That's the point.
OUR COLLECTIVE MEMORIES ARE WIDE OPEN FOR THE BEATLES WHO, BY JOVE? HAVE MADE 10 albums in 7 years?
I was about 13-14 y old and no way, STONES or BEATLES.
I can add listen to "GEMS" as "Angie" "Ruby Tuesday" "Lady Jane" "Jumpin' Jack Flash = still genial together with "Brown Sugar" and of course satisfaction.
But while thinking I was questioning myself: THE EVOLUTION OF THE STONES WAS, (sais me) rather limited, except early seventies when ALL artists where bisexual.

The Stones did a pretty good job in the 60ties and ealy 70ties but WHAT IS THERE CONTRIBUTION IN MUSIC LAND compared to the BEATLES? ZIP, NADA, NOTHING.
Just a bunch of travesties in the early 70ties.
ATTENTION? ATTENTION: I ADORE THE ROLLING STONES but this is A FACT.

The B-Side of IMAGINE, I hear a very, very strong Bob Dylan factor.
I know they spend time together and maybe that tune was just for fun, I also know that greenday has a great cover.
IS ROBERT ZIMMERMAN'S influence quit huge here in that song?

YOU CAN'T DISCUSS ABOUT TASTE AND COLORS.
SO:
WHERE DO YOU PLACE YOURSELVES ON A SCALE FROM 1 - 100, WHEN YOU PLAY GUITAR.
ME? Probably between 40 - 50. People tell me often that I play very good, but those guys DON'T play guitar. ALSO: playing with a friend, or sitting down with my pandora PX5D I am on 60, because of the rhythm section.
I am still unable to put a song on the web, besides that problem I can switch chords very fast, or block them, and I know a lot of chords.
No solos, no fingerpicking sometimes a nice riff.

Why always the brand? I have 3 PRS EG guitars, pick-ups
1) s - s- s(ingle) coils, FRALIN, plays even better than a Fender, we tested it many times.
2) s - s - h(umbucker)
3) h - s - h
They were produced ONLY FROM 1990 - 1992, except one 1990-1995. When I bought them on eBay the price asked was between 800$ & 1100$ Try to find one now, and if, well the price is 1400$ = good investment. Here a picture:

I QUOTE (from wikipedia) "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" is a song by Bob Dylan. It is Track 11 from the album Bringing It All Back Home, released on 22 March, 1965 by Columbia Records.
And famous artists like th Byrds, Joan Baez, Grateful Dead....
Here another link, and that song is covered by bands as written

Re: THE MUSHROOM AND THE DWARF (6 replies, posted in Poems)
yesterday I had a dream, a very strange dream
my legs were gone, replaced by wheels brand supreme
I accept a lot, but do you think too that this is extreme
a few days later, I was able to drive, it worked with steam.
I started to use that wheels, it was amazing, I crossed the line
fast, faster, fastest, I drove so hard that the police gave me a fine
Imagine, a half body, on top of those wheels, and no Einstein
I turned to the left, I turned to the right, even backwards, facing the moonshine
What started as a nightmare, was now a night donkey dear friends
I used my wheels, tuned them making them faster driving to see my girlfriends
My body was without jewels, which was awful, chased, humiliated, and having bends.
It is a stupid story, the next morning I woke up, still with wheels, but here it ends

What I want to tell is, that there is a tremendous difference between the chords I use DEPENDING ON MY FEELINGS or MOOD.
1) Major chords = Dr. Feel good (me + mood)
2) A lot of MINOR chords when I am feeling down, or the pain.
3) Here what I call the happy chords, lovely chords like D7, B7, G7, C7 + C-->E7

Re: what key is your best key? (14 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
The key from my house and car.
Serious: I often start in G or C, and if you want to know a "classic" (one of the 100 songs I wrote)
my passion is switching chords very or fast enough.
EXAMPLE 1 = C--> Am ---> D(m)--> G --> C --> E7

YES I HAVE.
I saw a lot of times on chordie "classical gas", which I thought it was a kind of joke. Until, yes my friends until today. I discovered is was a famous song, but I never knew the title.
HOW MANY ARTISTS BESIDES THE "GREAT MASON WILLIAMS".
ANOTHER THING: I recognize at least 2 different other "classic guitar" from classical composers, like PROCOL HARUM'S main source is BACH.
Clapton plays it but there is not an official record.
WAS THAT SONG A HUGE HIT?

PINK FLOYD: from a psychedelic band to one of the biggest bands ever.
THE BEATLES: from a bunch of friends who started with "catchy tunes" to "genial songs" AND MOST IMPORTANT = THEIR EVOLUTION.
You are as good as your last album. They started with LOVE ME DO, and EVERY ALBUM was better than the former albums.
MY QUESTION: IS THIS STILL POSSIBLE IN 2009?

