Hi 1rob,

Welcome to Chordie's happy family.

Obviously you have your password remembered on your PC or you could not post this message so it is straightforward. Go into your Profile, and click on change password and then you can change it to something that you can remember.

However you can just change your e-mail address on the same page and submit it without needing you password (I think you can anyway but I have not actually tried it and obviously do not want to)

Hi Mhdmhd,

I too do not understand what you are asking, for one do do not say which hand you are having problems with, and as I have never heard of the 'Rest Stoke Method' it could well be a form of contraception for all I know lol

Roger

PS On re-reading this I just want to point out I am not trying to make fun of you. I know you are asking a serious question and want a straight answer but I am just laughing at myself for my lack of understanding.

Hi Turtlebo,

Welcome to Chordie. The chords are placed above the lyrics at the place the chord is played and there is no determination of the length of time that each chord is played, it could be for a fraction of a bar or for several bars. Only with a full music score will you be able to see what length of time a chord is played for, so you need to know the song.

I would suggest that you print out the song you are wanting to play and then find it on YouTube (or from your CD collection). Play the song and follow it on the printed version a few times and then play along with it before venturing on your own.

Thanks Ken, very much a sad one but I am glad you liked it.

Phill, I have received the song back with the bass, drums and strings that you have added. I have just this minute replaced my original with this version on MySpace. Thank you.

So if anyone wants to assail their ears with my singing again but listen to it with the additional instruments it is on the usual place: http://www.myspace.com/rogerguppy

Here are three of my all time favourites:

"If My Heart Had Wings" by Amy Sky

"Let Them Be Little" by Billy Dean

"One Of These Days" by James McCormick

In each case the whole song has to be heard to appreciate the lyrics.

Hi Phill,

Please feel free to add to it if you wish, I would like to hear what you come up with. And then I will let you into a secret..............

Hi Rod,

A couple of ideas as to why you might be having problems.

Please ensure that you you use the print button on the Chordie page (it is halfway down the right hand side). Using the browser's print button can have this effect.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for you printer as an driver update cured this problem for me.

Toney,

Just a thought here. If it only has a two wire chord there is no earth to unit, perhaps it should have an earth to the chassis. I have know other electrical appliances hum when the earth contact is broken.

Hi James,

Another number one hit from you. It plays well and the lyrics just fall into place as you sing it. I am looking forward to hearing your recording of it.

Hi Toney,

Please thank your children for their kind words and it was very astute of you to notice that my new 12er got christened on this one.

Thanks James, Phill, Ark and Helena,

OK the question seem to be as to whether this lady is real or a figment of my imagination.

Well I am not telling, cause if I do she might just come back and hit me lol

Hi Phill,

If I read it correctly the mysterious chord is X20033 and if so this is in fact a variation of G. http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/chord_name.php is handy to keep in your favourites to help with chord names.

Any way nice song but we really must get you recording them so that we can hear them the way you intended them to be.

Hi lextalionis

Fmaj7 is easily played as X33210.

Try using the chord chart in Resourses when you come across a difficult one, clicking on the chord will give many different variations of that chord and you can chose which is easiest for you to play.

Ken, Bubbo wrote to me privately and I have suggested to him/her that he/she does the same as Chris and contacts Per as I could not reproduce his/her problem.

A change from my usual love songs. I got to thinking what happens when love turns sour or is a one sided affair and this is the result.

Hi Chris,

As Ken is not about at the moment I will answer on his behalf.

On one of the pages in question press 'Print Scn', that will save the image of it. Open Word or similar and on a new document press 'Ctrl' and 'V' together, that will transfer the image to that document. Save it an add it as an e-mail attachment to admin@chordie.com explaining what is happening and when, it is a good idea to let him know which browser you are using too.

Thanks Guys,

The Fender electro/acoustic is a JG-26SCE NAT and is a dream to play in spite of some bad reports of Fender acoustics posted on the Forum. Although I did pick up and play a 70's Fender acoustic that someone had brought into my friend Howard's shop for him to try and sell, now that was awful, so bad that Howard reckons he will never sell it and might have to pay someone to take it away.

The green electric is a J&D (Jack and Danny Brothers) ST-1 Strat copy and I usually refer to her as my 'Mean Green Music Machine'. On the next string change I am going to strip her down and replace the volume pot as it is geting a little 'iffy'.

All my family of guitars are Korean.

I now have a new love in my life.

I have put a photo on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/roger_guppy/ and she is the one on the right of her two friends.

I have had a longing for a 12 string for along time, the last time I had one was in the 60's, and I found this in my friends music shop. Not a make I have heard of, a Channel CD-312-N and made in Korea but the action was good (it is now even better after a having it lowered slightly). The tone just great and at only €235 a good buy I think. I paid a little extra to have an electric pick-up installed to make her easier to record with.

So now I am geting used the wider neck, closer strings, trying not to muff my chords and getting larger calouses on my fingers, but I am a happy man.

Hi Aron,

I have recieved your private e-mail and replied today. Your English is far superior to my command of your language so I hope you understood my reply.

Further to that the 'sticky' at the start of this section does explain why that you cannot post original songs on Chordie.

Hi there Aron,

Welcome to Chordie. I have read your post several times and I am still unsure of what you are asking. If you want a chart of chord diagrams then click on the 'Resources' and you will see there is a large chord chart available which you can print out as a permanent reference.

If I have misunderstood your question please post again but be a little more specific.

Take care,

Roger

Lieven,

What Russell has said is exactly right and to answer your question to me.

I use, what is now quite an old, Korg tuning device as it has a meter and not a digital disply and I must admit that I normaly have to make minor adjustments to the B and e strings but it takes only seconds to do. The automatic tuning gadget could tune no better than I can with my Korg and I guess I would still have to make minor adjustments.

The other thing that concens me with the auto tuner in what does it do if the string is too tuned high? Does it tune it low and then bring it up to the correct pitch? Or does it just tune it down to right pitch so that as soon as you start playing it goes out of tune again?

I disagree with your comparision between automatic tuner and a tuning device. A tuning device gives you an accurate reference to work to when tuning your guitar (far easier than carrying a piano with you to tune to lol). The automatic tuner takes away the human element of a skill and is saying that a chip of silicon is better than a human.

In my opinion my brain and skill is better than any automatic tuner and when I have to rely on a contraption like that is the time for me to give up playing.

Hi James,

Sorry but I had to laugh my sox of at that as about 2 years ago I did the self same thing only I went down the middle and gave myself a reverse mohican. I dithered for a bit, decided there was nothing else for it, continued and finished the job but I wore a hat for the next 4 weeks.

There is an old adage that that 'great minds think alike', may be it should be 'great mind act alike'. tongue

PS
If someone mentions 'fools seldom differ' I will ban them from Chordie lol:lol::lol:
