So sad!
May God give those left behind the strength they need to get through this tragedy.

This is one I do on Mother's day but just change the gender words and it would be a great Daddy song too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoGGLccLvOY

Box showed up in lovely Las Vegas yesterday! It took it's sweet time getting here from the east coast but I can't blame it - the weather is nice and its a great time of year for a scenic drive.

Sadly, I'm headed to San Fran for work in about 90 minutes so I'll have to wait and open it once I get back!

East coast? Did someone move Louisiana?
This ia great news. I was afraid the Feds might have thought the addition I made was a bomb and was going to come get us all!

Congrats Zurf.  I had a pop-up I bought from my mother-in-law after my father-in-law passed away. It folded out to 24' and had all the amenities but it was a strain to pull it with my Ranger or Subaru - some of the older pop-ups could be pretty heavy..  I took out some of the cabinets and heavier stuff to lighten it up and it made a fine place for guitar pickers to gather during a rain storm as there was room for several chairs.  It was nicknamed the "Sawmill" by my Kentucky guitar-pickin' friends.  Last year I watched an old retired navy vet, missing one leg, try to crawl in and out of his tent while we were camping.  I offered to let him use my camper and it made it a lot easier for him to get in and out of bed, etc.  I told him I was thinking about selling it as my wife and I were talking about getting a smaller pop-up since its now just the two of us. He didn't have the money so after conferring with my wife I offered to just give it to him.  He was too proud to take it without paying so I offered to make a trade instead and he agreed.  He now has the camper and I have an extra 2-man backpack  tent.
I've been looking around for a small unit that folds out to 16' or so.  I figure I'll run into a used one sooner or later.

Is you camper gonna become "picker's central" when we get together this summer????

First off, Great! and good for you! Someone needs to be getting some use out of this thing.Different folks like to do  different things while "Camping". No computer nor Cell phones for me while camping but hey, I  have seen RVs of all types sit on a camp sites all weekend with no body moving about. I don't know what  they do but at least they are not bothering me. Enjoy it.

We  went through Minden, La. to get to a Scottish festival yesterday and met a couple from our home town who were performing there.I see them jogging and cycling but did not know their names or anything about them. She plays the Hammer Dulcimer and he plays Guitar, Mandolin and Squeeze box. They invited me to an open mike gathering on the first Thursday night of each month which I am probably going to check out. Any way, back to Minden.
I knew there should be a music shop in Minden so I found Mr. W.D. Roberts shop listed. On the way home from a wonderful time at the festival we stopped by and found Mr. Roberts playing Steel guitar ,Mr. Bass playing Resonator Guitar and a lady and 3 other gentlemen on guitars taking turns singing lead. After brief introductions my wife and I sat and listened  to a couple of songs and then Mr. Roberts popped the question! Do you play? I didn't know what to say. I've been doing this for over 25 years and still can't put 5 chord changes together without deadening some strings and this man has played Steel  on songs and albums for over 40 years I learned. What type music do you play? Mostly Gospel.Wonderful! Then someone hands me an Epiphone with the covering still on the pick guard and says play something. (More people had come in and the shop was getting full.) These folks were so hospitable I wasn't really nervous and did one of the few songs I can do completely with no words or chords before me, Amazing Grace. It was so much fun to finally play with other players and singers. When I sang the last verse we went into an instrumental verse and the Steel added so much to the sound. I realized I should have not sung the last verse until after the instrumental but my mind was going 90 to nothing. My wife said it sounded very good. I had a blast! At least I got invited back.
I apologize for the long post. I went in there looking for a Snarp tuner. He didn't have one at present but I left with a great memory. Check out these pictures from years past
http://www.mindenmemories.org/W.%20D.%2 … 20Shop.htm  and if your ever in Minden, Louisiana stop in .

I taught my 9 year old grandson the one finger version of G and C chords and 3 finger D7. Now at 11 he is showing me stuff. I have to give chordie a lot of the credit.