Topic: THE BAND'S ENVIRONEMENT AND DECISIONS. (3 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
I rephrase what I wrote. It is a general item concerning bands.
- THE NOSE FOR TALENT. What is "IT." Where, how and why record companies base them to decide to give a contract to a band. Is it a feeling in your belly when you hear them playing. Or the looks? AND ARE THERE STILL TALENT SCOUTS?
It is a calculated risk? EXAMPLE: The Rolling Stones had a keyboard/piano player IAN STEWART, so a co-founder. WHO TAKES THAT HORRIBLE DECISION TO TELL THAT HE DOESN'T FIT IN THE BAND because he would never be a TEEN IDOL? And the fact that he stayed as road manager and piano player AND what happened to the Beatles? A wrong deal?
- RECORD DEALS: when does a band gets a fair deal.
- YOUTUBE: responsible in discovering "fresh blood"

Re: PLAYING ELECTRIC WITHOUT NOISE (9 replies, posted in Electric)
DETMAN and RUSSELL, I have read again what I wrote.
And YES = CONFUSING.
All I wanted to tell is:
1) It feels good when friends tell you that you play a lot better than a year ago.
2) I am not bad and I am not good. BUT compared to 2 years ago, I play better (IS THIS WRONG TO MENTION IT?)
3) It is impossible to tell: look I am a great player. I compared this with my former job: THE PEOPLE (or PATIENTS) WILL TELL YOU if you are good or bad.
4) NAME ME 1 (ONE) person on earth who doesn't like to hear a good work.
5) I mixed things in this thread, LINGUISTIC = BAD.
6) I BELIEVE IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE A FEELING THAT PEOPLE RESPECT YOU FOR WHO AND WHAT YOU DO. Everyone wants to be appreciated.

Topic: LET'S CREATE A SUPER BAND (5 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
As the title tells us, we have the "power" to create a band with the liberty to choose the members.
WHO DO YOU WANT IN YOUR BAND? PURPOSE = SUPER BAND
It looks easier than it is because of taste is something personal, so I use a band with "LIVING ARTISTS" and another with ARTISTS WHO ARE DEAD AND LIVE.
PLEASE TRY TO EXPLAIN YOUR CHOICE.
BAND NUMBER ONE
- VOCALS: AXL'ROSE because of his ability to sing beautiful ballads and heavy metal.
- GUITARS: 1) KEITH RICHARDS
2) ERIC CLAPTON
- BASS: FLEA
- DRUMS: GINGER BAKER
BAND NUMBER TWO:
- VOCALS: IAN GILLIAN from Deep Purple, 'listen to Child In Time)
- GUITARS: 1) JIMI HENDRIX
2) STEVIE RAY VAUGHN but these guys could be too selfish, but a PERFECT MATCH, same style and yet so different, JIMI from North US and SRV more Southern style.
- BASS: JACO PASTORIUS
- DRUMS: JOHN "BONZO" BONHAM from Led Zeppelin.

Topic: NORMAL TUNING VERSUS OPEN TUNING (4 replies, posted in Electric)
What is the estimated %:
1) regular tuning
2) open tuning
This question came up while I was watching and listening on youtube to the brandnew GIBSON DARK FIRE, an amazing guitar with "gadgets" who add in fact a great extra possibilities.
During the demonstration he played JUPMIN'JACK FLASH in open tuning.
This give me the impression that open tunings are used a lot more than I taught. Impossible to see on a Stones concert.
I am really confused this time but you create a lot of possibilities here to play "creating and changing" the way of playing the guitar.
- you have a better sound in open tuning
- it's easier to play riffs
- and easier to play licks and solos
I realy would appreciate your opinion.

Topic: The "you know" brother (2 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Well, I couldn't believe my eyes, so many reactions. I am quit sure that it's more subconscious.
WHAT IS REALLY VERY IRRITATING IS (what I call) BREAKING THE LINGUISTIC RULES.
EXAMPLE
- you is always in my heart baby versus you are always in my mind.
ISN'T IT OFFENSIVE to call an Afro American....n***
But they use that word almost always.
It is fascinating to see how fast a language change. BELGIUM and THE NETHERLANDS:
- 30-40 years ago we could understand without a problem the way of speaking in The Netherlands.
- today: they have to use subtitles to understand them.
- identical words having a complete difference.
Well, that is for me a kind of passion: the origin and evoluation of a language.
A short story: on a trip from Chicago to Houston, by car and trying to follow route 66, it was for me quit difficult to understand the phenomenon North versus South. It was in MISSOURI and we stopped a lot at pawn shops. 10 miles more south the accent was complete different from the North accent and suddenly the South accent. AMAZING

I believe that it is really complex to explain this.
If you should count the "euhs" we say every day, it is unbelievable.
I have 1 interpretation and also I believe that RUSSELL is very close to the solution.
1) WE DON'T DO THIS ON PURPOSE
2) SO THIS MEANS SUBCONSCIOUS.
3) AND, YES it can be very irritating IF YOU PAY ATTENTION.

Is probably the most used phrase in the USA.
Is this correct, and is there a reason?
I heard it on a concert a while ago, where the singer, when he was telling little stories in between songs. Like: I've been, you know, to Arizona, you know,.....
I believe every language has his "kind of stop words"
