I have a Takamine EG523SC Acoustic-Electric Guitar. The action on this is ok, however I don’t like the sound and it doesn’t stay in tune long. I am going to trade it in on an electric. Anybody got an Idea what they go for on a trade in?
I know Musician’s Friend was selling for 699.00 new and one with blemish for 559.00. So I am hoping for at least 300-350. This guitar looks like a million bucks but sounds like a bunch of rubber bands over a cardboard box…(and yes I have done that…LOL). The Alvarez I have desperately needs the action lowered. It has an adjustable bridge and truss rod but I don’t know how to adjust it… I believe drop the bridge then tweak the rod? (Yikes) any suggestions? 3CF

Cool Thanks Jerry! I keep ya posted. 3CF

Thanks Jerry!
I have been playing Guitar for about 5 years and Mandolin for 7 and percussion for really long time.
The guitar like I stated is really old and the neck is in grate condition. It has a truss rod so I can get to it if I need to.
I really appreciate your advice. What is a good way to check and see what fret is higher than the neighbors? Oh I also have installed a Rare Earth (Fishman) Single coil pickup as well. I am looking forward to adding a (Fishman) mandolin bridge pickup soon to the electric/acoustic Fender I have. The one on there now is junk. The input jack on the side keeps unscrewing itself and creates bad connection, cut in and out time to time. I primarily play my own music and Contemporary Christian/Praise and Worship music. I just not to long ago my wife and I had a baby boy, so I wrote a song for his dedication service. I hope he likes it.      3CF

Try the Shane and Shane double Strumm. 3CF

I have an acoustic and it’s pretty old. I bought it with the action really high. I want to lower the action on it due to corporeal tunnel. I tried to lower it before and I got this nasty fret buzz. Should I get the frets redone and then have some one drop it or just leave it the way it is??? It has a really good sound so I don’t want to start hacking around on it. Any suggestions???
Thanks 3CF.

It looks like I am going to go with the Epiphone Limited Edition G-400 Custom. It 's a SG.  No cash for the Gib yet but in need to play out now. To buy or not to Buy....that is the question. 3CF

Epiphone Les Paul Custom ; Has anyone played this guitar before? I am looking at purchasing this one soon and just looking for some feedback.
This Les Paul has a mahogany body and alder top. Body, neck, and headstock binding. 2 volume and 2 tone controls with a 3-way toggle switch. 2 humbucker pickups, gold hardware, set mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. I prefer the classic look of the LP custom than that of the G-400. What’s the difference between two or three humbuckers? 3CF

It is good to listen to the Artist’s version of the song you are playing the chords to. this will give you an idea on the tempo and exactly where the chord changes are in the song. That is why there chords over the words. This is telling you to play that chord at that time in the song. The only thing you need to do is listen to how it is played and hear how it is picked/strummed and how fast/slow the song is. 3CF
