I gotta go with the hammer ons and pull offs. When my timing is right it kinda sounds like I added a quick melody line to the tune, also toss in some vibrato.....Now ya got a little some, some going.

Finding a place in your area that host an open mic night would be a good way to start, as well as this thread. You coulkd also try craigslist under musicans. Hope this is of some help.

I too had a budget of 500.00.....after doing some research online and playing some at a few local stores I decided to go with the Epiphone EJ200ce.
i got the guitar and matching case and still had enough money to buy a happy meal.....LOL.....:-)

Just learn the riff in a different postion on the neck.....For example 10th fret on the E string is a "D" note as is the 7th fret on the "G" string, and the 5th fret on the "A" string Hope this is of some help.....This is why scales are a good thing to learn.
