Hey Lena,
I have been away for a bit - taking my horses on a circuit and they all performed better than the ALL BLACKS ! I was kicking myself because I never got to watch the game due to working my horses and then someone tells me they lost anyway. Crack up! The entire country was in mourning!!!
Question: "Whats the difference between and teabag the All Blacks?"
Answer: "The teabag stays in the cup longer"
I was not too bad as my horses raced well that day!!!
Now another side issue...............I am not the greatest on the computer and yesterday I neatly wrote out a song that I was going to post in the 'songwriting' section, with all the little brackets etc, then 'wham' lost the lot. I know....all you guys out there will be saying, save, save, save, but its not that easy when you're concentrating on getting the brackets thingees in the right place , so as to make sure the song wasn't a complete mess. Anyway promise I will try again.
And finally......the winner of the Rugby World Cup will be...............................who's playing?

Hi Guys,
Agree with everything that has been written. I am not a big fan of the internet but this site does it for me. I love the songs that you guys write and the people here are neat.
I was born in 1958. My mum was Scottish, my dad Samoan and we lived in both Samoa and New Zealand.
I train horses (trotters and pacers) and do security work at nights.
I was a soldier for many years and served in Asia, Africa, Middle East and a heap of other places that no one remembers
I have been playing the guitar on and off for a millon years and still muck it up.
I love music - any type. One day I will post some of the songs I have written (Old Doll - it's not as easy as I thought!!!! I am not great on the computer!!)
Hi to everyone in Chordie land.

Hey Roger,
No worries about my teeth - still have them. Only ones I have lost were in my younger days when I thought I knew everything! It's the lungs that needed help. Too much smoking over too many years ;-)
Love this song.

Re: Being 13 sucks! (49 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Hey Rockerchick,
Yes 13 is a hard age for all the reasons that the others have said. I have 4 daughters, 7 god-daughters and a whole heap more that I consider daughters and each and everyone of them has been 13 and each and everyone of them has found it hard. So you're not alone out there. If at sometime you find it hard to communicate with your folks, then put into a song !
Us parents get a bit mixed up also and we do and say things that we didn't mean to say and do.
You say you're been smart so far, that's cool Rockerchick, keep being smart, keep being honest and above all keep smiling. Because before you know it 13 will seem like a distant memory.
Keep coming back to this site, the chordie people will help you.

Porteen
I was told by Doll, a splendid soul, to rub some Porteen on
I massaged and rubbed, sipped and drank, till the pain had gone.
But in the morning, when the sun was dawning, with the horses I did work,
Full of glee and carefully, I took them on the track,
I felt so good and ran so strong - that I beat them there and back..............

Couldn't agree with you more Zurf. I too have been playing and singing heaps of songs that appear from our many talented chordians. One of my daughters,a week or so ago asked what song I was playing and did I write it? I answered no a friend of mine from Ireland wrote it (Old Doll). Classic! It could of quite easily been, Texas, Mississippi, Portugal or a number of other places around this beautiful world of ours. Well done all you songwriters, keep them coming.

Re: WILL THERE BE ANYTHING BETTER THAN THE BEATLES (15 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
I don't think anyone band will come again like The Beatles. Only because they have been and gone and the entire Beatle Culture cannot be relived as it could have only happened in that time in history - 60's. The sixties were just waiting for someone/something to come along and that happened to be John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Re: WHO IS CONSIDERED TODAY AS THE BEST GUITARIST? (26 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
My favourite guitarist was............my dad. No, he never had a number one record and he never performed in front of millions but he played and played and played for his family and freinds. Each time someone asked him to play publicly, he would smile and say, "Hell No! No one wants to hear this old Samoan." But everyone did. He could play anything. He learnt on a a "coconut guitar" Thats where the shell of a old dried out coconut is used with other peices of wood and made into a guitar, very similar to a uke. They still make them the odd time but they are only good for one session!!! Then you make another one!
Outside of my dad, I have many guitarists I love, but probably my favourite is David Gilmour.

Re: Teaching Tips (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Hey 25Frankster,
I am the same as you, self taught, and awhile ago when my 15 year old son asked me to teach him, I was at a blank! However, going through the CAGED theory that acmecorp suggested was a great begining. That got my son very interested and motivated. Like everyone here on chordie, the amazment of oneself when you play those first few chords is infectious. Especially when you realise that after all the practice, some things come esaily. The main thing is to keep it fun. Now my son plays with all his new musical friends and they have a ball. He is now teaching me!!!
Good luck and you have a very rewarding project ahead of you.

Hey Old Doll,
Thank you for the link to The National Stud. Beautiful Zen gardens and really complements the horsey side of things. I just been racing a couple of mine up the island and I needed the atmosphere of a Zen garden, after they raced !!! Hit in the pocket. But worse was to come this morning when I sat down to watch Ireland play France in the Rugby World Cup. I put what little I had left over on Ireland to trounce France. But alas, it was not to be. Samoa have been beaten by our neighbours Tonga. Its the first time Tonga has beaten Samoa in years. Oh what the hell...................its only a game. However the All Blacks are doing well (because they have a lot of Samoans in the team!)
It's Saturday night here in town and while everyone here parties...................I am working.

Hey UYK,
I have not long played your song to my 4 daughters and the reception I got was brilliant, to say the least. Firstly I had to show them this site to prove that I didn't write it and secondly, and much more importantly. they LOVED it. So well done..............Now there is a few women at work I might try it out on.........................
Well Done

Re: CURIOSITY KILLS THE GUITAR (22 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Hey Doc,
For me it is what mood I am in or what mood I would like to be in. For instance if I am really tired after a 'hard days night' (everyday) but have more to do then my electric stirs me up and I am off and ready for anything. On the other hand, if I want to chill out then the acoustic is the one for me.........but I have been known to do the opposite too!!! I have not been playing the electric long and so I guess I am still as keen as mustard. But if I was to only be able to select one then it would be the acoustic just in case the power was down for a month or two!! So in answer to your question, I am an acoustic player who plays electric ?
