Ahahahahahahaahaha!!! Good one!!!

True indeed. You may also want to check out Http://www.jamcenter.com
That site has multiple tracks you can play along with and you can even pick the key that they play in.
It's awesome!!!

hi. actually i have another post on accessories about "metronome", if its worth buying them. if they will teach me how to strumm better?
so you think they will?
acmecorp wrote:Do you have regular access to a computer?
There are several software metronomes available on the web.
Personally I use Linux and of course all software is free ...
thats a good idea, but its a bit of a hassle for me coz my pc is in the office room of the house and my electrics are in my room. just wanna learn how to strumm.. if a metronome will help me, ill have no second thought of getting one. will it?
cytania wrote:Hi NZ, metronomes vary from simple clicks (saw one last month that actually went in-ear, great for marching bands!) to what are basicaly drum machines for beginners. Roland do Dr.Beat in several incarnations I think the DB-90 sounds good on paper as it has various tempos and drum patterns but doesn't put the onus on you to program it. Having played along to the drum loops in GarageBand (free with any Mac) I can say having real rock/pop rhythmns makes a real difference, it just doesn't do 3/4 waltztime as far as I can tell.
cytania,
thanks for the reply. is it wise to invest on it? do you have one?
i got no troubles with chords just with the strumm though. i know all basic chords, major and minors, and few barre chords too. just got problem with my strumming.
anyone knows songs with easy chords and easy to strumm?
which is the up or down strumm? does the beep/tick/flash(strumm) suit all kinds of song, depends on your settings(bpm)? are these settings strumm patterns? thanks..
yup i saw one before. but how do you use it? do you strumm along with the beep/flash/tick? will it improve my strumming? cause im really poor on strumming.
what does metronome do? does it help you how to strumm?
Durza2077 wrote:Does anyone know the strum for 'Tears and Rain' by James Blunt.
I'm really new and i don't know these things. Im good at chords and tabs just strumming.
Please help.
Thanks
we have the same problem man. thankfully theres a lot of helpful people here at chordie.
patrickjacques wrote:nzlectric I don't know what kind of music you are into but what comes to mind for me as far as some easy struming might be some eagles, perhaps peaceful easy feeling or lyin eyes
i like alternative and rock songs. i kinda like eagles too, i like their album "hell freezes over". any song will do as long as i can use for practising. i think slow song is better, since i am still a begginner. do you know any easy strumming songs? and how to strumm them?
just to give me an idea.
Roger Guppy wrote:Hi nz,
Unfortunately I have just moved and my recording gear is not set up yet or I could show you better than a written explanation. I will do this when I can for you.
In the meantime here is a thought for you.
I would like to bet that there have been many times you have been listening to some music and you have beaten a rhythm on your lap or a table top with your hands. That is all that strumming is, not some fixed mathematical formula, but something that you feel. So instead of beating your right hand on a table top you are rubbing it down and up across your guitar strings in time to the music. As I said earlier start with just a steady rhythm before putting in up strokes and double time downs.
If you know three strumming pattern that is three more than me. I will not be restricted by trying to play in a fixed manner, I will do it my way as the mood suits.
Don't think about it - feel it.
Roger
thanks. i hope i can strumm the the guitar as i can tap the table with my hands.
yeah, i hope you can show me how to do it.
Roger Guppy,
thanks for giving time answering my problem. i know just about 3 strumms patterns and cant make up other pattern, so im stuck with those 3 strumm. so i play all the song i know with just those pattern that i know.
wouldnt it be better if i can strumm it the way the song was strummed? coz you'll be in better tune with the song.
im teaching my self by a dvd i bought, practice is pretty much ok but im having troubles with my strumming, cant do it properly, its like i cant follow a strumm from a song. so by now im kinda stuck which is kinda frustrating. ive tried to learn before and got problems with strumming and i stopped, now here i am again on the same situation.
i thought pherimones are just from bees? humans have body odours its just either bad or good. better let your friends judge it first before the ladies. lolz.
i will try that patrickjacques. thanks. do you know any song with very easy strumming?
any help will be appreciated. thanks. if anyone wants to send me a song to practice with specific strumm please send it to my email. john69burn@yahoo.com thanks..
thanks bootleger. ill try that. apparently a have another post under electric, if u could help me with that please. i really need to solve that problem. thanks you.
for example i want to play the song you're beautiful by james blunt, i know the chords of the song and the intro part but how do i strumm it?
the specific strumm please so i could try it. thanks
just wondering what are the setting of the amp for each different type of song genre.
ie. for rock,alternative, and metal?
just want to know if i set my amp right. im playing mainly alternative.
i guess its all about personal preferences. i tried to play as much as i could after work hoping sometime i will be better. thanks..
cytania wrote:OK here's a challenge, John Lennon's version of 'Stand By Me', easy chord but the strum is know as Calypso. It goes down up slap, yep slap the body of the guitar (gently) to get the offbeat. I still find this hard partly because I also love the original which has a subtley different beat built around the bassline but John Lennon's version is all strum.
never heard the song. strum was, down un clap.. and whats next?
hi. im just a begginner and im teaching myself through a dvd video i bought and other books.
i tried to learn before but got frustrated on my strumming. now im trying again.
i kinda learnd easily the chords, fingerpicking, and lead, but not strumming.
i got stuck always. i got a wide knowledge of chords, but i find it hard to strumm.
though i know the chords of the song and tune of it i cant play it.
call me dumb or something but i need your help.
please help me guys. thanks.
i think mine is TOM MORELLO of rage against the machine.
