OK as usual I couldn't resist the challenge of using them all in an original.....
TOMORROW… FLOWERS …WITHOUT… WHISKEY.
so here it is .. bluesy, country song
Nice one Graham !
Fun song !
Jim
Jan
Thank you.
That is probably the best description - wish I had of thought of it !
Jim
Peatle and Phill
Thanks for the kind words.
You are both correct - it is about a wandering soul- but it is actually
in reference to a musician trying to make it and that he can't hold down any real relationship because they are always looking for something else..
I happen to be listening a couple days ago to a great podcast called" the day when music became art".
In one chapter Steve Earle talked about running away to Houston at age 14, then going to L.A. at 19 - getting married and then divorced.Moving to NYC and getting married and divorced He then headed to Nashville and later New York. I believe he has been married five times.( so I also thought that the song could be about people that are in and out of relationships { or marriages} )
The chorus came to me about three weeks ago when a guy I was talking to said his kids were like the breeze, always going from here to there - and it kinda stuck with me.
Anyways - thanks again for the positive comments. I really wish I was a good singer - the songs I write sound so much better in my mind than when I record them. Also the fact that I live in "cowboy chordland" ( featuring "the GCD trio":) - limits what they sound like musically. It's why I love chordie, bc the kind people here often will do a version of them and make them so much better.
I will put a recording up soon, so get your ear plugs ready !!
Brian
Quite interesting. I would have to understand much more music before I ever attempted to write a progressive rock piece, although it does seem like it would be a really cool thing to do. There have been some great progressive albums, I have a few.
Thanks for sharing this, I enjoyed the speaker - he knows his stuff.
Jim
I've had a few of these lines in my head for a while and today they seemed to gel together. This is what I came up with.

very interesting
Phill
Try a little Crown Royal - it's so smooth it doesn't taste like whiskey.
On Ice with a splash of 7-up or sprite!
I am not a whiskey drinker - don't really care for it - but Crown is delightful once in a while
Jim
PS Still a really good song Jeff !!!
Peatle - Hilarious Joke !!!! Love it
Good Stuff Jeff ! I enjoy a little Crown once in a while--- your song is spot on ! Thanks for sharing Jim
Colvon
Let your playing make you happy, whatever you play.
They're people here on chordie that are always willing to help.
I see you are from Wales - a couple others on here I believe are from around there as well.
enjoy your music
Jim
Richard
I had never heard this song before - liked it - and you played and sang it so well !
Thanks for sharing
Jim
Done for SOTM - but thought I'd post it here as well as the other post eventually will be closed.
My playing and singing aren't good, had a couple screw ups, but thought it was a pretty cool song.

Thanks for listening
Jim
Zurf
Thanks my friend ! That was really cool. I liked it a lot though it is way different that what my version is.
(Mostly because you are actually a musician and I have basically no musical ability )
Thanks Jan - I wrote it a while ago, but this weekend, my best friends son (who is the lead guitarist for Maddy & Tae) stayed with us and he was telling me that when the played on Prince Edward Island the night before he managed to get some free time - and went in the North Atlantic for a swim - he told me it was really cold. It inspired me to make a few changes to the lyrics.
Thanks again Zurf - loved it.
Jim
I wrote this song a while ago ( I think Phill inspired it somehow - I forget - spent today totally changing it to a blues song.
got four of the words - Rain, Goodbye, Love, Door
hoping someone (maybe Graham ?) could give this a shot -
I will probably post a version later this week - I am heading out for few days.
Graham
Yeah, well, I liked this one too !!
You are a really talented musician.
Jim
Graham
That is awesome - great song - well played !
I am sure there are thousands that have the same sentiments regarding urban life
Jim
That is way cool Richard !
It must have taken a lot of work to put that together.
Fantastic achievements!
Congratulations! I hope it gets accepted - it is very well done.
Jim
Thanks Phill on both accounts!
OK it's not July but here goes.
(I am also posting this under songwriting - I hope that's ok??)
Too bad he didn't start earlier in life - probably could have done some good songs !
Jan Fabulous !! I loved your voice when you dropped down for "Darling" ! I still think your vice is golden and I also still think you should try it with an acoustic guitar - maybe you could get Peatle or Brian to play for you if you don't feel comfortable. You have what I have always said is the difference between average and great voices - uniqueness. Thanks for sharing this !
Jim
Jan
It was called chordiestock - I never went but it looked like so much fun.
There are many threads and photos somewhere on here about it. I think Mekidsmom, baldguydude, uncle joe and a bunch of others hosted some. Pretty sure Zurf went to a few.
It would be great to have one again.
