Hello Bri,

And welcome to Cordie. I am one of the older members here being 60 years young and I have been playing since was 11 but I have to admit I am still learning.

I must say that your arrival here is quite timely, as a Lawyer perhaps you can give the definative answer to copyright on the songs that some of us post on here. The question raised recently on: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5475

I am sorry to throw this at you on your introduction to the site but you do have knowledge that most of us do not. Rest assured that we will all return the favour by giving what help and advice we can with your queries.

Thank you,

Roger

Ooops, sorry I missed you,

I was doing my morning patrol of the site looking for infiltrators, and fingers crossed, since Per has made alterations to the registration method and stopped the posting of pictures, it is looking quiter on the home front.

Have a good day and as this thread is about your new guitar perhaps I should ask how are you getting on with it? Also have you have chance to plug it into an amplifier yet and really let her rip.

Hi All,

I have had a text message from Lieven this morning which he has asked me to pass on to you.

He has had a camera down his throat as Ken did earlier this year (yuk) and he has 4th degree laesions(sp) on his oesofagus(sp) and reflux so he does not know just when he will be able to go back home.

On the positive side he did say that the nurses were all pretty and that they all love him.

I will keep you posted of any developments.

As you know I like your song so I will wish both you and Ken all the best in the competition.

Hi Pastfan,

Now I have been playing guitar longer than most on here and I remember my early guitars all had a fret immediately in below the nut so that the nut merely spaced the strings apart and it was this first fret which controlled the string distance from the fingerboard at that end. Nowadays this first fret is omitted and it is the slots in the nut that control the string distance from the fingerboard. Possibly your strings are held too high in the nut making it harder to play without the capo but be warned, if this is the case it is not the job for an amateur, you need a luthier as a cut too deep or too wide can ruin the guitar.

Take care,

Roger

Hi James,

I am writing this quietly as I do not want the cats to hear, I might get clawed if they do. I am really a dog person even though I have two cats (there is a 2,500 word story about that but this is not the place for that).

A wonderful moving song about an obviously much loved pet and the passing on of one is the loss an integral part of your family. There will be much sadness and grief when her time comes but then will come the smiles for the happy times you have shared.

Nicely recorded too, thank you,

Roger

Hi JonnieBG,

If you want to start a game, why not start one here on 'Chat Corner'? This is the sort of thing that it was opened for. If games should prove to be so popular that they start to take over this section I am sure that Per would then open a new games section. I personally do not see the point in having a games section until we know how much use it will get.

So the ball is in your court. Please, start a new thread laying down the rules and object of  a game and lets see how it goes.

Roger

Hi Ziggy,

Great news to get your first gig. Don't worry about playing too fast just listed to your drummer, it is his job to keep the timing and tempo correct.

As for making mistakes, well it is not that unusual we all do from time to time. The chances are you  may well play a wrong chord at some time during the gig but as long as you play through it I very much doubt that it will be noticed.

'Break a Leg' or as they say here in Portugal 'Muita Merda'

Hello Thedeevees,

Welcome to Chordie I also had the same problem and I overcame it by updating my printer's driver, also  ensure that your printer is not set to draft print.

I hope that helps but it will be something with your equipment that is the cause, and others may have other ideas for you too.

Take care,

Roger
