hi trevor,

it's that old story of unrequited love. [haven't the faintest what that means] but if i had to guess it would be that she made you fall in love with her, then decided that she didn't want you after all...women!

nice little song

Hiyah  and thanks,

Daddy,

Glad you like it, you were in the back of my mind as I wrote this. COOL IT BABY!

Hi KajiMa,

No problemo amigo, if you want to cover it I would be over joyed, I'd love to hear the result though. Songs are meant to be played and shared, and there's no buzz like what you get hearing someone else singing your words.

Hey Kenny,

Always great to hear from you, I thought I had posted "Princess" I shall check and if I haven't I shall rectify the situation ASAP.
"Fading Away" is an old song, at least 30 years old and it's about a young lady I knew just after I got divorced, but before I met Ann. It's funny how relationships just sort of fade out like a pop song?

Hi Ark,

Thank you for the kind words. "Princess" is a bit of a fantasy thing. I think about certain people when I write, and I know Lena is into this type of thing, and she was on my mind when I was writing. Hope she's doing OK.

hi gtx,

i've got a crafter fx55, and i love it, it's left hand, a sort of greenie blue colour and with a built in pick up.

i'd seen it in a shop in swansea, south wales, and picked it up to waste a few minutes. my wife phoned me an hour later! so i went back a couple of days later and bought it....one perfect thing in my life....after my wife of course.

enjoy it, and welcome to chordie

This is a bit of fun to help me relax. it's on soundclick, so click the link at the bottom and then click my name under my photo. There's another two new recordings there too!

Fun For Me and Jeb.Undefined

[C] Well my teeth don't fit and my eyes don't go.

I walk with a limp and my butt is sore.

My [C7] lights are on but there's no one home [F] today.

And the [Fm] girls round here dont want to come and [C] play.

So I [Dm7] know, [G] I'll have to [C] go.

[C] I had new shoes two years ago.

The heel's worn flat and the soles got holes.

And my [C7] hair looks like it needs a damn good [F] wash.

I got [Fm] one front tooth and my eyes are [C] crossed.

So I [Dm7] know, [G] I've got to [C] go.

(chorus)

[F] Back to the swamp in the [Am] middle of the woods.

Where the [F] buzzards eat what the [C] gators leave.

And the [F] girls all look the [Am] same as Jeb and [G] me.

There's [F] holes in your shoes and there's [Am] holes in your clothes.

There's a [F] hole in the swamp where the [C] tax men go.

And the [F] moonshine burns a [Am] hole right through your [G] head.

Like I [F] said, [Fm] Fun for me and [C] Jeb..

Well my [C] pants dont reach down to my feet.

And my armpits dont smell all that sweet.

But that [C7] dont mean so much to Sue and [F] Pearl.

They [Fm] dont wash so much as city [C] girls.

So I [Dm7] know, [G] I've got to [C] go.

(SOLO OVER VERSE CHORDS)

(repeat chorus]

So [C] here we go got mud on my face.

And my shirt's tied up with an old boot lace.

And [C7] Sue's with Jeb and I'm with [F] Pearl.

[Fm] City life's no life for [C] me.

So I [Dm7] know, [G] I've got to [C] go.

[Am] So I [Dm7] know, [G] this is [C] home.

[Am] Yes I [Dm7] know, [G] I've got to [C] go.

this guy sounds like a right smelly lump of curry eating kangaroo excrement!

it's good therapy to get it out though, and you've got a world of readers, cos you can write with the best.

hi trevor,

i took this as a coming of age story, but i can see the religious aspect of it.

nice heart-felt words, is this a big ballad? no time now to check out your web...work to do smile

hi trevor,

just seen your song, do you know what sort of thing your looking for, or has daddycool sorted it out for you?

i like the flow of the chords, but i'm afraid i played it in a waltz time 3/4 beat, or as russ keeps telling me 6/8 ?

you can email me direct if you have anything you'd like to discuss, i'll be on-line till about 9.00pm tonight [wednesday]

hi toney,

i appreciate your pique, and i know i am guilty of using this "catch phrase" my self quite a lot.
the reason for this is that i feel i have made a lot of friends here on chordie, and so i dont use the phrase when i dont actually feel friends with someone. i hope you understand this?

i agree with most of the others you mention, some are words that have been corrupted to make a "slang" metaphor. this usually stems from people just being too lazy to speak properly, and others then copying as if it's a new trend, which is one of my "pet hates"

so in future, i'll try and limit my expression of friendship to the bare minimum.

as an addendum,

[i think i'd better put things straight]

in the UK, you can go to the A&E with broken or suspected bones at any time, i went last year after almost splitting my head open in work, and had the full treatment for free, MRI the lot as they thought i'd broken my neck! i hadn't, but in case. the NHS is a wonderful institution. in wales we also have free doctors prescriptions, which they dont have in england, but the tories have already said that they will withdraw them if they get in next time!

come on LABOUR

As a special request from Ctec

Maybe I'm Wrong.Undefined

[Cm] Maybe I'm wrong, [G aug] maybe your right.

