Cool beans!  Do you introduce yourself as King of the Mutants, and then show them how you can make that guitar submit to your own will in defiance of the laws of physics and anatomy?

Zurf I don't say anything but i listen to what others say good or bad hopefully I hear more positive then the other way  around.I do work on stretching my fingers for some chords and making up scales to run up and down the neck thats about it.I do get inspired each day to practice especially with my Les Paul and I recently purchased a Ditto looper which I really like for the simplicity smile

Well i'm not trying to pick on ya Russ, fact is i'm twice the age of a few band members .

Those gigs that end @ 2-3a.m. humping gear around wear me out ....:(

But by gawd, it sure is fun while we're all up there!....:)

~S~

I have to agree with you on hauling gear, I pay my neighbor to do it he is a semi pro football player and can use the extra cash. We limit our gigs to 3 hrs.or less and I must agree it is fun to show off your stuff, I didn't feel you were picking on me my hide is a little thicker then that i was just making a point for what reason I seem to forget at the moment lol

True, no place to hide we try to keep the arrangements simple I am limited on solo work BUT I have been working with a looper and getting the timing right is critical I found using zero effects is best more to come thanks for watching smile

You're some technically adept for an old guy Russ , i usually gotta find someone under 30 to show me stuff like that....and then find where i hid my glasses....~S~

I cannot deny my age (75) but age is irrelevant what's in you heart and one's desire to perfect there ability is all that matters my brother has a big band in Las Vegas he gleaned all the best talented musicians available to play with him he is 86 and still a fantastic trumpet player I don't have a secret I just practice every day that's it. smile

I do not know who will win all I can say is it depends on the individual performance of each team I hope the Packers continue but Dallas has an excellent team both defense and offense and there playing at home Green Bay will have to really be on top of there game offensive and defense I'm nervous about this one no predictions just hope.

Wow there are so many great songs from this era the Bee Gees were unique and they produced classics like this song. We have already started to book some dates for the band in the coming year and this songs is a excellent song to get people to want to hold on to each other and remains one of my favorite choices to sing, hope you give a look when you have a few minutes.

I have zero idea of what green screen is Russ, but it's way cool and would like to learn more   ~S~

There are several ways to achieve a green scree effect but the easiest is go to Walmart,Target or another retail giant and they sell green fabric you also need to make sure you get enough to span the entire background of your studio so everyone in the band fits including the sides. next you need a camera that has a wide angle lens I have a Sony HDR-MVI movie cam with large mic's they can be obtained on the web, a tripod or someone holding the camera and last you need a green screen video program I would suggest the one I have it is very inexpensive at around 25 dollars or so called TrakAx make sure it has green screen editing there are free video tutorials that are included to help you edit and depending on how quick you can learn(it takes a bit of time and patience) last you need a video to put in the back it can be a photo or whatever but make sure you dont wear any green clothing or you will be invisible :lol; if you need any help let me know smile almost forgot LIGHTING you need to have front indirect (aim at ceiling ) and back lighting to cancel out the shadows on the green screen.

yes we started at 9:30am the guys get together when we can due to work and personal time restrictions we turned our drummer Gary Klever loose on a John Foggerty song "Born On The Bayou" which we added to our list. I get to play my Les Paul and crank it out a bit.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHbfRby … e=youtu.be

I completely agree, Russell ...

The original version in DADGAD tuning is the best. I'm just too lazy to tune / retune for one song. lol Also, this abbreviated version of mine sounds (to my ears) better on an acoustic than does the original. That was the main reason I wanted a work-a-round, i.e., for an acoustic version in standard tuning, that enabled me to sing along easier while playing it.

I can't wait to hear yours!

we get together next tuesday I think charting out the arrangement will make it easier for me to remember or just re-arranging it because some of it is redundant, keep in mind this was performed for a live concert audience before it was recorded and the arrangement is a little different so no reason I cant take a little liberty just as long as the lyrics are there and the different sections of the song are also

Russell ...

I hear you loud & clear about trying to sing & play "Kashmir" at the same time ... a bit of schizophrenia might be handy! lol I came up with a somewhat simplified arrangement of it (played in A) which can be done in standard tuning, and sung along to a bit easier. The basic riff involves using your A-string as the drone, and working up the G-string with the note progression, while hitting the open D along with the progression, and alternately striking the open A. It works well on acoustic, and also suits my vocal register a bit better ... give it a try.
