Ahah, got you!  The song Saturday night fever is actually Night Fever from the film Saturday Night Fever!

How about Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2
                Blue Monday - Bob Seger
Ruby Tuesday - Melanie (ok, I cheated)
Wednesday Morning, 3am - Simon & Garfunkel (ok, I cheated again)
                Thursday - Jim Croce
Friday I'm In Love - The Cure
Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting - Elton John

Old Doll

now we all know the type of bar you hang out in!  You should be ashamed for you know it wasn't fancy dress lol

I hope you didn't try for one of your 5 portions with the oranges!

This All Hallows E'en I believe I shall dress as... a bus driver.  Possibly.  Or maybe a Police Officer.... possibly!  Someone has to walk the thin blue line!

It's fantastic people watching!  Drinking should be a spectator sport!

Saturday 18th June 2005 so not actually last year!  Check it out on "Bullet In A Bible".  One of the best gigs I've ever been to.

I wonder if anyone else spotted the irony of 65000 people singing "Minority" in perfect unison?  Life Of Brian, anyone?

lol

No, not Billy Joe - St James Page of the mighty Zeppelin!

Mind you after seeing Green Day last year with 65000 other people in a field, I wouldn't say no to one of his guitars!

I'm off the alcohol tonight as I feel somewhat shaky from last night still!

All the best,

I got the Wolf Blass from Tesco - they really are taking over the world but bloody good wines nonetheless!

Disappointing to hear that your family history is mouldering away in locked safes instead of enriching lives cool

I forgot to pick up my passengers today so relief all round I feel!

Eagle Hawk is 99p more than the Shiraz Cab Sauv so nope, aint tried it... yet lol!

Hi Doll

Yes, Wolf Blass is wonderful at just £5.00 a bottle, just the thing on a cold night when your wife is in Newcastle and you are not!  Went down a treat with my stir fry that I made on my own with only natural ingredients and no Chinese takeaways involved at all.  Probably Indian tomorrow though.

The Hollies are wonderful too, and my age has never stood in the way of a good song!

Lena, which group were you singer for?  I'd love to hear more!

And I've decided against watching that film as it was a daft idea lol!

take care

Ken - If there's one thing I've learned from coming on this site, it's how to annoy moderators, first Roger and now you!  I've read quite a few of your posts and your sense of humour is probably as bizarre to some as mine.

I'll point out here and now that I not here to pixx people off.  If you extrapolate the theory behind the proposition "Scots English is incomprehensible to the English and should be banned"  Then you'll realise that it actually highlights the narrow mindedness of the English rather than denigrates any other culture.

I wasn't aware that we were arguing, merely... discussing

I'm glad we had this chance to communicate!

Mind you, be an excuse for me not to play which would be a bonus for everyone else

Thanks for reminding me of Jackie Gleason's line, Doll... I think it came from Smokie and the Bandit - brilliant film!  Oh, yeah and I was linking around from here earlier and found FoC with your "Treasure" song playing and it damn near broke my heart.  Any time you denigrate your talent, I'm gonna come around and kick you in the Butt for being a liar!

James, anything that John Cusack ever said is OK with me, particularly .... anything he said in Grosse Point Blank, my favourite film ever, probably.

I might even watch it again now although i've had a bottle of Wolf Blass Cabernet Sauvignon and i'm driving a bus at 7.30 tomorrow

Would it be greedy to go for St Jimmy's Double neck beast of a guitar?  Two for the price of one so to speak?

Does anybody come on this site without a guitar on their lap/around their neck?  I'm trying it at the moment but my discomfort is so acute that I need to strum!

Hi Lieven

what a strange sentence, I can't make any more sense of it than upyerkilt!

I've got to say I have never seen anyone so inquisitive about everything as you are, I stand in awe!

Briefly, Scots Gaelic and Irish Gaelic are different but related.  Scots English is incomprehensible to the English and should be banned!  English English is the only language worth speaking as it's the only language I know.  Japanese is a "tonal" language with the inflection of the spoken word giving it meaning.

"I love being English - it gives me a great vantage point from which to look down on everyone else"!  Can't remember who said that but it's great for getting into fights tongue

Hey Joe!  Isn't that a song? Welcome to Chordie, a home from home!

I'm still crap after 18 months or so and to be honest haven't got the patience to decipher tabs so you're ahead of me there!

Someone wrote in another thread that you should strum and sing at the same time, this gives you a feel for the rhythms of the song.  Keep listening to the song and try to tune out all the other instruments and voices and work out from the pattern of strumming whether it's up or down.  That's another valid method.  The third is to do as you feel!  I use a combination of all three.

Have fun!

Something real expensive that I could sell for a huge profit and buy lots of decent guitars with!  Maybe just the telecaster that Ralph Macchio used in "Crossroads"

I remember being shocked when she said that thing about the flute - she looked so sweet!

One of my favourite film quotes of all time:

Princess Leia: "I love you"
Han Solo (about to be freeze dried for eternity) "I know"
