Thanks, that puts me on the trail. Now that I know the title, I can find the CD that will have it.
Muchas Gracias!
I'm afraid I don't have any more info. Koko Taylor just passed away at age 80 and was not the biggest name in the Blues Circuit. I can only say that I saw her in the 70's in the Memorial Student Union building at University of New Hampshire way back in the mid 70's. In a room that held, at most 100 people, and there were not even that many there. I do remember her voice was raw, powerful and BLUESY to the MAX.
And what complicates things for me is, that many a Blues song was written by people who's names are vanished or obscure. If push comes to shove, I'll dig thru the internet and strange music shops until I find what I seek.
And when I set my mind to find something, I'll find it! I'm just hoping that the knowledge depth here on Chordie will get me there sooner.
Thanks for asking!
One of my favorite blues songs was sung by Koko Taylor. It's basic line was, "You don't mess with Mother Nature". I don't know the exact title or who wrote. I'm looking for the chords and lyrics.
Any info will be muchly appreciated!
Gracias
I used to have a button that said, "Your perverted, twisted and sick.......I like that in a person."
LOL

Violence is wrong, but someone's gotta do it!! LOL!!!
Do unto other's as other's have done to you !!!!Hee hee hee hee!!
I like that, a permanent feature of the jerks computer that delivers the shock every time they try to develop a virus or do an illegal hack. AND the shocks increase in intensity each time.
I have to admit violent fantasies are very good for relieving stress!!
Riverdales wrote:I'm cool now I just got peeved cause that was so stupid! I was only trying to help! Now that's a great idea OZY It's not even twelve noon here but like the song says it 5 O' clock somewhere!! CHeers!! Seriously a virus can be very costly!!!
Yeah, we got hit by one, just as we were having the new set up built. So when we gave them the old tower and hard drive we could warn them and they managed to get it.
I have this fantasy of having a program that defends my computer by detecting a virus and then sending it back to the source. The only difference, is my program would cause the jerks computer to explode while they were sitting at it.
Yeah, it's violent, but, it would certainly cut down on hackers! <evil grin>
Lets all chill and play some tunes, then kick back and mellow out with a favorite beverage.
Now, we should all hug and sing "Kum bay Yah". ; )
<grin>
My daughter started out on a cheap Silverton guitar that had been sitting in the Grandparents house untouched for decades. When we felt she was serious about playing, we went to a good Guitar shop, "The Vintage Fret Shop" in Ashland NH and bought a better one that was also more comfortable for her to play on.
So yeah, start with cheap and when you want to upgrade find a good store and try as many as you can before doing so. It'll be worth it. And keep the cheap one for just banging around on.
I recommend this site to everyone I know who loves music. I just learned recently that my two nieces have started to learn to play the Banjo and Mandolin respectively. And I intend to share this site with them. I like that this site is a safe place for kids.
Keep up the good work folks!
Way back when we first got computerized, we had Norton/Symantec and we had some irritating problems, unpredictable scanning times, really slow access and weird stuff, etc. When we got an upgrade, the computer store we had doing the job, warned us that Norton/Symantec was a program that they would not garauntee. So we got AVG security systems and there have been no problems since. The computer people we deal with have nothing good to say about norton.

Tony liked out of the ordinary. He organised trips to Mhegalaya to map the cave systems there. Whereever he was he could sniff out a place to get a beer or whatever they make and numerous times he was found worse for wear with a smile on his face and the most unlikely drinking companions.
Actually WHEREVER he was, he was found worse for wear with a smile on his face and the most unlikely drinking companions!
He would have approved of anyone walking with their instrument in their own world!
Sounds like the kind of person I can and do appreciate! <grin> I raise my glass of wine to his spirit.
When we were in Largo Florida last December. We stayed at a condo on the beach. Every day, we saw a guy walking up and down the beach strumming a guitar. It was mid or late afternoon.
One time I was on the beach when he came by and I was near enough to hear what he was strumming. But, the odd thing is he was either strumming extremely softly or air strumming and so I heard nothing. I wanted to ask him what he was playing, but he was looking "far away" and it seemed he wasn't interested in any interaction. So I respected his space and watched as he did his "thing". Whatever he was playing he was clearly playing for himself.
Anyway, sorry to go off tangent, but seeing the gent in your pics and then the pic on the beach reminded me of that strolling guitarist on a sunny Indian Rocks Beach in Largo Florida.

