Hi Janet,

The song title by the way is "Beautiful" and I have been unable to find it free but from this link you can purchase and download the sheet music for $4.65.

Hi jkohney,

The first thing to remember is that a recording will never sound how you think you sound. You hear your own voice internally more than externally through your ears and everyone is surprised the first time they hear a recording of themselves.

Maybe it is not as bad as you first thought, try recording a couple of easy songs that you know real well and see if you are in key with them. It will also help you get used to you 'recorded voice'. Perhaps, at the end of the day, a few voice coaching lessons may be necessary, I wish you luck.

Hi Nela,

Had you posted this today I would have thought that maybe it was a wind up, so I guess you are serious.

I too have never heard of, or seen anything like this instrument so how about posting a photo somewhere so we can see it and perhaps a recording of it being played so we can hear it too. (A recording can go on Friends of Chordie if you have no where else to post it - let me know).

Hi CGT,

Welcome to Chordie. My answer to you question would be virtually the same as my answer to Mike. Sing in your mind and play, but in this case listen carefully with your ears to your guitar and experiment with different strumming until you find what sounds good to you. I do not advocate trying to copy 'parrot fashion' any artist but to put your own stamp on a song and make it your own.

Hi Jeff,

I have been 'In The Groove' today and got several half finished chores completed so feeling good. Nice song, thank you.

By the way I just went to look at your website to check if it was on there but I got a 'Page Not Found' message although I got to Russ's, Phill's and Helena's with no trouble.

Hi Liam,

Mike shyness is normal and natural, even with only you in the room, but it gets easier the more you do it. Remember no one is expecting a Liam Gallagher performance but it is great to hear the intended melody of a song, you can only do your best and that is all anyone expects.

Hi Phill,

The only thing you did wrong with the Chopro was to omit the [ song] and [/song] the switch on and switch off of the special formatting. I have put an space between the first '[' and the 's' of song] to stop it coming into play here.

Good song and excellent recording, well done,

Hi Badeye,

I do vaguely remember this one from the previous posting and although I do not like tea I enjoyed the song.

Hi Liam,

Very good first attempt at a song I am sure that Viry will be over the moon, and I am really looking forward to hearing your recording of it in the not too distant future. Well done young sir,

Hi Badeye,

Hi Lilmark,

Welcome to Chordie. Go and have a look in the Public Songbooks, there is a section there for Absolute Beginners. With 145 songbooks to choose from you should find some easy song that you know to start with.

Hi Vinnie,

Welcome to Chordie.

As 'the doc' has pointed out Chordie is a 'search engine' and locates songs that are already on the Internet. Please read my 'sticky' on the About Chordie section and Resources FAQ for more info.

Hi Mikeward,

Welcome to Chordie.

Instead of counting the beats when you practice, sing the song in your mind instead. To sing the song you have to have the correct beat and words are more interesting than repeating one, two, three ,four.........

It then comes easy when you do actually sing it.

I disagree with Zurf and Geoaguiar. To my ear light and ultra light strings on an acoustic sound awful (I feel that these strings were developed to be bent on electric guitars). Medium and heavy, although harder to play with give the full rich sound expected with an acoustic.

As to them being too loud and drowning out the singing I have never had that problem. I normally play with my fingers as you can get so much variation of sound by using nail, skin, one or several fingers, strumming or picking which you cannot get with a plectrum.

Hi there,

You need to go into your Profile and then Personality. Then set up an Avatar (that is what the little picture are called) but be careful as they can only be a maximum of 10K or 60x60 pixels.

Hi Albertocheets,

I have edited the Bobby Vee version to give you the correct chords and chord diagrams on: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.g … 20246.html

It is in the original key of F but you can transpose it to suit your voice and the Faug is only in the intro.

I am a fan of the Bee Gees, but only their pre-falsetto songs.

Robin, who mostly sang lead, had an incredible voice and the quality of it was lost with all the later 'wailing' songs.

Hi Evsynator,

There is only only thing that comes to mind. If the motherboard has a built in sound card (as  most seem to these days) your new one will not work unless you first go into the BIOS and switch the onboard one off.

Thank you Will,

I am pleased you like my humble effort and I will be pleased to perform at your wedding (at least the travelling expences will not be as bad as going to Badeye's or Rhiannon's lol)

Hi Gnomefry,

Thank you. It is always possible that bugs will appear and reporting them gives Per chance to sort them out.

However I have just been to look at the Sex Pistols page: http://www.chordie.com/song.php/songart … index.html and I found it normal i.e. the songs listed to the left of the page and the Wikipedia article on the right so it may be your PC.

It will be interesting to see if anyone else is having the same problem though.

Sorry about the delay in replying but I have been away for a few days and then been busy since I came back and only just getting caught up.

Badeye, thanks for the invite but if you wait another 24 years I will be 84 and even if I am still here I do not think the voice will last that long lol

James, somehow I cannot imagine the ever cool and assured Mr McCormick feeling faint and hyperventilating but I am pleased that you have found your soulmate.

Daddycool and Ark, thank you.

Saba, your presence is missed here on Chordie and I hope all is well with you.

Granddaughter Rhiannon I will ensure you have a recording of it (if you have not changed your mind by the time the 'Big Day' arrives) and look forward to your visit (if you have not changed your mind when you get older) lol lol

Helena, thank you. In fact thank you all.

Hey Ark,

It is about time we heard your singing and I hope we we will hear more in the future.

A beautiful haunting song and a wonderful tribute to your Father. I never wrote one when I lost my Dad but I did learn "Tears in Heaven" and took a lot of comfort from it.
