Happy NGD and Birthday.  I looked at that exact guitar a few months ago in Greensboro at the Guitar Center.  I would of bought it but my birthday isn't until June and my wife would wonder what that odd shaped package was that I was hiding in the trunk.  Let us know how it plays and how you like it.  June isn't that far away, maybe I'll get some birthday money too.

I am very pleased. It sounds very good and easier to play then I thought. The intro to Hotel California originating in Em chord sounds awesome.

I turned 68 Monday and had a great BDay. Wound up with $140 mad money in addition to other great gifts.
Went to the String Shop (added a little to the pot) and came back with a gig bag, a couple of picks, OH and a new 12 string Epi DR-212 NAT. I am impressed with the sound and feel for a less than $200 guitar.
I told my wife everyone else on Chordie was having NGDs so it was my turn. So far so good.

As an update and to keep the suspense going I'll just report that the "Picks" will be headed toward the left side of the USA in a day or two.

I didn't sober up that quick! Air Force 1963,Amarillo,Tx. I spent $3.00 for an Ace of Spades with "Tuff Luck AL" under it.Never was satisfied with the quality so I wear a lot of long sleeve shirts.

Deadstring, I live in Amarillo not to far from the old base. What was the name of it?

Not sure if you mean the name of The Air Base or the name of the Tattoo Parlor. The Air Base was  Amarillo Air Force Base. I was there for Tech school from Feb.-June 1963 to train to be be an Airframe structural repairman. Sheet metal man for short.
I do not remember the name of the tattoo parlor but I think it was on Polk street. I also remember doing a lot of roller skating at a rink that may have been on Polk street also but I'm not  sure. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.
We went through Amarillo going to Colo. last year pulling our camper. Spenta night in the bottom of Palo Dora Canyon. AWESOME!

When the going gets tough the tough get going! What a great way to start off a day, by reading a great story like that. Thanks for reminding us that there are still good folks in this old world and the tangible things are not the most important.