A question will be asked and several answers from different perspectives will give you a thorough grasp on something that moments before was in complete darkness. I've not been here long, but I thank PER for his efforts in forming this site. I thank all the moderators for the work and valuable info. And all the members for their contributions.
I've never participated in a forum before, but since I've joined this one I've learned so much about music theory, recording and note value, time signatures, open tunings, links to music info sites and so much more, in only three months. I cannot express my gratitude enough.
Thanks to all who are CHORDIE!!!
Agreed. And I wasn't kidding, if this site ever needs monetary support, tell me.
I have a lot of other favorite lines from many songs as well.
"Don't confront me with my failures.
I've not forgotten them."
"These Days" --Tom Rush
Chordie keeps me going and adds to the pleasure of playing!
Thanks to all who keep this place around!
"I am older now--I have more than what I wanted
but I wish that I had started long before I did."
From "Wasted on the way" by Crosby, Stills and Nash
I'm a little late on the subject, but, yes it bothers me to not find a song I want on here. BUT, I also understand the reasons of copyright and such. And as one who has googled and searched endlessly, there are sites where the songs can be found. It's just a question of persistence and a bit of luck. Am I going to get mad at chordie??? Heck no!! I have found a treasure trove of tunes and such and have added to my music knowledge tremendously by being here.
As for the rules, there's a reason for them...........duuurrrrrr. If ever donations are needed here, let me know, Chordie is too precious for me to lose.

Indeed, the hungrier and better team won against the Bruins. Lets face it, a team that goes up 3 games to 1, wins 75% of the time. The Canes recent experiences and championship paid off and they did what better teams do, finish the deal. I'll root for the Canes as well. Basically, because they have the New England History. (WHA as the New England Whalers, then NHL as the Hartford Whalers, now the Carolina Hurricanes) Remember your roots, Canes and go for it!
Congratulations, now get out there and get that cup.
I've had some wine, may the best team win.

ozy - I don't want to mislead you - I was raised in the Catskills of upstate New York and played organized hockey since I was a wee child. But I have been a transplanted southerner for almost 30 years now. There are a lot of us yankees in the Raleigh area, but honestly even the native Southerners have embraced the Canes. We do tailgate like it's football - I was in the parking lot Friday at 2:00 for a 7:30 game. Tuna steaks have been the grilling choice this post season. Come visit - we'll show you a great time I assure you!
I have a friend and his family in North Carolina. They are also transplanted southerners from the Albany NY area. If we ever do get down there, I'll be sure to let you know. Meeting SouthPaw in Florida was cool and fun. I look forward to meeting more chordie folk. : )

Hey Topdown I bet it's a thrill to see a live playoff game. closest I got was an exhibition game years ago between Boston and Quebec Nordiques when they were in the league.
GO B's Badeye..
Absolutely a thrill Badeye - There is no sport more exciting that playoff hockey. I live about 2 hours from Raleigh, so I don't go to many regular season games, but my brother lives there and is a season ticket holder. He is able to add playoff tickets to his package at the end of the year and this year I committed for the full run. I am guaranteed a seat for $ 40 for as long as it lasts, including the Stanley Cup finals. In '06 those seats sold for over $1,000.
It's one of the advantages of being a small, southern market. I've met habs and leaf's fans who could never find a ticket in their home market and could fly to Raleigh, spend a weekend in a hotel, buy scalped Ebay or stub-hub tickets and get off cheaper than they could see their teams at home.
We do enjoy our hockey here - game 4 on Friday night was the loudest sporting event I have ever witnessed and was almost as loud as some concerts I have been to.
I was always a Bruins fan as a kid, so I will be pulling for them if they take out the Canes.
Good for you. I always found it strange that hockey is in Football and Basketball country, but if this is typical of the support you give your team, then more power to them.
It should be interesting. Bruins haven't gone this far in the playoffs in a long time.
Personally, I'd like to see the NHL take a hard line on thuggery, as in cheap shots, blind side hits or anything that reinforces the image of thuggery. Speed, and skill and the use of legitimate physicality--like a good strong legal check into the boards is ok.
