That's good stuff smile I've done that a few times as well but I like to add a little applesauce and Worcestershire to the mix with it.

Looking for some good grill recipes to try! I cook out a lot (about 5 days a week) and we're looking to try something new... So what's your favorite grilled food/recipe??

Here's one of my favorites to play that is very easy and almost everyone knows it smile

"Island in the Sun" by Weezer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnAy_ba-3Pg   EM Am D G  All the way through big_smile Not really a slow song though....

I'll throw some more out later when I have more time to post...

I suck.... big_smile

I'd say I'm a decent beginner as well... I'm a good player at my style of play but need to expand my repertoire to be more comfortable playing styles outside my comfort zone. Overall I'm happy with where I'm at though. I can play most songs I come across reasonably well within a few minutes and can follow along with most other players on a whim... My weakness is lead, I don't play it smile I'll throw in little riffs and turn arounds to add interest to the piece but that's about it unless I've been working with it. My biggest hold up is probably vocals sad  (Too much practice alone with the words only in my head) I do ok at home or with a few friends but I still get real nervous playing with people I've just met or don't jam with regularly.  Takes a lot of convincing to get me to lead a song vocally in a play-a-long setting big_smile A beer or 2 would probably help that but I don't drink...

My musical taste is pretty chilled. Here's a few of my favorite artists... Jack Johnson, Mason Jennings, Matt Costa, Brett Dennen, Ketchafire, Black seeds, Dirty Heads, Marley, Pete Murray, Trevor Hall, Xavier Rudd, Amos Lee, Wilco, Tea Leaf Green, ALO, Iron and Wine, Mishka, The Beautiful Girls, Slackstring, Bag of Toys, etc...   I could go on for awhile smile

What style music am I using it for and what tone wood is it matched to??? Who's the builder? What body size and scale legnth??Really, I think this is impossible to answer because every tone wood has it's place.... Finger picking usually favors cedar and strumming goes with spruce... However there are always exceptions, even from one piece of cedar to another and the same for spruce and all it's subspecies.

No need to worry about payment at this time.... Lets get a count and wait till I have them in hand before any currency is traded smile

Easiest payment arrangement would probably be paypal and that offers buyer protection for your piece of mind... However, I would be willing to take a check or us postal money order from trusted chordie members if they didn't care to go the paypal route for some reason.

where did you get these done? they look great.

Signworx did them. He (the owner) is a vendor on CherokeeForum.com, where I frequent. He's made stickers for me in the past, all with great results. The orange Oxbow surfboard symbol on the back of that jeep was one I had him make and he's also done some Yairi Logo's for me, etc...    Drop me a email if you'd like his contact info.

Ok guys and gals, I got 2 versions of the stickers in... One with chordie in blue which worked out to $4.50 each and one all in white which are only $3.50 each... That was quoted based on a bulk order of 50 so it may change slightly depending on the actual count we end up needing. Also we decided to go a little bigger because at 7 inches the proportioned height would make it harder to read, so we ended up at about 11 inches long which gave a proportioned height of 2.5 inches and reads well on the vehicle.

Here's a few quick pics of them on my jeeps (the one with blue showed up better because those windows are tinted, I'm tinting the  back window of the other jeep tomorrow and will post another pic of the white one against the darker background then)

So which one do you like best?? I know the one with blue is a buck more but I like it much better personally... My vote doesn't really count though since I already have mine.

If you want one (or more) please post below how many so I can get a full count for the order!

** As much as I love Chordie, I really don't want to be stuck with a bunch of stickers that I paid out of pocket for... So please be serious when requesting them smile  I'll have to mail them out so 50 cents post would apply making the ones with blue an even $5 and the all white ones $4.  Again, I'm not profiting from this at all! **

Thanks!

I'm a big Zombie fan though... Even sport a zombie sticker on my jeep smile

Yep, That's where most of these were shot. We're in Arden this morning fixing to head to Cherokee via the parkway. Then we'll make our way back toward Chimney Rock/Lake Lure and then on to Mt. Mitchell and maybe Grandfather Mountain if we have time...

Rosewood fan myself.

My next guitar will be Redwood top with Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides in an OM size though...

Currently I've got 4 rosewood, 2 maple and only one mahogany back and sided guit... Never really been a big Mahogany fan except for a 00015S for ragtime and blues. I wouldn't have the Mahogany dread I do have if it wasn't burled mahogany with a 60 yr old cedar top to mellow the tone to my liking. But you know, it's all personal prefrence....

Headed to the mountains this morning with the wife and kids for some cave and Trail hiking. Just figured I'd share a few pics from the day.. (bored at the hotel without my guit)

The wife and my 3 boys...

