TIGLJK wrote:Russell,
I hope you don't think I was criticizing it - I actually thought there was something wrong with my video player on my computer.
Your technological abilities are way beyond my capabilities.
You guys really have it going ! It must be a blast! I certainly wish that I could play and sing as well you .
Keep'em coming Russell ( with or without the cymbals!) I enjoy your performances
Jim
Jim I didn't think that you were criticizing and I am glad you pointed it out ok One thing about our band is we will try anything if it sounds good, I learned all the guitar parts for Kashmir a song by Led Zepplin we did a quick run through but have to solve a small problem the bass player will have to loop the keyboard part and i have to grow another brain to sing the lyrics and play counter to it on my guitar but non the less we will do it. I keep the camera running and some of the most outrageous moments happen before and after the song starts but the language is not fit for family viewing
TIGLJK wrote:where are the cymbals - i hear them and see the drummer reach for them ...but don't see them ?
Great song though Russell - well played.
The saturation point on my video program is sensitive and I missed it I applied to much when I faded the green screen out thanks for pointing that out and next time I will pay more attention to detail
This is one of my favorites form the past and after a 3 week break the guys got together and jammed out quite a few songs which I have to edit this one Dream Lover remains a standard

Merry Christmas to you as well Phill I hope this coming year is a great one for you
It was a real slug fest in the windy city but the pack never gave up and pulled it out in the last minute
I had a Tennessean this was taken from my days with a group called the Mad Lads in Milwaukee Wisconsin in the sixties
I was a lot stronger then and a little more crazy Norman Bashierian the bass player is on my shoulders
Question: beamer what is this app for?
Tenement Funster wrote:My next "planned purchase" guitar will be this Squier Strat, which sells for just under $400 new:
They call it a "Vintage Modified '70s Stratocaster" and it has Seymour-Duncan pickups in it. I would expect there'd be some differences between this and the +$1,000 Fender version, but for a hobby guitarist, I can't imagine needing the higher end one. Steve Rothery of Marillion tours with this very same Squier guitar, and it sounds fantastic.
Other then the name on the head stock I don't see a to much difference between this and a strat
joeyjoeyjoey wrote:I have to disagree with Russell`s comment that they were all made in Indonesia. I just bought a Made In U.S.A. Squier. A "Fire Squier". There was a fire at the Squier factory. Fender still had to fill orders. They were made here until the factory was up and running again. Pictures in an earlier post.
All Squires were made in Indonesia at least up until the fire I purchased mine in August of this year and all or most of Fenders guts are either Japanese or china very little is produced at Fender even the decals they call it "out sourcing" even Gibson uses foreign parts nothing is "Made in America" unless you cut the tree down and plane it good luck finding electronics or hardware made in the USA so while you are technically correct on the fire squire ( makes sense) I have to argue it is better then mine. (sometimes I like to argue)
Strummerboy Bill wrote:Well..... I need it, if you would be so kind, sir! Also wouldn't be bad to hear your drummer do the obvious one.
Doesn't matter. I'm just a fan of the band, so rock out on anything "Christmasy" you want to.
I also would like to know when you three start playing for an audience, because I definitely think you guys need to nail down that playlist, practice it and get going before one of you kicks the bucket! (That was a joke, okay?)
Your Friend
Bill
email me your address + a check for $500 (just a little holiday humor) just send me your address Bill
Strummerboy Bill wrote:Wow! What a range of opinions! Thanks! And Russell, how's "Retro" doing? Gonna grace us with a Christmas tune?
I'm thinking "Run, Run Rudolph" or "Roger Got Run Over By A Reindeer"......
[SHUP, OPIE!!!]
Sorry folks. It's what happens when I run out of meds! ......
Bill
Bill the Band dose not do any perhaps we should do one, I like is Little Drummer Boy I recorded a CD of all Christmas songs including one I wrote I still have a few laying around but I have all the songs on my pc and I can burn one if I need it.
Well as far as the Squire I have one I purchased about 2 months or so ago and all Squires have always been made in Indonesia not Japan they feature a push pull volume and a three position selector switch + a neck pickup and a humbucking bridge pickup. the new ones have a blond maple neck mine is candy apple red and it sound very unique coming through my effects and marshall amp almost the same tone as a Tele but not as twangy great tuners and fast action this is no entry level guitar in the right hands for best results use .09 to .042 super slinkys it gives a nice bite.
