CAREFUL EVERYONE,, ITS A HAPPY START!

Take my hand

Broken Bone
A decade of Joy stolen away.
Safety of home too long unknown
Kindness taken for granted
Used to advantage

In the time of trial,
Look to the light, take my hand
And we will walk the mile.
You are too pretty to hide your smile.

Our lives both have a complications
But better days are on the way.
For you, removing the most negative aspect that could actually exist.
For me learning harsh truths about myself
The desire to never let them happen again

So walk the mile with me
Let us see what will be
Hand in hand we can make the stand
Face the future with a smile,
Never again be torn down.
Never again push the other to a deliberate frown.

In the time of trial,
Look to the light, take my hand
And we will walk the mile.
You are too pretty to hide your smile.

Well my last post was more of a your not alone to UJB.
Now as to this one topic:

Number 1:  Thanks for the honor of renaming LOLOLOL.  but .....

Number 2: All points are valid.  I personally tend to agree with BGD and Z.  I have to edit out lyrics because ill be censored for the expressions that fit a song of my chosen favorite genera.  In normal conversation I can see not dropping the F bomb.  However when generally accepted alternatives get pinged also..... That's taking it too far.

Number 3: I personally think that many of the members have lost sight of the pulse of today's younger generation.  I speak of my sons ages which are pretty much the new generation of music lovers.  14 to 18 yr old boys and girls, they are WAY more knowledgeable than I was 35 yrs. ago.
The pace of tech they keep up with leaves us way behind with our heads spinning.  Let us also not expect them to want to be in such an old school based site.  While it’s cool for most of us, it lags in comparison to the newer sites.  I have said this before, as a forum based site, with no instant feedback, or real-time notice via an app to let you know someone has read, or left a reply.  They are not interested.

We had some younger participants at one point, and now they are gone, either due to life pulling them or face it, the conversations got stale and well, sounded like they were talking to their uncle or grandpa.  Go talk to .any music store owner.  Ask the average age of kids buying instruments, coming in for lessons, and oining band are?  after band, ill bet not as many go into it.

I am constantly promoting this site, to anyone who will listen.  I have to be honest.  I talk to the members who used to be very active on FB quite a bit.  With personal "IM" I can be myself and I can be unrestricted.  Not to say that I want to drop F bombs everywhere, but if one slips it should be taken in stride.  Everyone who has met outside of the web wonderland,,,, well its real life.

The one main reason I still post here is for the few who still are active and have good advice and I enjoy writing with.  Not to also mention, it’s a new form of a Poor man’s copy-write as everything is time and date stamped and I can always find my material when on a new computer or telling someone about it and post the links. And hope they stick around to see the rest of what’s on here.

Well at least now I know it's not just me.

Here's a little trick I started using. When someone sends me a message and includes a number for me to text, I respond that I would rather talk. I give them a number to call but it's not mine. It's the number for the front desk at the White House. Funny how I never hear from them again. LOL!

whats that number!???! LOLOLOLOLOL

Second time easy

1
When life comes and knocks you down,
Get back up and loose that frown.
Brush off the dust of yesterday’s past
No one promised it would last
2
I know it’s easier said than done,
I promise you I’m not the only one.
It may seem dark right now
Step into the light, smile in the sun.

Chorus
Is the second time around
Better than the first?
Seems everyone is going back
To try and fill their thirst. -> -> (hold out, let guitar fade)
3
Measure bad with the good.
Oh my god we’re so misunderstood.
No one acted as they should
There is no manual to adult hood.

Chorus
Is the second time around
Better than the first?
Seems everyone is going back
To try and fill their thirst. -> -> (hold out, let guitar fade)
4
First time through
Never measured up for you
Second time coming down
Do we fly or do we drown?
5
As Harry said “My son’s grown up and moved away”
We’re leaving what we had
We have to start anew day
Reach inside and pull out your smile today

REPEAT CHORUS AND V1

Well, Technically, it is a NGD as I paid it off yesterday.

Here is the  update on my Explorer deal.. The GHS CRUNCHY RAILS are being installed and the volume knob will also be a push-pull for the bridge to split coil. Just some pictures I took on the shop bench.  He asked me did I want to take it home and buff it out before he put it all back together.  I said "Nope just want to plug it in!  big_smile  I cannot wait to plug this sucker up, plus I still need to do a video of the last guitar I bought also.

