Topic: Normalizing.. Good or bad? (5 replies, posted in Recording)
Hi all
When I mix down multi track stuff to a MP3 or wave I mostly always normalize it's the default setting.
I have mixed down without and can't really find any real difference in the finished track on the kit I use.
So is there any need real for normalizing...
I guess it must do something to the recording else why have it.
thanks

Re: RECORDING PRODUCERS (26 replies, posted in Recording)
Mostly use MP3 myself small and easy to move around and for the amateur simple to format with all recording mixing software.
Never had to much trouble with loss of frequency myself but with a pro it might be an issue.
Wave files are good but large so not always easy to share via email etc.

Re: Printing (15 replies, posted in About Chordie)
You're being very patient. I'm using a PC. My pages used to contain what was in your screen shot. I'm at a loss as to why it's all disappeared. I use Firefox 7.01. You've given me an idea. I'll check Chordie using Chrome and see what happens.......................no luck. I'll now try Internet Explorer......................................same problem using that. Surely someone else must have had the problem as well.
have managed to solve the problem with the home page on my computer. All I did was press the control key and the minus symbol at the same this adjusted the page size and all the missing features were back. Should have done that in the first place....... Thanks for all your suggestions though !

Hi firefrets910
Welcome to Chordie.
Your blanket statement don't give much to go on..
What songs were without chords. Some songs only have tabs displayed.

Love my guitars which are basically objects? No I dont think so. I think this is just another extention of the love for material things which is to a large extent what's wrong with the world today.
I do love music especially guitar miusic and I love being able to play.

Re: acoustic guitar plus keyboard friendly songs (8 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Hi chicov22
Well just about any song you name can be done on a keyboard with a guitar. It's just the arrangement that's going to be different.
If you both like a song then put your heads together and come up with something new it's much more satisfying then a bog standard cover.
good luck and welcome to chordie.

Zurf wrote:deadstring wrote:Audacity is a free download that will do it. You can do just about anything with Audacity but it takes ome getting use to. You can change speed, key, amplify or even remove voices in some cases. Russel Harding put me on to it maybe 2 years ago.
I used Audacity for a while, but when I got a Windows 7 computer, it didn't work with Windows 7 yet. Have they fixed that?
- Zurf
I don't know Zurf, I still have XP but maybe someone else will know.
There is a newer version of Audacity for windows7 it's a beta release so it's still in development but works with the new windows.
You may have to uninstall the old one.

This thread puts me in mind of the UK TV programe "Grumpy old men" where 50 somethings celebs just grumble away at everything in life....
What's scary for me is I agree with most everything they say ...
I avoid the News now. I just don't want to know what's going on in the world it's all hyped media tripe with a slight passing nod to the truth. I guess no change there then but being older just makes me more intolerant to it all.
PS I rather watch the ads...
