Re: Chordie on iPhone (1 replies, posted in About Chordie)
I did disable the iPhone-version. Too many small issues. IPhone is now using the iPad-version.
The iPad-version is created by css. It is a lot of changes here, but they might actually be hard to see if you are not looking for them. Easiest to spot is that PC-versions has three coulmns. IPad-versions has only two. "most-popular"/"Video" etc is not shown for iPad. Songs have a lot of optimisations.

Re: UkuleleSongs.com (1 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Seems like the site has ripped the layout from the Chordie site. They have not asked for permission, and is not giving any credit. Chordie is in no way associated with this site.

Lots of problems with the server lately. Hard to figure out what was wrong. Got good help from my service provider (Leaseweb), and they came up with a good theory. Just made a few major changes. Lets see what happens in the next 4-5hours.

There has been a lot of problems with logins after moving to the new server. This includes people having problems accessing their own songbook.
These problems seem to be solved now. If you experience any login issues, please contact admin@chordie.com.

Currently there is an issue with people not getting correctly signed in. I have a good understanding of what is causing this, but the fix is unfortunately a bit complicated. Expect it to be fixed within a few days.

Re: Tunes not accessible as usual, (7 replies, posted in About Chordie)
As of now, all known issues are fixed. I am sorry about the problems the last days, but the new server should be a lot better and more stable. The old server had to be rebooted several times a day, and was down for hours at time. The new one is many times faster, and is also running brand new versions of all the underlying software.

Re: Why does Chordie think I originate in the UK (2 replies, posted in About Chordie)
The method for determining where Internet users originate from has changed with the update. Chordie is currently relying on data from http://wipmania.com/ to check the country of the user. Please use this site to figure out why you involuntary has moved to the UK.

Re: The Chordie " Home Page" (30 replies, posted in About Chordie)
I am reading the error reports, but cant really figure out what is wrong here.
There are a couple of features missing in the iPad-version. Like the autoscroll. I havent had time adding them yet.
However, this should NOT result in any of the features missing on other plattforms than on the iPad. If this happens, there is something very wrong with my css script.
If you see strange stuff, could you please send a screenshot to admin@chordie.com. Please tell me what browser/OS you are using, and try to explain what is wrong.

Re: iPad view (8 replies, posted in About Chordie)
I will try testing on the iPad as soon as I am able to get hold of one. An alternative might be to redirect the iPad to the "ordinary" version of Chordie, since the screen most likely is large enough.

Good idea. I have to think about though. It might not be trivial since these are dynamic settings (javascript), but I will look into it.

Topic: JamPlay (1 replies, posted in About Chordie)
JamPlay is one of the most important advertisers at Chordie, and one of the main reasons I can keep this site running.
I have gotten tons of requests from people making online guitar courses wanting to buy their advertising space. I have however chosen JamPlay because they offer a really unique, high quality product. It is light-years ahead of the average online guitar course.
If you have not checked out the course, please click on one of the ads and look at their free samples.

Re: Testing Chopro Layouts (17 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I am fine with this use of Chordie. I think it is great that people build stuff on top of Chordie.
If I get the time, I will make a more complete API for interfacing with the site.
Please do however link to Chordie, and tell (as you did, gschoppe) what part of this is based on Chordie.
Usually I do prefer that such services interface with the song pages (ie "chord.pere"), since these have ads. But since this might be difficult here, and since you are not adding your own ads on top, it is OK.
I might in the future launch something similar to this. The reason I am not doing it now, is that I need to be able to tell the lawyer/copyright-people that every song formatted on Chordie is hosted elsewhere. It just makes things easier.

The variations are mathematical calculations, and are hard to change.
