they shout hate
at the man they say shouts hate
they tell lies
about the man they say tells lies
facts turning to dust
and blown away in the wind
oh the heady heights
of the high moral ground

some of us are music nuts,if you are like me you`ve got to listen this
a podcast on spotify ``the history of rock in 500 songs``
this is FANTASTiC the guy is taking 10 yrs to make this series
at the moment it`s up to episode 135 still 7 yrs of music to come
each show is about 45 mins the research is unbelievable,
if you love music, do yourself a favour, have a listen, dont think you will regret it.

interesting has merit, great to see you trying stuff other than tried and true.
an artist i think is very interesting is Bill Callahan i like what he does
but i cant get into it.but i keep going back because hes different.
hope this makes some kinda sense.like easy trying to make my mind up on this one, like the story behind it would loved to been able to hear her play. reminds me a of an old dude years ago on bourbon street playing the blues on guitar my crew left me on the side walk listening to him while they went on bar hopping. all ways amazes me how people with that much talent never get a break and the crap that makes on the radio today

all good Phill,i often think of stars that ``made it`` they often live terrible unhappy lives.
of course they have money and fame.but would any of us really choose michael jacksons or elvis life?
remember if you have to choose it`s all their life, not just the good bits.

Phill
what is ``making it`` 1 hit song then drugs and die young or live in poverty
or
having a wife and family living a good life having grand children later in life.
i think you have ``made it`` plus you have made music, sure maybe no hits but entertained
a lot of people over many years.

I have a 16 year old granddaughter who is hoping to join the army soon. While she waits, she is doing three jobs, I think that's wonderful, when you see other kids stuck in their phones or on X box or somesuch.
Phill
thats fantastic a kid doing 3 jobs,a real go getter.

i love what you have done to it,i thought i had missed a trick with the wording.
i had,and you`ve put it right.
sometimes rhymes are predictable and you can see them coming, a bit of mystery
never hurt.
thanks

In a cafe we sat

talking `bout music and art
in the back round music played
i told her close your eyes
and i closed mine
told her to listen
tell me the colours she could see
she said red and blue
i had seen purple!

Mojo
yeah it`s called democracy, the winner takes office.
it`s good that the opposition question and hold to account the govt
but the media also have a part to play, they should report facts not bias opinion.
let alone invent stories.
name calling is a great way of shutting others down. it`s almost a new art form.

easybeat wrote:i can understand people that dont bother to vote.
I have never felt anyone represented my views,so politicians dont represent me.
i usually vote for a minor crazy party just to be able to say that i exercised my right to vote.
being a straight white working class bloke i feel even less represented nowadays.another thoughtful piece Pete.
This is so true. However in America this is how such a donk of a person like trump was elected.
He played to the white ignorant vote, stirred up racism to a terrible new high and surly will be ranked in the top 5 worst presidents in history.
I’m not real thrilled with Biden, but what were the alternative options?
As you say, why vote? I voted, but not real happy about what was there. It was a game of the lessor of two evils.
Wow Beamer name calling people you dont agree with is really unproductive. It assumes there is only one right way and that is yours.
it seems people on the left are best at this but by no means have a monopoly.
(maybe i should have said MINOR party in my statement.)
