I took these and the reason for taking 3 of the same picks is one for me, one for my son, and one for my grandson. They are both chordie users.

I put these!
I have gone through the items and it was a lot of fun. I will be waiting for an address to send it to. AL (Deadstring)

tubatooter,
I agree. Mine too is a temple but at that point in my life it was just the devil's workshop. God is Good!

Since the CDs are free for the taking I am assuming it's ok to copy some of the songs and send the originals on. Ok?

I received the box from Amy this morning. Thanks Amy!
I would guess it to be around 1500 miles. I am in th NW corner of Louisiana at the intersection of highways 2 and 3. Zip 71064.
You newer members check out the original posts on this topic to see what is going on and join in the fun! It's a hoot! The first e-mail I get with a good address will be the next destination.
Ya'll excuse me, I have a lot of things to hear and see. AL

Mom,
I believe you would enjoy it and I know they would. Some of these folks get no company and the rest  don't get more than they can handle. They are starved for attention and they appreciate any effort put forward. Al

I  enjoy most kinds of music so my list of songs I have played is very long. The list of songs I have played well is not as long.

Man o Man! You just don't know how happy these kinds of replies make me feel. Thanks!
I added a third to my list and was there Wednesday. here was a lady there that kept bragging on my efforts. Well a fellow Gideon member was there visiting his wife and they sat in to listen. He told me at our Thursday night Gideon meeting that that I had done well and the lady doing the bragging was a nonbeliever but she would come to each singing and go back to her room after one or two songs. He said that Weds day was the first time he ever saw her stay for the whole hour. This really encouraged me. God is good!

srpetty, that is great! I think we get nervous because we are aware of who we are trying to lift up. I also think he allows us to get fumble fingered just to see how we will react.
I'm up to 3 nursing homes a month and loving it.
May God bless your efforts.  AL

First off welcome to Chordie!
I'd suggest clicking on "Public Songbooks" above the index line. You'll see all kinds of song categories including easy songs.
You are a step ahead of a lot of us by having a family of players to draw from and play with. I wish you well in your learning.  Al

Tom Dulley is one
Amanda by Waylon or Don Milliams is another.
I saw the light another.

I posted 3 old cover songs on soundclick a long time ago. I had almost forgotten they were there. Nothing fancy. Just me alone,

Deadstring, my hat is off to you. My father is 92 and has been in a nursing home for the last two years. There has been a couple of groups that have come through and done a wonderful
job and it really brightens up these people's spirit. I admire what you are doing and this is giving me the courage to step up to the plate and concentrate on just a few of the oldies that I know they would like to hear.  Keep up the good work.

We found a Santa Claus who can sing and is really funny to go with us.
I don't know who has more fun, us or the old folks and kids.

Tooter I think your grandson  sings with you and I seem to remember his name was Casey. Am i correct?
I have one named Casey (11) and he will go with me when school is out. He is excited.  Have a great time and keep it up. They love it! Al

God on ya, Al. You have a clear grasp of the objective. The main thing is, everybody including YOU has mucho fun.

Great stories Zurf. They seem to like the old favorites as I do. I don't like (many do) this 250 praise music. Two lines sung fifty times but I have learned one or two just to test the waters. I don't think I'll have to learn many.  AL