Ok Chordians,. Looking for a hook.  But here is the verses

Brick & Mortar

Diamonds are forever but they
Will not pay the toll.
Iron, forged from the earth,
Wraps around my soul.

Brick and mortar  builds walls,
walls which hide your heart,
and block your pain.
Yet never acknowledge all that's been slain

Always seeking beyond
that which is far from reach
I will take you on a journey
As long as you are willing to losse control.

Open up, let your heart free
You only have joy to gain
Climb in and let's take that ride
All you have to do is smash
The walls and smile from the inside.

WE ALWAYS  SLEEP ALONE

6 March 2019 10:47 AM
Scott Sailer

EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEW.
LEAVING OLD THINGS AND PEOPLE TOO,
FOOTING IS LIKE DANCING ON THIN GLASS
I JUST WANT TO BEND OVER AND SAY
“KISS MY A##”

ASTROLOGY, TECHNOLOGY, BIOLOGY
PHYSIOLOGY, MEOLOGY.
ALL THE OLGY’S IN THIS MODERN WORLD
KEEPS MY HEAD SPINNING AND SWIRLING

WE ALWAYS SLEEP ALONE,
WHEN WE CLOSE OUR EYES.
NO MATTE WHO WE ARE WITH
OR ON OUR OWN
WE ALWAYS SLEEP ALONE

A FREE PASS DOES NOT EXIST,
NOTHING IS FREE, PAY FOR IT IN SUFFERING
OR WITH CASH.  IT’S A NEW WORLD
AND THERE IS NO BUFFERING.

WE ARE TRADING EACH OTHER IN
WHATS THE BETTER OPTION FOR YOU OR FOR ME?
TIME TO GO SHOPPIN’ THE GAME IS FAST SO
YOU BETTER GET HOPPIN’

SOME MAIL ORDER AND SOME PLAY THE GAME,
SOME REACH BACK, TO AN OLD FLAME.
SPIN THE WHEEL NOW IT’S TIME TO DEAL.
THE PRICE IS NEVER RIGHT.  WILL THEY STAY THE NIGHT?

WE ALWAYS SLEEP ALONE,
WHEN WE CLOSE OUR EYES.
NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE WITH
OR ON OUR OWN
WE ALWAYS SLEEP ALONE

WE ALWAYS SLEEP ALONE
WE ALWAYS SLEEP ALONE
ALWAYS!      SLEEP!      ALONE!
ALWAYS!      SLEEP!      ALONE!
ALWAYS!      SLEEP!      ALONE!

I agree with Phill and CG - great little poem. It contains a lot of imagery and self-reflection.
I think a great title would come from the line " Maybe Tomorrow",
If done in your genre, it would suit it like  a metal amalgam perfectly!
This poem is like a seeing glass into your mind set. Hope you get out of the floccinaucinihilipilification
[flok-suh-naw-suh-nahy-hil-uh-pil-uh-fi-key-shuhn] funk soon as you have so much to offer.
I was thinking yesterday that you should get one of those blank journal books and put one of your songs / poems-  one each - on a page - then when you get to the last page and fill it - close the book and move on - just a way of setting a goal and maybe finding a path to healing.

I try to write of joy instead of sorrow
I sit at my desk
Head in hands and think
Not right now
Maybe tomorrow

All this time I wake up and
Start a new day,
I try to look up saying
I will be happy today.

And when I stare into the mirror,
All I see,
Is a face, looking back at me

Way to go, Beamer! That's a nice find, and with the cool mods it's a one-of-a-kind. I can imagine you getting a 7-string someday (low B-string) or a baritone ... seems to suit what you like / play.

Well this is why the DEAN  was modded to B

"SONBEAM" finally has met a fellow Metal Head who is not "a freak of the school" and he happens to play guitar.
Matter of fact He plays better than me in just the 3 yrs. he has been playing. (Dang young whippersnappers)
So upon hearing this, I suggested he invite him over to Jam and that he could use my half stack (which he thought was pretty spiffy as he had never used a tube amp).

