Acapo, sorry to dive into your thread but I hope this may just help Alvee.

I do not know if this will help you or not but I have had a similar problem with large attachments on my AOL account. It was so frustrating but then I opened one with Yahoo and I find that I have little or no problem now. Yahoo will upload the attachment as you are writing the message and generally by the time the message is written the attachment is already uploaded and I just click send and it is away. Most of my songs are 3Mb and I have sent two sometimes.

Hi Ian,

If you mean the tag at the top on the Songs page where you can chose between showing all songs and filtering to show either chords or tags that is genuine and not a virus.

If you mean anything else please explain exactly what link you are referring to.

Take care,

Roger

Hi Matt4mayor,

If you REALLY want to impress this young lady the write her one yourself. It does not have to be number one hit but if you have taken the time and trouble to wrote something especially for her she will be over the moon. Just think of the things you want to say to her and the things you like about her and write them down. It does not have to rhyme, the tempo is more important and then play around with some chords to fit them to. You could even use someone else's song that you both like and put your own lyrics to it.

Good luck

Hi Alex,

Being such a shy, retiring type did not stop me from sending one of mine. lol

I believe that you are unable to delete "My Songbook" and that you must transfer songs from another one to this. You can then delete the other one. You can re-name "My Songbook" if you make it public.

Hi Daddycool,

You should not have to upload anything to MySpace except your photo which you have done and the MP3 formatted song (plus a picture if you want it to go with the song).

What should happen is, from your home page select 'Edit Profile'. Then click on the 'Manage Songs' tag, then click on 'Add Song'. Complete details of the song and click 'Update' at the bottom. You should then see the message 'Select MP3 to upload' and a box underneath where you click the 'Browse' to look through your PC for the MP3 of your song and then click on the 'Upload' to send it to MySpace.

You can always e-mail me privately if you are have problems and I will do what I can to help.

Take care,

Roger

Hi Chriscap,

Welcome to Chordie and have no fear this is the correct place to post this question. It is always difficult to answer a question like this because spending cash comes into the equation. There are to my mind two ways to do what you ask.

One is to use an electric guitar (or an acoustic with an electric pick-up) and a microphone (for vocals) through a mixer and then to your PC.

The other is to use a 4track recording machine and record guitar and vocals to this before transferring to the PC.

However many people get very good results with just a microphone and an acoustic guitar. A good quality microphone positioned correctly and not to far from yourself and a quiet room with no chance of the dog barking or children screaming etc can work very well.

Hi BoneDaddy,

You have to delete all the songs from the songbook first and only then can you delete the songbook.

If you need more detail please let me know.

Hi Jeff,

My friend, you know I am always honest about what I think of your songs. Well I started playing this and I thought "Jeff's flipped, what is he doing? No chord, just open strings played for most of the first part of the verse it will sound awful". However I continued and as I got into the song I found that it is cunningly fantastic and beautiful. I really enjoyed it and I am definitely going to 'Badeye' it as soon as I have finished wriiting. As for the lyrics, well change it to the summer of 1960 and it is very close to a fond memory of mine.

Thank you,

Roger

Hi Alex,

Nice to see you around again. No it was not that bad, it was pretty good in fact. I gave it a 5 star rating whilst I was there and I guess it was your daughter doing the backing vocals lol. Nice song well done.

Hi Daddycool,

Nice little number from you, finger picked from start to end, mouth watering as I sang. Well done.

Hi Jsaux,

Welcome to Chordie. The tag you are looking for is on the right hand side of the page about half way down, just under the 'Rating'.

Take care,

Hi Emma,

Lovely little song you have written. I recorded myself a backing track with fingerpicking and strumming before trying it out and it sounds lovely. I made one minor change, I finished on a G and not Am as it suited the way I played it better. Well done.

Thank you,

Roger

Hi Jeff,

It took me the first verse and a half to get the  rhythm and timing flowing but once there I enjoyed playing it. The lyrics, well they ask the question that we would all like to know the answer to. Some have faith and believe others hope for the best.

One little point. The last word in the 6th verse, unless this is an American word we Brits do not know, it may be a typing error.

Thank you,

Roger

Hi,

I think that Arkady has just answered my problem. I saw a tag to download but I am very reluctant to download anything from a site I do not know. I was expecting it to play as MySpace does.

Hi Boxer,

Although any of the Administrators can in fact change your user name I was advised by Per that there can be repercussions in doing so. If I remember correctly your songbook is one of the things that can cause a big headache.

Hi Snowden,

I seem to have had the same problem as Gitaardocphil. I could not get anything to play so I heard none of your songs.

Sorry,

Hi Jeff,

Nice one and a lot of truth in the lyrics, nearly caught me out with the key change though. I look forward to hearing it in the not too distant future.

Thank you,

Hi Legate,

Nice little song and great to fingerpick which seems to be my favourite mode of playing at the moment. Plenty of brownie points from 'she who must be obeyed' for that one I think. Well done.

Hi James,

Well I got my guitar out, tuned it, and was going to hunker down to play your song and then I found you had saved me the trouble so I played along with you anyway. Nice song , very playable.

Thank you,

Thanks Toney, I watched and enjoyed and I am still saving up for the flight.

Thanks too Detman, the link however took me to this nice young chap playing his new guitar "Reon", no loops, no emulated orchestra and little volume, but interesting anyway.

Thank you both,

Roger
