DS, I agree . I know there's alot going on we don't know about and I commend all involved. This is the best site on the net. No place else offers as much material or options to learn from.
Everyone here is involved in helping others become better players. Thanks again to all .

I had a Takamine 12 string with on board EQ. It was a great guitar I had no complaints . I think they are very good guitars.I got tired of changing strings that why I sold it. Now I wish I hadn't. I sold it to a guy I knew and he played it until it couldn't go any more. I just wore it out he played it so much. He said he loved it too.

Congrats on your Taylor. I have two Taylors and two Martins and I love all of them. I have a friend who is strictly a Martin guy and that's fine. But you have to seriously admit Taylor makes
guitars equal to Martin. It's all about what you like, your paying for it buy what you like.

Ed, I know where your coming from.  My phone is a phone , I don't want anything more. I don't have texting on my phone plan. It's a phone ...to talk to people. My fingers aren't the largest but I do have problems with hitting the correct numbers on my phone.
A friend of mine recently lent me a effects pedal he wanted to sell. I thought I'd give it a try and maybe buy it from him. It was a Digitech with all the bells and whistles. I read thru the owners manual before I ever plugged it in. I thought reading the manual would give me a heads up on how it works. I got the tuner and the effects that he last used and could not change to any other effect.  I reread the manual. Still I couldn't figure out how to operate the pedal. I called him and told him after a couple of hours this wasn't for me. He told me he had problems trying to remember how to get it all working and had bought a different one that was easier to operate.
I think it's great that those that are savvy can operate this stuff and enjoy it. But I'm like Ed and am starting to feel I belong in the Stone Age.

Easybeat, I've had two different kinds. I had a Dean Markley which worked OK not the best sounding. I didn't like the cord hanging down from the sound hole. I also had the Fishman Rare Earth which was much better. I had an endpin jack installed and the wiring from that pickup going to the endpin jack. That worked out great. New on the market are whats called disc pickups which sit on the outside body of the guitar. It attaches with a soft putty which won't harm the finish of the instrument. You can position them anywhere you want, the spot you think sounds best. The cord can be out of the way, and some have a hanger that connects cord  to the strap peg on the guitar. There are a few different models to choose from. Some even look like bottle caps and  you have a choice of which companys cap logo you'd like. I have a McIntrye disc pickup on my mandolin and I totally love it.It sounds great on my mandolin and the cord and jack are located out of the way. I have a simalar Baccus Berry on my other mandolin. I like them both. I am going to check out the disc pickups if I purchase another guitar without a pickup system.Check them out.

Amy, As a Martin and Taylor guy I have 2 of each. Love all of them.I got each one for it's tonal qualities. I have had a few less hypped brands that sounded as good as any of these. A copule of them I wish I'd kept. You go with what sounds good or feels good to you and what you can afford. You can have fun with any brand of guitar that's really what it's all about. But you should grab that dream guitar when it's right for you.
One other thing to help make this guitar stay perfect. Remember to humidify your guitars. I have done this for years and it' keeps the whole guitar from drying out. Drying out causes finish and top cracks ,make your top sink in and make your overall tone suffer. A simple soundhole humidifier is all you need. Any music store will have them. It's a cheap insurance policy for a nice instrument.

Amy, Congrats on your new Martin. I know the wait was worth it. New guitars can kick start new song ideas. Hope you can write a new song with it. Have fun.

As a rule of thumb most songs after 1929 are undercopyright laws. The copyright office which you can access online has a list of most of the songs you can use royalty free.  Most of the royalty free stuff is going to be folk music.

Jim , nice job. You told the story very well with your lyrics. You nailed it dude. About Youtube,  deffinetly put your videos on there.

BGD, very cool version. I like when a person takes a song and makes it their own.

Pete, I'm with you.One Martin is never enough. But then one Taylor isn't ,one Gibson isn't, one Guild isn't, one Yamaha isn't. I guess you can see where this is going.

bluejeep , a soundhole cover will help eleminate most of your feedback. there are a lot of different types you can try. I don't know if your pickup is a sound hole pick or not .You can use a soundhole cover with a soundhole pickup with a liitle tweeking. As far as the GAS issue, I'm not about to tell you not to give in.
