Favorite Christmas song;  For Auld Lang Syne cos it's new year's day, my birthday tomorrow and no more Christmas for a year!

Bah! Humbug!

Actually The Pogues/Kirsty MacColl Fairytale of New York (saw them do that live TWICE yay!) and for some reason Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses make me stop and listen.

It's a bummer!  You should know, as a medical man that the human body has amazing powers of recuperation and an amazing ability to change itself to suit circumstances.  The callous on the fingertips is a result of damage inflicted on your fingers, so if it ain't needed, the skin will readjust!

Use it or lose it, doc!

Wife made me listen to This Is The Life single and I'm hooked!

Tommy Lee deserves some credit

certainly does!!
the first drummer ( as far as I know) to play a drum kit while spinning upside down with his kit, going round and round and still drumming.
and apart from that, he is a great drummer.

one I dont think anyone has mantioned and I have no idea why I missed him out or why anyone esle has.
Nicko McBrain from iron maiden, his drumming techniques are sometimes so complexed yet keeping time and steady rythum all the time.
He must be in my top 3 or 5 drummers of all time. anyone who has seen him live would or should agree.
Genius!!!

Ken

Hi Ken, remember Clive Burr of Iron Maiden - He was pretty good too cool

How about Ry Cooder?

Well, I kind of pick up my guitar and immediately play a G chord.  I have no idea why but I guess most of us habitually start with a preliminary strum or am I weird?

The G kind of slips into a half assed Ziggy Stardust cause I love that song.  I then tend to play around with G, C and F to try to improve my accuracy with the Barre bits.  I also play the chord progression for Hotel California trying to snap to the barres again.

It's fun to take a song which you habitually strum, and pick it!

Cheers

I can't remember which religion said it but apparently you can't do a bad thing in the name of the Lord, just as you can't do a good thing in the name of the devil.  Actually, it might have come from the Last Battle, the last of the Narnia books!

I think what it means is that if you live well and do kind things then it will all be sorted for you so no need to fret!  In a non guitar sense of course cool

Makes you wonder why Church?

Oh Yeah, Bauhaus did a cracking version of Ziggy Stardust but better than Bowie?  Hard to say

In my humble opinion, Aerosmith's Come Together was better than The Beatles.

Sinead O'Connor was better than Prince on Nothing Compares 2U

The Bangles were better than Prince on Manic Monday.

Led Zeppelin were better than Rolf Harris on Stairway to Heaven!

Cheers

My advice, and although I am not a parent I have some!
Do not care too much about most things.
Such as school. Doing well in school, contrary to popular belief, is NOT the most important thing in the world.
Partying is a GOOD thing.
Curfews are BAD.
Enforcing endless controlling rules on your kids with no real purpose is BAD.
Taking extremely important things like GUITARS as punishment is VERY BAD.

Anyway these are just my, current, firsthand experiences, I'm sure they'll change one day, but right now they seem like solid principles to live by;)

Please tell me you can't have kids

I am waiting for Mad Max to come hurtling down the road any day now!  It's damn scary when you think of all the freight, private cars/vans, trains, buses and boats all drinking fuel 24/7.  Power stations, factories all using this NON RENEWABLE resource - it's all gonna come crashing down around our ears in about 15-20 years, tops.
