Alot of songs using chords EAD or DAE or ADE.
Try differents strumming patterns, make up your own..... slow tempo - up tempo.
Make up your own lyrics too.

Well my 50 cents worth is that times have changed, peoples ideas about the world they live in has changed.
So kids are growing up in a world that reflects these changes.As a pessamist I can only say that we will be spending more and more money on detention centres.I also think that we should take a closer look at how mass media operates.If I where in control, there would be alot of things I would sensor thats for sure!

Eddie van Halen riffs - alot of finger tapping stuff, pinched harmonics always looks good.

I gather there is no hard and fast rule when it comes to chord progressions.
For example you could have a I ii iv V (off the top of my head) chord pro.
Basically what I'm saying is you can make up any combination?
As long as it sounds OK?

I've been playing for about seven years - I'm in a band playing rythym - mostly power chords - I also play at parties and can play over 200 songs - but I need the music charts with me.I can play about 50 odd songs off by heart.I'm so proud - (pat myself on the back) If you learn 12 bar and a couple of turn arounds you will have literaly hundreds of songs at your finger tips.

Phycology of playing chords:Do it about Three thousand times before your fingers go towhere there supposed to go.....That means alot of chord changes - it really helps when you copy your favourite song or artist.
Example I learn't guitar thanks to David Bowie - it's all his fault.But I just had to play his songs.....Some easy songs to learn would be three chord songs.Go from E to A to D and you have Gloria. Go G Em C D and you have many songs in that chord Pro......Good Luck....

I think Rock will be around for a while yet - It will fade......and like fashion will come back and take on a new meaning and direction.It will never die - just when you think it has - some Joe Satriani or Zappa or Page will come along and re-invent the way things are done and sound.I also think there will be a new audience, kids who want to listen to guitar bands,loud and aggressive - we all go through it, its a part of being a teenanger.OOps teenager.

I think that it comes down to what makes us happy as guitarists.
An acoustic guitar is a wooden box with a soundhole - as long as it sounds alright you can get bye until the funds arrive.As long as the the action is good,and there's not too many other big holes in the thing;it's what you do with the thing that makes it count.It's how you play it!Then you can have the taylors and Gibson etc for the look - but far better musicians play with alot less.I tend too think that the early blues players survived on alot less....hell i've seen guitars made from oil cans.....

Good Question Cyntania - I would have like - air raid sirens sounding - and then gun shots going off - and then police sirens - and then yelling - and then the bass would start - thumpa thumpa thump and then drums - And then I would come in on my ukele - oops sorry I mean my Gibson SG -Distorted to the max - playing triplets and tapping in succession - that could do it.
