My niece bought a black Epiphone acoustic. I don't like it.
Black paint hides the wood grain. I heard guitar manufacturers paint guitars with lousy wood black to hide the imperfections.

You need to post a u-tube video link so we can hear it in order to scull out the chords.

A well known song but a demonstration of a great loss in beauty and talent.

A fine interpretation of the "Familiarity Breeds Contempt" syndrome that occurs in most long term love relationships.
So tragic that some feel compelled to degrade and humiliate a life long love partner although some of the abuse may well be deserved.

I got to try that guitar out when we visited Topdown for a jam in North Carolina.
I really liked it. He had a really cool man cave too!

I used to work with a maniac bass player who broke "A" and "E" strings on his Fender bass guitar. He would pull the strings up to his chin before he let go. The percussive effect out front would move your hair and jiggle your clothes.
I pound the daylights out of my old Gibson 330 playing rock rhythm. I break strings occasionally but always carry spares in my case.
If you only change strings once a year, rust, funk and mildew can cause a string to break. Or it can get so old it may opt for suicide after sounding so darn dead for so long.

@Pete, I use a Shure SM57 on a tripod stand to mike my tuba. They are a good value ($100-$150) and are excellent for miking instruments.
I have seen acoustic guitarists use a SM57 on a stand for a guitar and a SM58 for vocals.
I bought two SM58s after I saw the Rolling Stones use them for a road concert. SM58s are tough, durable and sound great if your mouth is very close to the mike. A pop filter cover is necessary for recording.
I've seen Sm58s on Craiglist and E-Bay for $100 new in the box.

Like Guitarpix, I worked as a painter (houses) for years. Messy work but I like the quiet. Rebuilt and restored a wooden sailboat. it only took me five years. I sailed her for 17 years and gave her away when it was time for another rebuild.

Some piano songs are easily adaptable to guitar. Some are not.
A piano can throw down ten tones in a chord. Guitars are limited to four to six. The only way to find out if a guitar CAN get away with a piano arrangement is to try it and see if it sounds alright.
In my cover band days I found several Elton John tunes that worked great with guitar rhythm.

They now have a bi-weekly blues jam at a bar called the Silver Dollar near here. Went up and listened in last week. Lots of three-chord blues played well and really loud. They invited me to bring my tuba up this Sunday for snicks and grins. I'm gonna give it a go.

During the '79 Hurricane, Fredrick, my buddy and I stupidly decided to ride two blocks to the Mobile Bay beach around midnight to see what we could see.
We got out of our car at the beach and had to hang on to the car door handle to avoid being blown away. On our way back to the house the street got blocked by trees falling and power lines shooting sparks in the street. We tried three other possible routes back to my house and only on the last possibility did we find a way back home. Never again!