Being the cool dad I am, once tuning and explaining the rules of my rig, (only knob you can touch is master volume! LOLOLOL) I left and went upstairs.   They noodled around a little and got to know each other better. Then while I was at work on Saturday, they jammed out.  I listened to a phone recording of some of it.  I am waiting for a bass player to show up (Oh the kid can play bass also!) and a singer.   I am very pleased that he has found a person his age to jam with.  I have fun with him, but it’s always more fun when it’s your peers.

waiting for band practice to start in my house.  I cant wait!  Yes I will haul you to gigs, Yes I will help get you in with the right promoter!  big_smile  big_smile

This is going here as technically it would go in both Electric and Accessories.

I posted not too long ago about the ESP/LTD Ax that i had to pick up and put on lay away.  (Electric section)

Last Thursday (Feb 21) I went into my shop to pay it off.  Before I even got 1/2 way into the store, from the repair area,  my tech, Eric,  is flagging me over to him.

"SCOTT COME HERE MAN, I HAVE A DEAL FOR YOU!"

I am hands on hips and shaking my head.

"Man I just spent about $250.00 Now what do you want to twist my arm with?"

" How would like a 2004 Gibson Explorer with case for $600?"

"Whats wrong with it?"

"Some dings and I had to fix the truss rod,  its one of mine, it was my road dog, and studio guitar.  I just want a different guitar since I have my black Explorer also.  Besides I remembered you talking about really wanting one and not being to find one so you got the Dean instead"

"You really know how to make me spend $$!  YES, will you take payments cause I cant do it right now in one lump."

"Naw its cool you can do that, but hey I'm taking my pickups out of it."

"No worries ill get ya pickups"

And this is where the other side of the tale comes in.  Started looking on GFS and comparing them to Dimarzio humbucker power rails.  So in the end, GFS wins again.

GFS Crunchy Rails- Our Hottest- Modern Metal Power- Black on Black
Bridge Position - 16.2K
Neck Position - 10.4K
total with shipping about $75.00

The Dimarzio's bridge was a 15 and the neck a 10 and about 85 each.

Oh and ill have the Heavy bottoms / light top set of strings put on also.  pictures after I get it put together.

I am getting the toys before I cant.  This is a long long wanted guitar!  Like since I was a kid and saw the Pyromania / Def Leopard vids .  the big black explorer the y had. it was just a bad mo fo.

I promise I am not going to be JX3!    The Gibson will be the last for a long time.  After that its all going to bills
and Divorce.
I am  pretty set up: Bedroom rig, mobile pedal board, half stack downstairs with RP500, lots of nice guitars.

The Gibson will win the list as most expensive guitar I own.

Cheers!

I must not have noticed this earlier.

Jim, your right up my ally with this  one.  not only do I visualize a cold bitter woman, I can visualize the death of ones true love in a coffin.
That chorus is a very good hook and im going to hit this one with a my metalizing treatment and post it.  minor chords and distortion are nice.  Well this will be overdriven not full on Dist. big_smile

Talented band !
Singer has a great voice although when it got modified ( I assume by some peddle or something) it scared me.  I cant imagine if that was real and she could do that - I'd be petrified to sleep with her ! smile

How do they do that voice thing anyway ?

A good band though... very interesting to listen to and watch perform.

Thanks for the enlightenment

Jim

Jim, its all her. No distortion.  There are two vocal coaches on YT who listen to her and analyze her style.  One teaches how to do that.

I SEE A BIG PROBLEM HERE.  EDUCATION.

AND THE PROBLEM IS.....

"A WAX IS A WAX (think apple) A POLISH IS A POLISH (think orange)

Polish = super fine  abrasive to remove micro scratching and provide a smooth finish.

Wax = a seal that protects the surface underneath and enhances gloss.

Polishing wax = a wax with micro  abrasive added to it to make a type of one-step product.

IMHO  if you are using so much wax that it has built up enough to hamper any sound resonance,, You probably should not be touching the stuff.  A little bit goes a long way.  Before re-coating a finish, you need to lightly remove the existing old wax or sealant with a super fine compound or polish, then re-apply.

5 years doing this to painted surfaces,, drop mic.     big_smile