I looked through all the fonts on my new computer and couldn't find anything that matched that.  I've got more installed on my old system, and when the 4 year old lets me, I'll get on there and look through them and see if I can find one that matches this.  smile

I did some searching around online and found the font. It's called "Russel Square" or "Futured".

I'm getting a sample one worked up and sent to me... As soon as I get it, I'll snap some pics for everyone to see and approve before I place the bulk order. I'll keep you guys informed of how it's progressing.

Anyone know what font is used here? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2470/5756032304_51b73e670d.jpg

MK I'm talking with Signworx.com... He's a vendor on one of the XJ forums I frequent and has made custom stickers for me in the past... He's cut me good deals before and I wanted to be sure it was High grade vinyl so it would hold up in the weather. He's working me up a quote on the first bundle of 50 now but if it doesn't fan out I'll try your suggestion smile

Sup Guys, I'm getting some Chordie stickers made for myself and was wondering if anyone else would be interested in some?

Nothing real fancy, I was just going to get this in die cut vinyl

With  "guitar tabs, guitar chords and lyrics" under it just like you see at the top of the page now but a little bigger (about 7 inches across) & I may opt for a different color (all white with only Chordie being in blue). Anyway, I represent all the other forums I frequent with decals on my vehicles and wanted to do the same with Chordie. Not sure of the sticker prices yet ,though I'd guess around $4 each but may be cheaper depending on how many I order. Would anyone else want one? Just trying to get an idea of how many before I place an order. I'd make no profit on this at all!! I'd just buy them in bulk and pass the actual price on to those who want them...

Cam, I couldn't see the pic... Link said the google acct was inaccessible at this time.

Det, Looks like a sweet project smile I'd love to tackle a bike sometime... Used to build quads but have never owned a bike sad Maybe one day...

As an update, My '89 XJ project is pretty much finished up.  I won't go into everything I've ended up doing but it's been a challenge bringing her back after sitting in a Junkyard for the past 7 years....

this argument will go on regardless of any concensus we may make here. i believe there is a new derivative called "skunk" which is addictive and causes agressive behavior.

we as musicians are all bundled into the same barrel...to the non artistic we are all drug users. i for one am not! they say the beatles were at their most inventive when "high" which makes me sad. i wonder how they managed after their flirtation with contraband ended?

I'm sure it's different in other areas but around here "skunk" is weed of low quality that has been laced, usually with embalming fluid, to make it more affective but it's not a smart idea and can be very dangerous. That stuff, I'd recommend anyone staying away from. It's closer to pcp than pot...

Yeah.  I've just seen smart people become very stupid very fast when smoking it.  Maybe in the minds of those smoking, their behavior is affected, but if you stay straight around people who are smoking you'll see a different story.  That's my personal observation anyway.

As I said, I don't care if people want to smoke it. I've got my own bad habits and so I'd be a hypocrite to pass judgement.  But I do prefer not to be around people when they choose to partake.  That's fair, I think.

- Zurf

Yea Zurf, If they're not real pot smokers it'll affect them more the first few times they do it... Just like cigarettes, the first few packs you smoke have you so light headed you can hardly stand up, but once you smoke a few, it doesn't affect you that way anymore. Same way with pot, the first few times ya get high you get giddy and stupid acting if smoking the wrong kind (sativa). After those first few times though it's just a calming/relaxing affect.
Cannabis is broke down into 2 basic categories/species sativa and indica, Sativa is more of a giddy high (pick me up) and indica is more of a stoned high (relaxant)... There's a big difference between observing real pot smokers and just recreational users. And yep your outlook on it is very fair smile

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm not telling anyone to go out and do it, I just think it's better if people really understand it... smile

My point exactly  Smoke a cigarette and you imbibe 420 chemicals, smoke a joint and imbibe 523.

Neither is good for you.

Roger

Most people don't mix it for J's... It's straight cannabis. I think that's a over the seas thing....

I'd never say that either is good for you but cannabis is no where near as bad as people think and it's educators claiming it's as bad as cocaine and other drugs that make it become a gateway drug. That along with the people (pushers) you are forced to deal with to get it because it is illegal, unless you grow your own that is. They claim it's so bad, you'll go crazy, steal and rob for it , then people try it and realize it's really nothing and figure the harder stuff is just hyped up as well so they try it and get in real trouble... If people where more educated on it we'd have a less sever hard drug problem...

Contrary to popular belief it's not addictive. It doesn't have to be smoked, it can be digested or the safest way is to vaporize...

Alcohol is 10x more dangerous and addictive than cannabis could ever be. You don't get violent or stupid on weed. The only thing a pot smoker is going to hurt is the pantry or fridge smile
