Guitar, tabletop drums lol

REALLY wanting to get some piano lessons (must be the Lennon fan in me)

Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Nirvana (say what you want about his guitar skills, I love the emotion)
Rolling Stones

Zurf, about the only thing good to come out of the 80s was AC/DC

Some things I hate....

Bigots
People being disrespectful when I bring my girlfriend around (she's very good looking)
U2
"Pop" gossip spreading into my sports channels... if that's not the sign of the apocalypse i don't know what is
People who don't understand how traffic works (fast lanes on highways, sidewalks, escalators)
People who try to tell you how you should play certain songs

I've just started trying to play the harmonica, key word being "trying". You guys know any good resources for beginners? I haven't found much on the Internet

I've gotten barre chords down now, just a little slow at switching between them and open chords. The best thing is just form the chord slowly, get every string to ring out, then do it again. Now I've found a-shaped barre chords... which have disproved my theory that I'll never hate anything worse than e-shaped barre chords

Which idiot wrote this? Tell the government to direct their funds towards something useful, like music programs.

Smartest thing I've probably ever read

1. Bob Dylan
2. The Beatles
3. The Eagles
4. Neil Young
5. The Rolling Stones

Hendrix didn't create the Power Trio Cream did. But he was the first to do lots of great things.

Overrated: U2 and Greenday (although I love early Greenday)

Underrated: Thin Lizzy

They make an adhesive specifically for this called "Gorilla Snot".

Yeah you have to include the Telecaster as a choice. I'd say the Strat. I've never even heard of option 5, must not be too important throughout history. Acoustically, the Martin D28

I know Fender has a 12 string with a built in tuner and EQ somewhere in that price range

Just got back from the local Guitar Center. Picked up a 12 string and played it, had never ever seen a 12 string in person. Bad idea, I'm hooked on the sound. Anybody had any experience with a 12 string? Pros? Cons?

My first CD was Metallica Master of Puppets, can't remember my first tape

Basically most strumming patterns are from the D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U. What most rhythm players do is then choose to leave out some of the strokes while still ending the pattern at the correct time. (1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and). A popular pattern is D-X-D-U-X-U-D-U while not strumming where there are X's. Just remember to keep your hand moving constantly. When picking a pattern for particular songs, I normally just get rid of all distractions then listen to the song and try to figure out which strums they leave out. But the DDUUDU pattern tends to work for a lot of songs, such as Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison

The nut is at the end of the neck. Most guitars normally have double dots on the 12th, I think because thats where the string is perfectly in half.

I know some Martin's used the double dots on the 7th
