We got fish jumping all around our houseboat but I rarely find time to get out there and hurt any of them. Throwing a net in the creek is illegal.

I would much rather pick guitar and pound beers at Fly Creek cafe next door and order one of their fabulous grouper samiches.

Toots my mouths watering here reading that menu sir..
Will you order this for me please.

The Original Creek Platter*
The Freshest Mahi and 6 Wild Gulf Shrimp – grilled, fried or blackened on a bed of seasoned Orzo pasta with a House Salad. A totally mouthwatering combination. -

About 6 pm will do nicely.

Thanks toots, yr a wee pet.
Sure, have something yourself ! I'll pay.

lol

While i love music, the tribute bands do nothing for me..

My girlie friends and i followed a singer here for many years. We'd go on weekends away where he was playing. He was a fantastic entertainer, charismatic, and  generous . He died  suddenly 2 years ago now
After he passed there were all sorts of people singing his tunes and  putting on shows.  I went to 2 of these shows after Joe passed.
Never again !

I had also  been approached to contributed to a book in memory of  Joe, which i gladly did. I had great times and memories of this man over many years.  I also had the privelage of putting a Joe show on in our club just a wee while before he died.
It was a magical night.  The biggest crowd i'd ever seen at our club. Its still talked about as being one of his best. He actually was a shy kind of man i found as i got to know him over the years. But on stage ! magic !
Now the  real Joe Dolan is dead and gone,    i prefer to listen to Joes CDS.
I know this  may sound unchristian but,
The tributes !  BRUTAL EACH AND EVERYONE.
He "Joe Dolan and his band, were masters at there craft. Much loved here for many years on the showband scene.   Like Elvis and so many more great artist, They cannot be replaced.

I did some sea fishing last year  for mackeral which where delish to eat.. i enjoyed it but much prefer flyfishing.. My son ties his own flies so hopefully ill get time this year to try some new ones of his.
Theres nothing better in life on a  good evening, then to wade and watch the flow of the river, let your thoughts meander with the sounds of nature. The beauty of human and natural energy in motion.
Nothing bettter sir in my book

Wowsers mekidsmom,

Your laughing now i bet with all the choices here. Heres another for you.

Dm            Bb     C                    Dm
Black is the colour   of my true love's hair
              Bb   C             Dm   A
Her lips are like   some roses fair
              Bb    C                   Dm
The sweetest smile   and the gentlest hands
             Bb    C              Dm
I love the ground   whereon she stands

           Bb   C               Dm
I love my love   and well she knows
            Bb     C              Dm   A
I love the ground   whereon she goes
             Bb C              Dm
I hope the day   will one day come
             Bb C            Dm
When she and I   will be as one

             Bb    C                   Dm
I go to the Clyde   for to mourn and weep
          Bb   C             Dm   A
For satisfied   I never can be
             Bb      C                   Dm
I write her letters,  just a few short lines
            Bb    C             Dm
And suffer death   a thousand times

My musician friend plays it like this.
Dm --> Am
  Bb -->
C --> G
A --> E.

I lost the E in my vocal range many years ago because of a growth. So i fiddle around with chords and capo to most songs to suit.
I keep it as simple as possible as i dont possess the talent other chordians have, Boohoo.

Here's a link also for you.  Bright blue Rose is a beautiful song i know you would do justice to this Jimmy McCarty song. I personally love to sing and play this one.

There's loads of stuff on this link for Irish and Scottish songs. Save to fave's.

This is such a good thread i hate missing whats posted here..

Great stuff from all of you musically gifted people. I appreciate it all.

This link isnt an oldie ! But i  do love John Martyn. This song with Ultan Conlon is brilliant i feel.. The hoarse husky voice of John and the young voice of Ultan for me is magic. Something about "the old dog for the hard road about this piece."
Ultan Conlons album is sooooo good to listen to in its own right also.. I hope you enjoy this as much as i..
