Found and repaired a broken water line. The rest of the day will consist of guitars and movies with a sprinkling of adult beverages.

About minus 15 degrees and windchill of 35 below. Just a beautiful day in Pennsylvania. Just wondering how other Chordians are holding up with the Arctic vortex cooling things down.Stay warm and bring in those brass monkeys.

I've been using my phone to access Chordie for some time now. The site automatically reroutes me to Chordie mobile. No problems viewing songbooks or using any features

Sorry to hear this JJJ. For all our governments "good intentions" they are still some of the biggest screwups on the planet. Hopefully they get it right and don't cause you and your wife anymore grief. Hang in there

56 and feel 26 (then I sober up)

This truly sucks Top. Hopefully UPS is able to figure out where your guitar went. Hang in there and keep hoping for the best.

Once upon a time I had the chords and lyrics for Still in Saigon. Now I seem to have lost them. Anyone know this song? I think it started in Bm. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Congrats and happy NGD. Any excuse to buy a new guitar is a good one especially when you are doing it for your fellow Chordians. LOL

Try some Ernie Ball Earthwood medium lights. Great tone and last for awhile.

Here we are nearly a week in and my body still feels out of sync
I agree, don't need it, don't want it so get rid of it

Been using Ernie Ball medium lights on my Celebrity for awhile now. As I have a shallow body they give me good bottom end without being hard to play and don't sound tinny.

I almost bit on that then I read it again. Ouch! Hopefully he was left alone. On a different note I haven't seen Pix's name on here, what's up with that?

Hey guys, thanks for the kind thoughts. But we had drifted so far apart that we really had nothing left. All in all it was for the best. I have recovered pretty well with the hand. It's stiff at times but it is what it is. I didn't mention it earlier but I managed to give myself a whole new set of issues just before my birthday. I wrecked my motorcycle. No helmet on and ended smashing my face. End result,;; another surgery and two plates around my eye. So it has been a memorable year. Thanks again for the welcome back

Been awhile since I've been here and I've missed my extended family. A lot has changed in my world mostly for the better. My wife and I seperated in the spring of 2012. Things hadn't been right with us for awhile so this was a positive thing. As a result I moved out and  began to get my head and life together. (There was a period of self pity but Im not going there) End result a better job, peace of mind and I'm playing again. The tip of my index finger is frozen so some adaptations were necessary but my Ovation and I are strumming again. I have no computer but I'm figuring out my new phone so maybe soon I'll be able to post some pics. Gave my kids my other guitars so some new ones were in order. So far I've acquired an Ibenez Gio, a small Rocktron amp and a Gibson Maestro tube amp. Not alot but its a start. Well thats enough for now let's see if I can get this posted.

Simple. Injure yourself so you can't play, then buy a new guitar and look at it for four or five months. Worked for me.

My wife and I were discussing how busy we'll be this summer and it does seem that we have something going on every month. We had thought about going to Virginia Beach for a weekend but that will have to be put on hold. In June-Graduation party for our 18 year old   July- 3 birthdays, our wedding anniversary, and my wife's family reunion, August- oldest son's wedding in Kentucky, Sept- my family's reunion/Labor Day party and in October, our youngest daughter's wedding. Whew! These are just the planned events, who knows what else will pop up in between. I know some will be attending Zurf's camping and picking weekend, but what does everyone else have planned?

I've never bought anything from Rondo Music although I have visited their site. I did however get my lefty acoustic/electric from Musicians Discount Warehouse  http://www.musiciansdiscountwarehouse.com/index.html  . A fine sounding entry level guitar bought as a second (a small chip on the back of the neck and a couple of small chips at the bottom of the fretboard) . They handle everything from acoustics to P.A.systems and great prices. I'm considering getting a left handed electric in the near future from them. Take a look at their stuff. My acoustic needed no set up and sounds great for a cheap thin  body. Who knows, you may find a gem.

Just read Dick Clark dies at 82 of heart attack. Dick's show American Bandstand was one of my first experiences with Rock & Roll. As my parents were big country fans Dick's show was my weekly fix and introduction to many groups many of whom became legendary themselves. An icon who will be missed

Try this Tony and welcome to Chordie    http://lennonchords.info/

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not well versed in theory, but if you are playing an E shaped barre chord your low E string is the root note and is barred. In an A shaped barre chord the A string becomes the root and is also barred and the E string is not played. In both examples the high E string is barred and played.

Congratulations Jim. Here's to many happy years. Glad you got someone who enjoys the same things you do.

I found if I played either the E or A shaped chord using my middle, ring and pinkie it made the transition to the barre much easier.   Butch
