I have been able to reproduce this error. I will fix it soon.

The hole point about Chordie is sharing songs in an effort to learn playing the guitar. I would not feel bad about adding somebody's edited songs to my songbook. In a sense all songs here are edited by someone.

Are you posting a message to the forum, asking how to post messages to the forum?

There is a forum called "Other string instruments". Lots of Ukulele players there.

I would also recommend: <a href="http://www.fleamarketmusic.com/bulletin/default.asp" target="_blank">http://www.fleamarketmusic.com/bulletin/default.asp</a>

Great forum/bulletin board.

There is a small chance that this will happen (if someone views the song while you are editing it). Your changes will however always be saved, the song will appear in a few minutes ... and the changes will appear instantly if you reedit the song.

Hope this was understandable...<img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile"> If this gets too annoying/confusing I will fix it.

The error here should now be fixed. It should now be possible to edit songs.

Please test if this works.

It is very easy to fix. No reason to undermine the difficulty of the songs.

It is fixed now, but caching might lead to some "undermining" showing up for a few days...

I will fix that. Please send me a link to where you see this error (seems to be OK on the songartist-pages)

Also report if you experience images (grids, logos etc) not showing up.

Yes, it should be possible. Please send a mail to <a href="mailto:admin&#64;chordie.com." target="_blank">admin&#64;chordie.com.</a> Describe the errors you are getting. Most likely you have encountered a bug, and I will try to fix it..

I have not noticed any abusive editing, and no races. No abuse has been reported so far.

I have fixed one of the errors related to this feature, but suspect there might be some more... It can take some days before this works perfectly.

James got most of the points there. I have been thinking about adding such a feature for a long time, but ended up adding the "filter"-feature instead.

The "easy public songbooks" are another nice place to look.

The main problem with adding a "search by chord" would be to find a good user interface for it. And you will always miss songs that can be transposed to G,D,C. I might however add a "easy chords only" to the advanced search box.

I am followig this discussion. Please comment on this feature.

I am not sure how this feature will develop. Of course I will fix any outstanding bugs here, but the feature might be implemented differently in the future.

I am especially watching any races where people are changing songs back and forward. That is not what I am interested in. What I am looking for is an easy way to correct obvious errors - especially annoying layout bugs, missing lines etc.

Only the changes will be stored at Chordie, and the song will still disappear if the hosing site is removing it.

It is a good idea to connect this to corrected versions in the public songbooks. Ill look into that. I am also considering adding a system where corrections need to be approved by senior users.

Lots of changes to the archive this time, but I think 99.99% of them were good. The priority was to get rid of the duplicates this time. Next time it will be more focus on adding extra songs.

I would love to know the url for this song. Anybody have it in their songbook? It might of course be a bug that has caused it to disappear, and it would be great to check it out.

Nobody has ever bothered to report this error. I just never thought about it.

It is now implemented. Alternate voicings for all instruments should work. Please report any bugs.

Thanks for telling me about it..

That is about what I need. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile">

What version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Just for checking that the link is OK. Try going to this page:

<a href="http://www.chordie.com/voicings.php?chord=A&tuning=EADGBE" target="_blank"> http://www.chordie.com/voicings.php?cho … ning=EADGB E</a>

What do you see?

Then try this link:

<a href="http://www.chordie.com/ramimages/Achord_042220_1.png" target="_blank">http://www.chordie.com/ramimages/Achord_042220_1.png</a>

This should give you a single chord grid. Does it?

You can see the images on the first page (song page), can you?

I am unable to understand what page you are on. Are you on the chord charts for the songs, or on the main chord chart?

Please post a url, describe what you are seeing, and where you are clicking.

I am continually evaluating whether the rules for changing songs should be more strict. I might change my mind when any abuse is discovered. So far, no abuse is reported.

Note:

* Only registered users can change songs.

* Any abuse will result in blocked domain and deleted account

* The original is NEVER altered. There is always a link to the original song. This makes finding errors/abuse very easy.

...about the Jamorama forum... I can't find what you are talking about. Could you please send an url to the page where you are seeing this?

It is a known bug. It happens on some songs, and is related to the cache.

Fortunately you editing are saved, and will appear when I am able to fix this bug.

It should work, and is working when I try it. Could you give me an exact url, and tell me where you are clicking.

Happy new year,

I am starting the new year with a brand new index of songs. There are of course a lot of new songs, but the main reason for this upgrade is to reduce the number of duplicates.

I have introduced a new algorithm that should be able to better detect duplicates and remove them from the index. It is still experimental so please give me feedback.
