I've had a few wound strings that don't actually break but the winding comes apart usually over a fret. My fault reall as I don't change the strings as often as I should.

Oh no Bill/Dondra, I just can't believe this is happening. You must be wondering what you've done to deserve all this bad luck.
Keep us posted Bill and may I pass on my best wishes to you both

To much caffeine in this thread.

After following this thread I realise why I don't like coffee. I'm just not clever enough to drink it! With all the different machines, types  of coffee, spellings. I would die of thirst before I made a cup. Thank heaven for tea, just plonk a bag in a mug add boiling water a little  milk and enjoy. Even I can do that.
Ps, remove the bag before drinking (choking hazard).

Dondra, so sorry to hear your still not home yet. You must be used to the hospital food by now, I know Bill likes the cinnamon cereal but c'mon lets have you out of there. Great talking to both of you and we must do it again soon.

Why does this never happen to me?

We're just about to Starbucks open in our town. Never had one and never will due to their policy on G M crops.

It's easier to practice and develop your own style than to try and copy someone else. Start with some early Dylan and concentrate more on keeping the rhythm, eventually your own style will come through.
Having said that, I've tried playing some James Taylor and Bert Jansch, they are just on a different planet.

Hi everyone. I just had an e-mail from Bill, he asked me to pass it on. And I quote: Dondra is out of surgery and is doing fine. Maybe going home tomorrow.

It was 10pm here in the UK, I figured you are perhaps 5 hours behind on Eastern time. I looked up the international dialing code which came up as 001, then the number in this thread. Don't know who I woke up, he spoke English although sounded Asian. I do apologise.  Bill, D. Sorry I didn't get to speak to you, but let me wish you both + Craig the very best of luck.

Bill your stress levels must be off the scale. D and yourself are having such a rough time, I really do hope that you are all back home soon and getting back to normal, if you can remember what normal is.
Best wishes to D, your son and yourself.

It tells a story so typical of life these days, kids having kids. Nice one Phill.

Has to be your device Lou. A few weeks ago I brought a new mobile phone, and browsing this site is almost impossible with adverts covering the page. It never happened with the previous phone, and it doesn't happen with my desktop, laptop or tablet. So as I am thick as two short planks where IT is concerned,  it's easier just to tether the tablet to the phone. It works for me.

While sitting around at a car boot sale last Sunday I thought I'd just write a short piece of nonsense to stir things up in the pub later that day.
Written with ukelele in mind, I found out once completed I could'nt play it, so I capo'd the guitar 6th fret. As a result the chords shown here indicate the shape not the sound, as explained in the very clever capo conversion chart

Pickering is a great place, usually stop there on our way to Robin Hoods Bay. Would have loved to call in at the beer fest but just got back off holls on Zante. BTW, can you remember what strings you're using?

Doug, thanks for the link, I'll check it out after I've had a word with arkady.
Ark, the phone isn't an i phone, I have clicked on the right hand corner of the ad. The ad just disappears but just leaves a blank space with 3 options. Ad choices. Ad  covers the page, then half a message saying , eeing this page. Click on any of those and I get a message saying thanks for the feedback, undo. Click undo and the ad reappears.
Thanks for the input, I wonder if any other chordieans have the same problem

A couple of weeks ago I brought a new mobile phone, just an upgrade of my old Nokia Lumia. The problem is that now ads cover the top of the page. It never happened with the old phone neither does it happen with the desktop, laptop or tablet. It's a bit annoying as I do most of my browsing on Chordie using my mobile phone. It now means I can't post a new topic from my phone as the ads cover the title bar and also I miss half of the first topic because of the same reason. Any suggestions please.
