What you do not know is that my middle name is Clive (after my late father). I have studied for years to find the meanings of these names, I have searched Archives, Libraries and the Internet and at last I have it............
Roger...........Randy Old Guitarist Ever Ready
Clive............Clever Likeable Intellectual Very Energetic
And of course if you just use my initials I can be R. C.
Now what can you do with your name?

I will second Russell's comments about Arkady's "The Arena", it is a beautiful and moving piece of music and well worth a listen for anyone who has not yet heard it.

Hi Jeff,
Another thought provoking song but inward thinking this time. Good lyrics and chords and hey no barre chords, so easy to play.
Well done,

Hey James,
I bet Uma will be packing her bags to move to Starkville as soon as she hears this song. Wonderful lyrics and great chord sequence make it a damn fine song.

Hi Ken,
I played it similar to Jeff quite upbeat and enjoyed thrashing it out. These are the chords I used which you are free to use or bin as you see fit.
Thank you.

Hi James,
I normally dance a waltz cheek-to cheek but for this one I will do it tongue-in-cheek. Good song, well done, I enjoyed playing it.

Hi Jeff,
Good song with a nice use of chords a great one to finger pick to.
Odd ball me has always liked sad songs though, probably as more emotion is conveyed in a sad one that a happy one. That being said I am a happy chappie even when singing such a sad song that I have tears running down my cheeks.
Well done,
Roger

Re: "It's Too Late" (4 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Thank you Jas, Toney, Daddycool and Ark,
I have been informed by one of my musical critics that I have recorded the song too slow, and having listened to a speeded up version of the recording I must agree (although my voice sounded as though I had been over-indulging on helium ). As a piece of music, which is how this started, the slower tempo of 80bpm is fine, but not as a song so I will re-record at 90bpm it and upload it ASAP. It is now done.
Ark, as I said earlier the song developed from a musical piece which came into being from a practice session af playing chords and that particular sequence (D, Asus4, C to B) came just by chance and was actually the start of it.
Toney, I know your feelings towards synthesised drums. As I neither possess or can play drums I have always had to use them but you might be interested to know that the programme I use has just been updated and it uses wave files of real drums being played and I think that this is a great improvement. If you care to nip into MySpace again I have temporarily put a short demo piece there. It is two short tracks, one with the synthesed drums and the same piece with the real drums. OK it is still not as good as the real thing but it is the best I can do until I win the lottery, I will then be able to keep a tame drummer in a cupboard to be brought out when needed .

This song, unusually for me, started with the music and the lyrics came later.
Sorry, I did rather get carried away with the chords but hey it does keep the fingers nimble.
