Retro Buzz , Cool.  Kind of a Modern feel but tells what your about.

Tyson I designed a nice logo for the name for the drum head and as soon as I can get it copied on my printer I will upload the design and put the link on Chordie. I agree there will be no guessing but occasionally we will do some modern jams with original content. smile

RETRO BUZZ ... excellent choice, Russell. You posted a vid several months ago called "fat old guy .... somethin', somethin', somethin". I personally like RETRO BUZZ a lot better. lol I imagine you've got some major recording labels breathing down your neck already?

TF I have not felt any breeze on my neck other then the seasonal cold weather but there is always hope smile  but my experience tells me things happen by chance and pure dumb luck more often in the world. I created a Facebook page for the band but we do not have photos YET but there coming. I did change the name on You Tube of the bands videos and I will create a channel there for the band also. smile

The Packers players and coaches need to go to intensive care they stink! Fire McCarthy,Dom Capers and get some fresh blood in the receiving corp even if you have to pay the big bucks for quality players the defense has more holes then a food strainer the offensive line totally sucks end of rant

49ers lost again I think that is 7 losses straight. I could not see Green Bay or  the Seahawks here.

I could and they stunk! The Packers need to have there starters healthy not on crutches they are not going to beat any top team with rookie corner backs and linemen period.

I feel for you been there a few times I have been fairly lucky with my gear I still have a 100 w sonic head with two 12" speaker cabs as a back up to my Marshall and the bass player and drummer both have extra amps at our rehearsal studio so I am covered. hope ya get it sorted out it is almost easier to get a new amp then repair older ones unless you are into electronics and can do it yourself. good luck with it. smile

Thank you Graham smile the band is coming along nicely we are in the process of getting a band You Tube and Facebook page and are narrowing down a name for the band.

Nice work again, Russell.

This song by Bad Company, Bill's comment about his old band's name, and referring to you guys as the "Harding Trio" got me thinking. How about "Hard Company"? Or are y'all too old for that to be relevant? lol lol lol (sorry ... couldn't resist)

Thanks TF I like the name "Fluffer" (there are some urban legends about the origin ) it seems all the good names have been taken but fear not we will come up with something.

Comments left, but so much sound coming out of THREE of you makes me long for the old days!!!

Nobody knows this, but for about a month I fronted a band called "B.C. And The Cavemen" and there were THREE of us - not as good as the Harding Trio of course, but with the sackcloth we had draped over us, and a little bit of black shoe polish we looked a little like B.C., the guys from the comic strip of the same name. Me on drums and vocals.

Of course our signature song was this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz6IpmmYSXA

Sorry, but I couldn't resist: Three guys with such a full sound, as you guys! I wish we'd had a lead guitarist such as you, my friend Russell!

Bill

Bill I think equipment has improved over the years letting us get a fuller sound not to mention I have had years of learning in mixing with gear that was not available back in the 50's 60.or 70.s I video tape all songs with a state of the art Sony MVI  HD movie camera (Huge mic's for a small cam) and it produces a very rich full sound when processed but it still comes down to how well interact with your bandmates and the arrangements of songs. Thank you again for posting your comments we do read them and appreciate it smile

I enjoyed that Russell. You dudes are sounding good.  As usual one recording leads to another and another while the time slips away, thats good stuff guys.

Thank you! we have a lot of fun when we get together and have more ambitious projects working but for now we will stick with our favorites and tighten up the sound before attempting other songs more to come. smile

Hello,
I've been looking around the various online chord naming websites, but the variation of Cm6/Cm7 I'm trying to name, doesn't return any known name for this chord.

Firstly, on the Guitar, a Cm7 fretting pattern is... X - 3 - 5 - 3 - 4 - 3
which is... C - G - A# - Eb - G

I am adding a subtle discordant variation by raising the high G to an A.
On the Guitar, the fretting pattern is now... X - 3 - 5 - 3 - 4 - 5
which is... C - G - A# - Eb - A
It is sort of like a Cm6, but I'm retaining the A#, (from the Cm7), instead of raising it to a C.

As you can see, there is both an A#  and an  A. Still... it sounds nice, as does chords like Cmaj7 on the guitar which has discordant notes.

You music theory genius-ness wold be appreciated.

Regards
SFG.

Having played the fingering you suggest C G A# Eb A it sounds very close to a diminished chord fingering xx4545  which has a F# root F# C D# A  it could be an enharmonic equivalent.

OK
after going through hundreds of posts and trying to search - I have given up.

I thought it was Dino or Russell that got a new Fender modern player charcoal color guitar.

I ws looking at them on musicians friend site and they have then with no NYS sales tax and was actually considering getting one.

However as I was reading reviews  I rllaized that about half the reviews were the same for these guitars as many of the other guitars.  WTF is that - do they have people that just write reviews for theses places ?  I have come to the conclusion that  reviews online are pretty useless.  Guess I just have to go to a guitar shop and play one.

Russell and Dino - if it was you, do you like yours ? I remember one of you telling me you got yours for $ 299 or something rediculous  , now it's  selling for $ 499

I purchased a Fender Modern player tele and absolutely love it!! when they first advertised them I spoke with my sales rep at Sweetwater I have an account there and he told me about the new tele and they were selling for $299.00 he offered me a demo model with a nick on the back for $260.00 it stlll had all the plastic stretch wrap on it so I jumped on it all I can say is it is featured in several of my videos on you tube now I have three favorites my Les Paul the Modern Tele and my new Fender Squire. The Modern Tele has a fantastic neck and the tuners are excelllent it stays in tune and I bend the bjesus out of the strings I wish you lived near me I would let you play it but if you can find one at a music store try it out! you may find a demo somewhere for less you never know but from me I can only say it is a fantastic guitar. hope this helps smile
This will give you an idea of the sounds the Modern player tele puts out (listen with earphones it sounds better) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv-AkUyz9is

I think for me it depends on my mood but if there is a specific song or a lead solo for the band I play with I am relentless and keep at it till my brain is numb I have had some sessions go over 10 hours 2 or three days in a row I am currently working on Sultans of swing, I don't have to tell you but trust me there is a whole lot going on in this song that requires precise execution so I keep at it till I am satisfied and I think that is what it all comes down to for everyone, you have to set your own standards.
