Here is my version of Grah1's Xmas carol:

It was quickly recorded between dropping off wife at shops and making kids lunch, so I fluffed up the mid8 that goes back to the verse turn around ... I probably had enough time to re-record it in hindsight, but this is first take, warts 'n' all ...

Enjoy!

Richard

Richard, that was well done, really good cover of Grah`s song.  I couldn't hear any fluffed-up bits, you did it proud.

TIGLJK, brilliant piece of writing again.  I hope I get a chance to attempt this one for you.  It's just going to be a time thing for me, trying to fit it in.

Brian, I went to have another listen and it's gone from sound cloud, did you remove your entry?

Oh wow, here we are already looking for SUGGESTIONS JANUARY 2023.

Well done Brian, definately story telling time lol.  Your first off, the bat again smile  Hey, you will have to repost your entry though into the appropriate Topic which I haven't put up yet, I will be putting it up tomorrow as this is only for suggestions and I will be closing this one off.

Nice one neophytte, hope to hear this one covered too.

neophytte, great to see you performing with a fellow musician.  Great to hear an original song, Driving Rain too and you performed well together.  I liked the backup vocals you added to his song.

Also, your other song, swinging on a star an oldie but a goodie, I haven't heard that in a very long time.

Girl from Ipanema which uses the sentence "she walks to the sea" ...

Enjoy!

Nice cover of a good old song.  On a side note, the balance was good with vocals and guitar on this one, you got it just right.

As previously said Phill, an excellent performance and so good to see you back performing again, you have such a talent.

Cool neo and Grah, thanks for suggestions.  Be good to see someone have ago at your song next month Grah1.

Anymore suggestions for next month December?

You sing this song with a ton of attitude. Very enjoyable and great to hear you sing and play again, you got the uke/voice mix perfect. You may not believe this but I've only recently heard this song for the first time? Well done.

Thanks, Phill, for taking a listen and comments.    Oh wow, amazed you hadn't heard this song until recently, an oldie but a goodie smile

neophytte, nice vocals from Lesley and nice guitar work from you.   Thanks for the comment on my song and yes as I mentioned under my reply to Jets60, I had recorded this song b4 on garage band which I had totally forgotten about.

Hi Phill, this needs to go into the FSOTM November thread, not as a separate topic and thread.  Will be trying to move it if I can, hopefully it doesn't get lost.

Good one Grah1.  Doesn't help that farmers are being targeted by govts worldwide, stinks of an agenda, I`ll leave it at that so as not to get political on here hmm smile

Here`s my very quick attempt tonight to cover a song for the month.   Finding it a bit difficult to record anything let alone play/sing anything at the moment as we are renovating and the room I play in and record in is fill of furniture.  A bit of a mission to set up the recording gear.  Very rusty as haven't been playing or singing much lately.

Loved that Jan. I detected no rust. Your uke was jamming and your voice was sweet and lovely!

Thanks jets60 for having a listen and your comments.   It will be nice to have all the furniture out of this room so I can setup properly but I`m not complaining, glad renovations are happening smile

So, I realized that I have already recorded this song for FSOTM  3 months ago duh, totally forgotten I had, only difference was I recorded it on Garage band to try it out https://soundcloud.com/ukulelejan/my-so … e-you-seen

Peatle, I hope your able to get your hands sorted soon, must be quite annoying for you not to be able to play guitar and piano.  As easybeat said, at least you can still write songs and poetry which I know your good at and enjoy smile

Jets60, nicely performed and written, well done.  Your another one on here that song writing seems to just flow out of you.  Enjoyed it.  I could listen on Soundcloud but your other link,  studio, you tube,  didn't work, open for me, so could view it.

Thanks, Jan and Sorry about that - you can hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPy_iuxuVLY

The other link, that I originally posted, is just where only I can edit. Again, so sorry. This video is from the night I initially wrote in a songwriting contest a couple of years ago, where I had to write 5 songs in 5 days with different writing directions each day. Anyway, I normally post recordings but here you can actually see me performing this one for a change.

Jets60, it works now, yay smile So good to see your face while you're singing the song.  Once again, a great song by you smile

Phill, that was great, really enjoyed it, found myself singing along with you big_smile .  Great to hear you performing again and hope we hear more from you in the future smile  PS:  If you get a chance, can you flick this into FSOTM thread for November, just so makes it easy to follow the links when I put them up in the monthly submissions.  Cheers.

TIGLJK I commented on this already on FSOTM but nicely done.  I am always confused about the ~bridge~ thing too.

Nicely done Jets60, definitely can see this being sung by a cowboy around a campfire.  I reckon it would also have suited a whistle in the interval part smile
