Niners Panthers is going to be a brutal, bruiser of a game.   The last one was, and I don't think either of those teams has decided "fineness" is the way forward.   It's gonna be a bar brawl.

Oh yeah.  Norton is still pumping out the bikes.  And they're still basically the same bike, but now they have inverted suspensions and hydraulic valve lifters.

They still look awesome, though (if cafe bikes are your thing, and they're my thing.)

It matters not a whit unless someone is paying you to play that song like on the radio.

Otherwise, you should play all covers that way.  Make them yours.

I'm actually going to be in Jacksonville next week. Only two days, though (Monday/Tuesday), and it's work.

I get down that way on a semi-regular basis, though, so if not this time, some other time.  big_smile

I'm always happy to help kids play music.  But when one gets to set the terms of the bet, and then looses said bet, there is a moral obligation to pay up promptly.  big_smile

About 2 minutes left in the NCG.  I don't think Auburn is going to cover the 7 points, but holy cow what a great football game.

Which particular flight deck were you stomping around on?  I stomped around on USS-Ranger (CV-61) for a long time.

My first Carrier was the USS Saratoga CV-60 during Desert Shield [ E-1 doing the 1st Lt. Blues](also had the nick name Resin Head -due to always looking like I was stoned during this time frame)

So you were sailing circles in the Red Sea at the same time I was sailing them in the Persian Gulf.   I thought you looked familiar.  big_smile

I just strum a chord, and hum or sing a single note to get "in key."  Then I start.

As for my first 8 years in the military I was MaGoo, morphed to Magoover,  which was a combo of MacGyver and which was also the name we gave to Swiss army knives and Leatherman tools. (both of which were big no-no’s since they were unaccounted tools on the flight deck) (Hey MacGyver could do anything with a Swiss army knife and some paperclips and a coat hanger!)
Not to mention when you guys see me at chordie stock,, by the latter part of the evening you will totally “get” the reasons for which I became Magoo.

The Packers are injured all over, though, and the 49ers ground game is great, so it should be a good game either way.

I'd rather see Green Bay out here, though, so I'm pulling for them and the Eagles to beat New Orleans.

I haven't played much bass -- how many different effects are there for bass?

About as many as there are for guitar.  There are 80 preset patches on my pedal board, and that's just from the factory.   You have the same kind of head/cab modeling wizardry you see with guitars, too.

Point being, if you're going to go DI, then you can give yourself a whole lot more flexibility and growth potential by using something to act as a line input into your PA rather than getting a cheaper, smaller amp you aren't going to like.   In fact, if you're going to go directly into your PA you don't need any equipment at all.   Just plug the guitar directly into one of the board's line inputs and be done with it.   If you want the signal treated, you can just use a patch send or aux send to do it, just like you would any other signal on your board.

I agree the SEC is a far superior conference top to bottom. But I also believe FSU is a far superior team than Auburn. Absolutely, I'll take your bet, I have FSU +7 for a Benji

Woohoo!!!

Now I'm interested in the game.  big_smile

That looks like "I laid my guitar down flat and my toddler sat on it."

Which isn't "The two year old did this."

That's "I did this."

How many points are you giving jerome? I'm in for $100 straight up if you'd like. I'll lay $500 if you give me 7 points.

I'll take 7 points and $100, sure.

But I'll give you one chance to reconsider.

ACC's record in bowls to date:

Pittsburg barely beat Bowling Green and Syracuse squeaked by Minnesota  -  And that's about as good as it gets.

Marshall beat Maryland, and Duke blew a huge halftime lead to Johnny Football.

The ACC "Powerhouse" teams have fared much less well

Miami got blown out by Louisville,  Ol' Miss beat Ga Tech easily, Arizona destroyed Boston College, and yesterday UCLA rubbed VA Tech's nose in it for four quarters.   We will see what Clemson can do against Ohio State today, but OSU plays the same kind of football South Carolina does, and we know what happened there.

The ACC is a weak conference that gets exposed every time it plays any kind of decent out of conference opponent.  It's been that way for years.

So Auburn by a TD or I send you a Benjamin?

If you're going to run the amp into the PA,  just forgo the amp, buy a nice bass effects board, and run it's output directly to the PA.   That gets you your amplification, a ton of tones, and means you're not tossing out gear if you decide to get a real amplifier in the future.    Bass needs amps to push those low frequencies.  I've got a 250W Ampeg and it was big enough for smaller venues and bars, but gets swallowed up in bigger places.

I've got a Zoom B9 stomp box that is fantastic.   Zoom makes good stuff.

I do not think I will be able too watch it it is not on my tv listings.

It's on ESPN and being played in the Rose Bowl (but is not, for the record, the Granddaddy of them All) on the 6th, so it should be on TV somewhere.
