Thanks all. The Zoom program has a direct link to Youtube for up loading so that part should not be a problem but i'm not sure.  As I understand it's suppose to compress the MOV file to WMV but MOV is supposed to be compatable, not sure about that either. Both are listed as such in Zoom's limited user manual. The file is only about  2 1/2 minutes long so it shouldn't be to large.
I have one or two more things to try. Russell if these don't work I'll email you if that's alright ?

I recently uploaded a video to Youtube. First very easy, now not so much fun. This process has turned into a techno nightmare. Now I can't get a second video uploaded to save my soul. It fails every time. The more I try to research the problem the more confused I get. I don't even want to deal with the problem anymore. I've wasted so much time trying to do this it's not even fun anymore. I can't believe with all I've accomplished in my life I can't upload a stupid video on Youtube. There's probably a  million garandma's out there in cyberspace who can do it,and I can't. Any way keep your eyes open the Q3hd may end up on the for sale site here shortly.

I just tried the link and it works. Pete, Thanks a lot. I knew someone here could help me. It's why I like being involed with everyone here. It's a great place for all kinds of help.
By the way Pete, I know of at least a dozen companies who could use your help. Your instructions were so simple to follow even I could do it. No so with instructions I tried to follow from other sites lately. You made my day, thanks again.

Butch, Hope all goes well for you. Just thinking about your guitar playing. Ever think about trying slide or dobro. You wouldn't need to try to form chords, just move the slide around.

Just uploaded my first video to YouYube. Zoom Q3HD very easy to record with and edit but a pain  to upload. I'm not an expert on the net and I spent a lot of time fiquring out what the user guide doesn't tell you. They assume you know all the lingo and can figure out the steps they don't explain. It's my first try at videos and I see some changes that need to be made. Any way if your interested in viewing go to YouTube and type in ; The Old Double Diamond or MrBunkhousejoe. I'm open to all suggestions anyone has.

Amy,
I have owned four different martin's over the years. I only bought one over the net and it was a bottom line and played and sounded very sweet. I still have two higher ends that I truly love and won't part with. I think you should find one you can play before you buy. This is something you've been waiting for for a while it sounds like and you probably are going to spend a little more than you really want.Take the time ,enjoy the search. It's going to be a fun and rewarding experience, enjoy it as much as you can. Then you won't be thinking later...should I have tried this one or that one first. My last martin I spent way more than I wanted to . I traded in a nice Taylor and saved up a lot of spare cash. I went to the guitar shop played three different martin's. I took the one I had originally went to see. I love it and was glad I played it and a few others. It's my most prized guitar ever with a to die for sound. I'm glad I took the time. Have fun and tell us how it all works out.

I'm with you guys. F chord has never been a problem, I use all four fingers to play it. But that doggone B chord. I've been playing for 40 some odd years and still the quickest way for me is to Barre it. I shold make it my goal to get it worked out.
Hang in there people, we can get it.

Zurf, I think you meant to say Dobie Gray. Dobie Gillis was the 60's TV character. I guess I just showed my age !!  Anyway cool new trick.

I'd like to add this. Keep writing songs no matter how good or bad you think they'll be. The more you write the better your songs will get. Not every one you write is going to be the best . Keep on writing and soon each one will feel better than the previous one. You will develop as a writer. It can be frustrating ,but very rewarding.

No songs don't have to rhyme, It's called Free Verse. Many people use it. There's lots of good sharing of info here. Remember there is not a hard set rules. If you like it and it sounds good and your delivery is smooth the song will be good. I've used all of these methods at one time or another.I think most people end up with more than one method if they write numerous songs.
You can't force them , they work their way out on their own.
One thing I do is pick a title or story line. Think of a picture and write down all you see in that picture.Write down anything that comes to mind about that. It can be a word or a line. It doesn't have to thyme or make sense, just write the ideas. After you get a page or so with enough written down let it soak in your mind for awhile. Soon Verses will start to come to mind ,write those down and keep thinking about what you want to say. Think about your chorus if you want one, You don't really need a chorus (Free Verse).
Investigate other songs you like and pick them apart as to how you think they were written. Don't get stuck on someone elese's song content. Look at how the song is formed: Verses/chorus/bridge. Chord patterns or lack of chords and pauses in a song.
A rhyming dictionary can be helpful also.
Good luck and have fun with it. Oh yeah, it's okay if you don't finish it for months or years . We all have unfinished songs sitting around waiting to be completed.

Does anyone have experience with the Zoom Q3HD ? I've been messing around the last few weeks trying to get sound and video correct. My unit didn't have needed software on the SD card so I had to download it from Zoom. Now I can store the videos on my computer. Instructions not very good!!! I'm not the brightest candle on the cake but i'm not stupid. I'm having a HEL? of a time putting this together. It should be simple. That's why I bought the Zoom.
My question ? My videos seem to be stopping and starting and not insync with audio. Has anyone had this problem ? Does anyone know how to correct it ?
I know someone here probably has an answer. Thanks.