[Eb] Maybe there's nothing left to [F] say here tonight.

[Fm] Maybe as lovers we've [C] used it all up.

[Dm] Maybe it's time we said “[F] enough is [G] enough .

[C] It breaks my heart to think we're [G] through.

I still feel that I have [Am] love for you, here inside.[F-G]

[C] How can I live if we're [G] apart, each day would break my [Am] heart.

A little more.[F-G]

[Am] Maybe I'm wrong, [F] maybe your right.

[G] Let's talk it [F] over tonight.[C]

[Db-Ab-F-G]

[C] I'm not designed to be [G] alone.

I wont survive outside our [Am] home, is that a [F] lie?-[G]

[C] If I'm a victim in your [G] game.

Apuppet dancing [Am] from your chain, make me [F] go.-[G]

[Am] Maybe I'm wrong, [F] maybe your right. [G] Lets talk it [F] over tonight.-[C]

[F] We dont [G] have to take this kind of, [C] bussybodiness.[Am]

[Dm] Stay on your [G] own side of the [C] door. [Ab-Bb]

[Ab] I'm telling [Bb] you, and you [Eb] know what I say is [F] true.

[Fm] Forget the [G] outside, let's [Ab] play our own [C] game.

[Cm] Maybe I'm wrong, [Gaug] maybe your right.

[Eb] Maybe there's nothing left to [F] say here tonight.

[Fm] Maybe as lovers we've [C] used it all up.

[Dm] Maybe it's time we said “[F] enough is enough .[G]

But then again....

[Cm] Maybe I'm right, [Gaug] maybe your wrong.

[Eb] If I had to chose another, [F] would she be as strong?

[Fm] Would she care for me the [C] way that you do?

[Dm] Would I love her, the [F] way that [G] I love [C] you?

I have found over the last few years the NHS has become a lesser reflection of what it was. Consecutive Conservative governments have tried their hardest to rid itself of this money pit, and even the Labour government has tried cutting back, preferring to spend our taxes on saving banks and funding unwinable wars.

here's an example;

you phone up your local GP surgery to ask for an appointment, they tell you that all the appointments for today have been filled, so you say OK, can I make one for tomorrow, they say phone back in the morning about 8.30....
so you phone back at 8.30, but you cant get through!!! so you keep trying. then at 9.00, you get an answer and they say....you guessed it, sorry all today's appointments have gone....

You eventually get to see your doctor, he says what's wrong, and you say nothing, I've recovered now waiting for an appointment!   You get the idea?

My wife suffered with abdominal problem's for about 6 months and lost half her body weight before the surgeons  decided that there was something wrong. They eventually removed half her bowel and a lump the size of a tennis ball. She's good now, put the weight back on and Ill be eternally grateful to the surgeon.

It's not the fault of the medical staff, as they are as good if not better than medics anywhere in the world, it's just that because it's free, people will abuse the system. People from abroad come and use the service we have paid for all our lives, for free! And yes, you can jump the queue by going private, which is what our government would like, which means you pay twice!

hi ken,

very emotive words my scotish friend.

i think we've all made our feelings clear on the subject of war recently, but i still wouldnt berate what our brave lads [brits and yanks] are doing over there, they are risking their lives not just for the greedy multi-millionaires and self-serving governments, but for us, their friends countrymen and most of all their families.
please dont forget what happened in lockerbie, and that was before we invaded iraq or afghanistan.

hail the hero's

by "delete your account" do you mean you have no longer any desire to be a member of chordie?

if so, i guess you could just be banned by a moderator or by per [the boss]. please clarify your intentions.

i'm just overwhelmed with all the replies, and all positive [except for the last verse maybe? ken!] anyway,

kajima, i dont know what "vox on you" means...i played through a Vox AC30 once, what an amp!

my recording set-up for this song was; a Beyerdynamic TG-X60 mic through an Alesis Multimix 8 USB mixer into my Korg D8 digital recorder. the guitar [which i played at the same time] is a Crafter semi acoustic [left handed] with cutaway plugged in directly to the Alesis. the Alesis has a shed-full of FX's as does the Korg, but i only used reverb on this recording.

in case any one's interested, the song was conceived and written then recorded in a matter of 30 or so minutes. i'd been on chordie, and as i switched off and got up to have my tea, the thought "there's so many things i don't know" came into my head...like for instance Lincoln's wooden false teeth! the Elvis lives conspiracy, why despots and dictators want to kill and ethnically cleanse their country? and why [ken] if there is a god, why does he allow all this inhumanity to happen?

hi ctec, welcome to chordie, viva la revolution [e]

hi ark, only a hundred? i'll have to start deleting! i must be catching up to daddycool now huh?

it seems to be a bit of a theme lately, we all seem to be asking why the man sends our sons and daughters to die for a cause we dont understand.

a lovely song and i love the way you've recorded it.

welcome to chordie by the way, not many manage to work chopro first time.

i dont have time now but i intend to listen to all your songs
