Looks like you've got all the bases covered, Beamer. The only one in your chain I've tried is the Behringer Vintage Phaser, and I personally didn't care for it. I like getting gear as much as anyone, but I'd have to think your RP-30 would do everything you show here. If not, a compact multi-pedal (like a Zoom G3N) sells for well under $200, and there'd be a lot less cabling involved.

Just a personal opinion, and I again think you've covered off things quite well .. have at it, dude!

im a pedal nut.  and i can control what I want better individually.  The RP will cover everything else I have not gotten like chorus and reverb. I actually can use it and run line in also with a amp sim.

Looks like you two had a blast, Beamer ... you're obviously "into it", but Paul looks like he's about to doze off ... funny how a pic can capture a moment in time like that. Hope you guys enjoy many more great gigs together.

Yea i was telling him he needs to work on it. because he looked and sang bored.
he was nervous and did not want to admit it to me.and his stance is what i am working on.  It is NOT singing a song from a TV, thats for sure! stage presence.  At first I was nervous but once I started playing i was good.

Thanks Chordiestock! big_smile

I have the opposite problem Scott.  I play at home, with a dry signal and even prefer to record with a dry signal, but some of the open mic venues I play at a couple times a month add effects until it sounds like I'm singing from the bottom of a well............ Come to think of it maybe most folks would prefer I sing from the bottom of a well. sad

Last week I was in Florida visiting one of my daughters and her family (also attended my oldest granddaughter's college graduation). The Days Inn we stayed at had a bar that hosted an open mic on Mondays.  It was a strange set-up with a band (drums, bass, guitar) that expected you to play songs they knew so they could play along. It seemed like some sort of "live" karaoke to me so I passed.

Yea that's weird, I'dd have said  its in Am and follow if ya can but don't play over me.

This one will not depress you. I promise.

When you are feeling blue,
And your woman is leaving you in the grey,
No matter what you do, the sun won't shine today.

The only way I know to shake the mood
Is to take a drive of just a few miles,
And check out the ladies that make me smile.

They’re all dressed up, smiling at me,
Wearing the finest that money can buy
And with a wink I find the one I can’t walk by.

she wraps me in her arms
And and sings to me,
I smile because I know
she will never do me wrong.

It's better than a roll in the hay
she can't love me like a real woman should.
The vibration takes me away,,,,
IT IS A NEW GUITAR DAY!!

All I can imagine is you spilled your beer on the amp, and I know that's not right.

Beamer plays so heavy that one cannot help but pee oneself.

LOLOLOLOL thats a great compliment!

TIG
Dry Signal = Vocal to PA or Guitar to Amp with zero effects. no reverb nothing.

Wet = anything from reverb to delay to chorus.  Anything that enhances the signal.

All this is,  is a PA mixer,  no real sound guy.  And for my stuff it needs to be a tad wet.  I also can use my electric if i want.  I am a gear whore. lol not to mention that i wanted to show a budget board with out a multi EFX. although ill probably add my little RP 30 for some stuff, or ill just set it to one thing and keep it there.
where we play there is no "back line"

HAD SOME TIME TO THINK AFTER THE OPEN MIC NIGHT.
I played Paul sang. Two lessons learned. 1. Don't get used to how you sound in the basement with a wet signal. 2. When room is sonically dead, even the A/E needs some love.

So I am building a budget gig board for the acoustic. I already have the sound tank, (never get rid of good equipment no matter how old) and the rest with the board (Comes with bag) and a Donner daisy chain is right at $200.36 (I have zero problems with any of the brands chosen, Good bang for the buck)

For those of you who are not on FB,

We had some bumps, but we also had fun and everyone was very cool.
I played and my new best buddy Paul sang. Two lessons learned. 1. Don't get used to how you sound in the basement with a wet signal. 2. When room is sonically dead, even the A/E needs some love.  So I will post in the
guitars and accessories post about my new budget idea big_smile  Sorry No audio, We want to be much better next time.

Thanks for the praise everyone.

Im still trying to come to a playing style on it.
My Daughter read it and said hearing stuff about my love live made her uneasy.  my reply was it want my love life, it was my life.
I showed it to my yet to be x wife, and she said it was a sad song.  I told her "No, not entirely, but every great country  or rock song comes from pain.  It actually is a song of moving forward."

ill do my best to get it up there on sound cloud.
just gotta work it out with my singer big_smile

LOLOLOL Thanks DE. thats awesome!

As per "Technique"  I use way more barr chords on electric, also the way you hold the notes and slight changes in muting.  I never really think about it.  Most the time I don't really notice a difference other than open v/s barr.  my acoustic gets beat as bad as a electric LOLOL

Joe, look for a heavy/light set.  EB and GHS have one.

just send that Squire to get the intonation adjusted and you will be happier.

my Strat (Betty) is an Affinity Series HSS.

You'd have been on a plane each way for longer than we played. Next time I have a weekend gig like this, I'll let you know. Probably be until the Spring and I'll hopefully have a new camper by then and it will be outdoors.

We will just plan on Amy's house then big_smile  however your still close to a bunch of my friends in the VA area and WV,,, so looks like that would work also

Eerr, what?  No, I should though.  My son uses it on drums.  It's not every day I'm pumping the volume up.

I just decided to call us that for fun. Scott and Paul, with Cory.
