Peatle   This is awesome ! Great insight into many problems caused by the cell phone.
I quite agree with Brian - the guitar work is fantastic and fit perfectly with your voice.
Excellent rendition, excellent lyrics, so passionate !
The video is great !
Fantastic presentation , my friend !

Jim

p.s. you should post the lyrics !

Richard
Very well done - I think there were a few times when you " let go" and sang like the boss!  Great guitar playing !

I think if you could have somehow increased the vocal and decreased the guitar it would have enhanced it.

In any case it  was a superb rendition o Bruce's song.

I recorded the song this morning - only had time for one take.
I have no idea why I sang it and played it like I did.... but I thought it came out ok.
Apologies to your ears ! smile

Thanks for all the comments !

Graham - yes - quite sad - I can't really say why - guess it was just the mood I was in.
Easybeat - I like the lyrics - IDK about being my best, as I can't sing a lick, so it only sounds good in my head. smile
Peatle - thanks for giving it a go - I always like when others do my songs - it is so interesting
to see how others interpret the lyrics and play the music. I like how you did the chorus - with the walk down !
Phill - Thanks for giving it a look - yeah a bit on the downside - just trying to envision a person
trying to figure out what the heck went wrong in a relationship - and knowing it isn't going to
get fixed.

Thank you all - I will try to get it recorded so you can hear what it sounds like to me.

Time Whispers by Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

.

[C] It feels like we’ve been lost

[C]at sea for months

as I [F] sit in a house, that’s filled

with [C] everything but love

.

[C] who was it that said,

[C]don’t build your house on sand ?

It will [F] crumble in the storms,

‘til there’s [C] nothing left, to speak of

.

Chorus

as [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

and [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

.

Verse 2

.

[C] Seems that we’ve forgotten

[C] Why our lips have kissed

And how [F] our hearts used to

beat [C] together as one

.

[C] every road is lonely now

[C] every word prays for help

What was [F]once, now is

gone , and [C] the passion’s done

.

Chorus

.

as [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

and [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

.

Verse 3

.

[C] was it chances afraid to take

[C] promises we didn’t keep

maybe[F] secrets we didn’t share

or words [C] spoken long ago

.

[C] feelings that aren’t the same

[C] hearts with too much ache

Why this [F]love story has to end

I guess [C] we’ll never know

.

Chorus

as [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

and [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

.

(fade out)

as [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]wayy

and [G] time whispers [F] love is slipping a[C]way

Here is my entry   - as usual - I used all the words.
I posted it in songwriting as well

Sorry for the loss for all of the UK and the World. She was a kind soul who symbolized what a leader should be.
The world is a better place b/c of her.  I wish our leaders today had her mentality and compassion.
The epitome of class!

Best wishes to King Charles III    and all of England.

Jim

Nicely done Brian - I kept waiting for the whistling ! smile  Quite agree with Peatle - guitar playing is very good.  thanks for starting this month off !

yes Peatle - very good ! love the lyrics - words are very true.  Totally agree with what Richard Morse said !

UJB -   sounds great - wish video was clearer.    Nice playing and singing - cool song - did you write it ?

that would be so awesome - love to experience it

Richard

very nice cover of this song.
I had not heard this for a long time thoroughly enjoyed it !

Jan - Girl with the golden voice ! She should have been in a recording studio years ago IMHO !

Just leaves it to imagination what she would sound like with a band rather than her Uke (which is very good! )

A new song I wrote - pretty much thinking about when I was first dating my wife. ( and being scared to tell her those three magic words smile  !!!    I chose the title bc - it seemed to capture  what happened - we've been married 39 years  smile
I borrowed a couple lines from the Bible - but I figured if the Byrds could do a whole song (Turn,Turn Turn) , I could pilfer a couple sentences. smile  Still needs some tweaking - feed back is appreciated !

Here To Stay by Jim Kenyon

.

Verse 1

[G]Well I‘ve been too scared to [C]say thatI [G]love you

Oh, I [G]want to, but I’m [C]really not sure [G]how

I guess in [C]love, you don’t need any [G]reasons

But I [D]know that I could [C] use a couple [G]now

.

Verse 2

.

[G]You and I are far from [C]perfect, as we both[G]know

but we [G]are perfect for each [C] other it now [G] seems

You know it’s [C] love when you can't fall [G]asleep

Because[D] reality is [C] better than my [G] dreams

Chorus

.

[C]Love is always patient [G]Love is always kind

[C]Love endures whatever comes it’s [G]way

And it’s [C] always ready to offer trust and[G] comfort

Oh, I [D]surely hope that [C] love is here to [G] stay

.

Verse 3

.

[G]How you hold me at night, just[C]drives me [G] wild

and your [G]kisses, bring out the [C]hot desire in [G]me

you make me[C] smile even when you’re not [G]around

lost with [D]you for[C]ever, is where I want to [G]be.

.

Chorus

.

[C]Love is always patient [G]Love is always kind

[C]Love endures whatever comes it’s [G]way

And it’s [C] always ready to offer trust and[G] comfort

Oh, I [D]surely hope that [C] love is here to [G] stay

Oh, I [D]surely hope that [C] love is here to [G] stay

Oh, I [D]surely hope that [C] love is here to [G] stay

Graham

How long does it take to get a band to be able to nail a song completely ?  If you are adding nine songs it must take quite a bit of practice and tweaking.
Have you been playing together a long time.

I ask you these questions bc I know it takes me a long time just to remember the lyrics smile

and as to my critique of the song, I am an expert on bad timing and voicing bc all my songs are that way smile

I am looking forward to your new posts on the songs !  Once again , I AM SOOOO JEALOUS - I wish I had the talent to be a performer.

Sounded great - loved the songs except - knocking on Heavens door. Thought the timing or voicing of the lyrics was off.
Still-  it is awesome you and the boys can do this.. Great sound - lots of fun - I am jealous !
