Those are cool!!!!!!!! I have always eyed those sort of things and talked myself down. I keep thinking "I can hardly play these guitars!!". My kids would love them too and your wife must be a saint! If it were me I'd be doing a cover of Little Feat's Spanish Moon. Those were MADE for that!!!

I too am challenged. It seems the harder I try or the worse it is. My advice is relax a few beers/drinks (or whatever you fancy) is helpful. Not too many though as thent he fret work gets sloppy. Metronome helps too as everyone eludes to above. Drum machine is fun too.

Happy Birthday..What's that saying you fisherman use "The worst day of fishing is better than the best day of work" or something similar?

I've always sung the praises of Elixir Nanos. I recently bought EXP's for my electrics and I'm kind of liking them.....Nanos don't seem to lkast as long as they used to ot maybe I'm just playing more. My complaint is mostly price. You can get some swinging deals on multi packs but never with Elixir. I might be switching. On the elctrics, I think EXP's sound better.

Congrats on the new guitar. I hope it continues to bring you happiness. She's very pretty. Also, I'm glad to hear you've won a battle with your insurance company. Keep smiling Doc!!! Good things happen to good people

That's a pretty neat unit. If you need a replacement unit, I can't see how your insurance company could say no.

Dark Side of the Moon; Sgt Pepper both for different reasons

http://www.e-chords.com/ have a lot of songs with various musical instrument icons beside them including Piano/Kbd WITH the Piano chords printed INCLUDING fingering.

I hope this adds to your arsenal of info - I'm off to check out Waynes site!

Chons da!!!

I use this site to. I hack my way through one handed piano wizadry thanks to the info. What's great is if you have a MIDI out on your keyboard, you can turn those keys into just about anything....costs me hours of sleep!!!! Have fun.

Very touching lyrics. Top notch...lost my dad a few years back, I can certainly relate. Thanks for sharing.

That's great but at the same time so sad and tragic. What courage and grace to let that anger go...God Bless him. The world owes him so good fortune

Black Crowes...although they seem to get along fairly well. Kinks???

Did you have a hard time playing standing up? I had played so long sittng it was a hard transition for me. I am still a better sitting guitarist than standing guitarist. Not sure that'll ever change.

I'd say change 'em once a month or so on a couple hrs a day...maybe even a little more often. As you get more into it you'll be able to tell when they need changing; they get flat or dull (for lack of better words). If you're having trouble with a particular string always fraying or breaking this may be a sympton of another problem. You may want to look at the nut (thing the strings pass through before the headstock). If it's not smooth sometimes that'll cause a string to wear or fray prematurely. Just a thought. It's OK to change just one....no law against it but it seems alamost as much effort to change one as all so you may just want to change 'em all.

I always hated pulling out the bridge pins. My little bit of advice is buy a good, expensive bridge pin puller, Makes a world of difference

I like to release all the tension from the strings so I can reach in the soundhole and push them up from the bottom... That way there's no worries about marking the bridge or pins. A good puller does make a difference though... I hate seeing people do this with a pair of pliers...Cringe

That used to be me...electricians side cutters no less!!!! Pushing up from underneath is great advice. I've had to do it in the past with broken pins but why not all the time????

Another cool thing I bought is the Ernie Ball Electric String Winder...Looks like a little drill. I know seems lazy and lame but it's pretty cool. Admittedly, I do love the gadgets.

Ken...in a word.... brilliant

Recording was top notch as well but I think that song would have shone through a bad mix

When I first started recording I always used my built in pick up. I bought an Alvarez 12 string and decided I'd try a promag sound hole pick up. I was unhappy with that so I miked it. Holy crap what a great sound with a condensor mic. Not sure I'll ever install a permanent pick up. Not sure if this works for "giggers" but suits me well. You're right it does take a bit to get the sweet spot but once you do the results are awesome.
