Don't know where the 100max songs came from originally. I thought there was a limit on the size just seen one with 365 songs so it might be just a rumour that got accepted as the true limit.
Just guessing here anyway it's a good thing eh... smile

Hi stealstrings
The lyrics to your song are intriguing something to do with the dark side of love maybe?
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mark
I use Ourstage http://www.ourstage.com the format is a bit different with monthly competitions for different categories of music.
It's free to enter with no limit on file size or audio format. There's prizes for the winners etc. You get resonable exposure and you can interact with other musicians if you want.
I've use used the site for a couple years and I think the competition side is reasonable straight.

Hi all
I was rummaging around and came across an old cassette tape of some songs I recorded nearly 20 years ago using a Tascam. By way of an experiment I downloaded this song on to the PC. I cleaned it up as best I could and added a keyboard track.
The quality sucks somewhat but there it is.....
Oh I did the vocals. I guess your realise why I mainly do instrumentals now. smile

I think I had in mind the oppression and extermination of the Jews in Poland by the Nazi during the 2nd world war.

Thanks to all, i look forward to more posts about challenges and epiphanies in practice and play.
For instance, I think I sing  and play a-buncha songs "real good" -but nobody a'in't a-clammerin' t' hear me sang 'em; some friends will tolerate it for a while, and I can accompany others.  Of course, that doesn't stop me from practicin' and singin' "a lot" -and as many know -"problems in life" can be ameliorated by some beers and singing 20 or 30 songs 'bout it -but i would like to begin to share what i am doing with other humans I don't know very well.

Well there is a bunch of us Chordians here that would like to hear your solo songs if you can record em and stick em up on myspace or some similar site.
If your not sure how to there plenty of advice in the "recording forum"
All remarks/posts would be be positive and constructive on your stuff.
Just a thought.

Sore fingers are good. It's all part of the learning the guitar not much you can do about them just use your common sense. When they are really painfull just back off no sense in shedding the tips of your fingers (no pun intended).
Just practise a bit each day the tips will harden over time. It's a stage we all go through.
As I've said nylon strings would be alot kinder to your fingers. It's a long journey.. well as long as you want to make it with many hurdle to jump so to speak.
Keep at it and try not to get to dishearterned.

Hi starrlee
Welcome to Chordie.
I guess if your just starting out the tips of your fingers are getting sore so inadvertently you might be fingering the strings flatter and not with the tips. Also newbies don't have a lot of gripping finger strength so they tend to bend their wrists in to compensate.
Well it's mainly a practise issue using the best form you can and just keep at it. Justines Sandercoes site is great for lessons.
The only other thing is the guitar. It's much easier for a newbie to learn to play a nylon strung guitar than a steel strung one at the start.
Good luck

I've seen and heard this guy before trawl through U tube guitarist enough as I do you turn up many a decent player some outstanding but mostly unknown to the world.
This guy is lorded by some but he never did much for me to flashy and I never trust a guitarist how can't hold his own guitar. smile

Hi jdlinn
The only thing I can suggest is to check the "View" box at the right of the song make sure the dropdown box is set to "Normal" and not "Lyrics only"
