Hi Jim its just a drum beat from my trio pedal , Ive turned the bass off as I dont have the up down pedal which changes the chord patern for the chorus .

Re: Gigs in your country? (10 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Quite hard these days bars don't like to pay they want it all for free , I tend to do a lot of festivals or political venues these days In the UK there are so many doing similar stuff it's hard to get a residency like I had in Greece so jam nights and open mics are the regular things.

Re: the promised land (14 replies, posted in Songwriting)
The more I play this the deeper meanings i get from it so correct me if I'm wrong . I see it as some one remembering the important people in his life and then finaly saying good bye to his loved one as he him self dies .Ive reversed the chord sequence in the chorus which suits my voice better and seems to negate the need for the bridge as I said in my previous post ,Mojo this is one of your best songs .

Re: the promised land (14 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Having listened to this a few times now ,I wonder if a bridge between the two last verses could enhance it as the chord sequence of DCG runs through the length of the song ,Just an idea not a critisism .

Re: the promised land (14 replies, posted in Songwriting)
"my mother and father never heard me play
I often think about it to this very day
I wonder if they ever knew I could write a song
looking forward to the day that they can sing along"
I actualy choked when I sang this verse . Fantastic lyrics Mojo . I love it

It's good Phill I think we need more poems like this to counteract the ageism in this country.I have enough songs in this ilk to make a double album.
