I once saw an album by a Bluegrass tribute band covering Nickleback hits. I don't recall the name but i wish i had bought the album.

Now there's a combination!  Reminds me of a bluegrass concert.  There's always a few songs about the merits of home-made whiskey, and there's always a few songs about the Lord.  And you just KNOW that the fellows singing mean every single word of both kind of songs.

Hey Zurf the funny thing is I try to play each of their songs with a Bluegrass style. Some of it works out pretty good. smile

I apologize for this but i didn't mention any ethnicity or creed in my post. I simply mentioned the name. If it is still wrong to mention the name i am sorry for any disrepect or offense. - dfoskey

I've tried the Elixer Polys and  really like the smoothness and even sound they produce. Another great string is the titanium slinky coated acoustic by Ernie Ball. They are just as good if not better for a few dollars less than the Elixers.

My first song was Amazing Grace. I played it in lead form for years before i learned the chords. I learned it by ear. Since then i have learned to improvise and add a little more to it to zing it up. It's still one of my favorites. smile

The Road that never ends - Mountain Heart
Tobacco Road - ? Can't remember who did this one but it's good. I want to say Allman Brothers but not sure.

Esteban is a good flamenco style player that sells lessons that are too hard to follow without burning the DVD player up. The guitars are not very good at all. I bought in to his little lesson and guitar deal and learned nothing but what a crappy guitar is like.

Thanks for the input. I've already changed them out with different styled plastic and i do hear a slight change. It was too bright before so i don't want the brass pins for sure.

I just got a new Takamine that has the cheap rounded bridge pins that are hard to remove and i want to change them out. Will brass bridge pins have any effect on the tone of the guitar?

I've tried the Nanoweb Elixers and paid around $17.00 for them. Then I found the Ernie Ball Coated Slinkys for $10.00 a set. I can't feel or hear any difference in the two other than the EB's are more slippery. Both brands last quite a while longer than any other brand i have used being D'addario, Ghs, Martins, Fender, & Gibson strings.

US- Play that funky Music - Wild Cherry

UK- How can i be sure - David Cassidy

AUS - Boppin the Blues - Blackfeather

I haven't ever heard any of these.
I guess this was the days of Disco in 1972. What were people thinking back then?

I've played almost all of them and yes they are fun. They can be a release for the struggling begginer to hear something good after not hearing what you would like from practice. That being said believe me  you can't perfect your own sound if you are trying to reproduce someone elses from a prerecorded game. It does make you want to learn different styles though.

I have an acoustic Ibanez Troubadour T35 that sounds really good with my electric and my acoustic. It comes with chorus and reverb with the mic input as well. I paid like $250.00 for it and it as has been a great practice amp and it makes a good monitor to boot.

I've been looking for a new acoustic electric and this one looks interesting. Does anyone have any feedback on the performance of this? The whole neck joint moves in and out to set the desired action. I have yet to play one since none of the local shops here have them.
Check it out on Michael Kelly Guitars.com

I use Ernie Ball coated acoustic Slinkys 10-53 on my Takamine and Elixer nanowebs acoustic 10-50s on my Ibanez hollowbody. I want to try the black diamond strings but i'll have to order them. Has anyone used them if so are they anygood?

I'm 36.

Those are all good things to change the sounds up. You can add finger techniques such as hammer ons and pull offs to break up the strum pattern also. They both added with good timing will help adapt to more of a lead sound also.

Try this. The next time your band has a gig think of it as the biggest show that you will ever have but you cant go on until you have a name and the person booking you is in a hurry to get it advertised. Right off of the top of your head you blurt out a name. Then go do the show and let the fans decide. It could work. Just remember its not the name of the band it's the music that people remember.

Well i haven't tried many of the Fender Acoustics but the ones i have tried were pretty good. Has anyone tried the Kingman or the T Bucket  Hot Rod special? I've been looking at getting one but i can't find a shop that has them in stock. The reviews are good and they look great but haven't been able to get my hands on either one.

I was thinking of all of the great guitars out there. What is everyones "Dream Guitar"?
I guess mine is the Taylor 914 Ace. I don't think i will ever afford one. As for the electric
I would say Gibson Les Paul from the 60s but with pickups from todays technology.

I am still self teaching but i have used books and lesson DVDS. Anyone ever try playing Estebon style trying to learn? It's impossible.

Is he the guy who shows up on one of the shopping channels pitching his "signature" guitar and lesson plans??

Yes and i got one thinking it was a good deal but was i wrong. The lessons are not as easy to follow and the guitar is pure crap. I sold it.