The Pack plays the Seahawks at Lambau field should be a good game both teams need it
I had knee surgery so I wish you the best I hope everything turns out ok
I designed this logo for the drum head any comments welcome
keepitreal wrote:Haven't heard this one for years. I always enjoy your posts, you look like you're having fun and it comes across in your music.
It has to be fun or it's a job I retired from traveling with shows after I hit my 60's we still have some bookings in the works but not a daily grind of hauling gear, set up tear down and off to the next place I'm 75 don't need any more excitement unless it is a song.
Strummerboy Bill wrote:Re: TF's last sentence up there: Hadn't thought of that, but yeah ---- I'll do my part to support RETRO BUZZ and buy a t-shirt.
And you'll remember I've already volunteered to drive the tour buzz/limo.
Come on guys! We gotta get started!
Does any of what TF and I have written sound familiar?
Your Fan,
Bill
Noted Bill we are concentrating on the music at the moment for a large event next summer and some other gigs and putting together a great song list.
Tenement Funster wrote:Russell_Harding wrote:Tenement Funster wrote:Nice job, Russell ... nice job indeed. You've got some great tones coming out of your Tele, and everyone's in fine voice ... especially on the chorus. Don't know what else to say ... flabber-ghasted!
TF I love the tone of my Modern players Tele it really go's nice with the action and the tuners allow a lot of freedom. I love doing songs from this era lot of great music thanks for giving a look and commenting
You're very welcome!
I have a very loose idea of how "green screen" tech works, and what you guys are doing for your vids is also very cool. Who puts together the clips, does the editing, etc.? All of your vids have very suitable backdrops, and it definitely adds to your overall presentation.
And I gotta ask ... will there be RETRO BUZZ merchandise?
TF I do all the editing on the videos if you want to get started in editing with Green Screen I would suggest in addition to buying some bulk green at walmart you purchase a very inexpensive program from TraxAx make sure it has green screen the cost for the program is under $30 and WELL worth it the green screen less the ten buck you can tack it on or staple it on a wall then use some flood lamps for lighting make sure there in back of you to cancel out the shadows. I search the internet for videos that have the same theme as the song and use my Samsung camera phone to shoot the video or look thru some old dvds any source works if you need help give me a holler I designed a Retro Buzz logo for the drum head I will see if I can upload it to our facebook page it would look cool on a t shirt.
Strummerboy Bill wrote:Gotcha covered with a comment on the Tube with the new one "Free Ride". I think it's great that all three of you can "rock out" (an old phrase from the 60's - remember it?) with this and so many others you have uploaded. It's also great that all three of you share in the singing.
Before I took singing lessons and while I was still drumming, I too had a boom mic and sang my butt off on the songs I really liked, so I got credit for background harmonies, but I always felt guilty about taking credit for that because the guys always kept that mic turned off.
Bill
I read you comments BIll and yes i remember "rock out" and the 60's actually I think I never left sure beats what I hear on tv for me at least your story reminds me of the 1st band I was in, the rhythm guitar player asked if he could turn his amp up because he couldn't hear himself and the lead guitarist told him "that's alright we remember what you sound like"

Hi dino just want you to know I really enjoying playing with a these guys, the background sort of fits with the music thank you!
Had a little fun with this, you never really know where a jam is going or where it winds up I guess the whole idea is to find a groove and put some polish on it and for the record the polish will be applied if you have a minute or so please give a look

Yep we got our own page to add photos and songs to, we are still working on our song list and it is coming along nicely, if you get time stop by and check out the photos and music.

The name fits perfectly
TG we have known each other for a long time and jammed a few times but this is the 1st concerted effort to take it a step further. I have a lot of leeway to express myself because they play basic stuff nothing to fancy or you lose the rock feel
