AN EASY ONE AND KNOW TO THE GREAT PUBLIC:
WITHOUT YOU = written and on an album by BADFINGER. A catchy little pop song, but nothing special, until the day it was seen by HARRY NILSSON + MARIAH CAREY.
CAREY? VERY STERILE.
NILSSON? PASSION TO THE BONE.

How many artists did commercials on TV.
- The Bee Gees --> Coca Cola
- Michael Jackson Pepsi Cola
- The EASYBEATS (the band who composed Friday on my mind, and older brother of the AC DC YOUNGS
1) HOW BIG IS THAT LIST = HOW MANY BANDS?
2) IMPACT ON THEIR CARREER or are they HAS BEENS?

Musicians becoming famous thanks to TV.
- The Monkees
- Partridge Family
AND MORE, like Muppet show with that drummer ANIMAL.
There has to be bands who became popular thanks to TV, or in this ERA PC?
Please help me on this.
I believe the title here is right, and I still have some "questions" even "opinions"for later.

Re: As seen on TV...pt.1 (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Great answers.
It is "unthinkable" that other countries have nothing to celebrate.
Here in Belgium it is about the "last 100 days"
But here it is more in bars, cafés and discotheques were "boy meets girl or girl meets boy.
It seems very important the "heat" to be THE PROM QUEEN, who usually has a relation with mr. popular (often the quarterback.)
THE REASON WHY THE TITLE IS: AS SEEN ON TV

Why is "the prom so important" + WHAT S IN FACT A DATE?
Here in Europe we don't have that kind of culture.
We have: boy meet girl, or girl meet boy and we would probably use the phrase "CONQUERED"and the PROM HISTORY is here "unseen" and why is this so important:
- a band (most are from school).
- a boy or girl asking another "WILL or CAN YOU BE MY DATE"and this is as hell if you hear NO.

What is very important on stage for a guitar player, using clean sounds, but also crunch echo...
and amp.
WHICH LINE UP DO YOU USE ON STAGE OR REHEARSAL.
- guitar + effect processor + amp: I use a fender, plugged in to a device and connected with an amp.

I always write to compare prices on online stores. Such as www.musicianfriends.com or www.zzounds.com to compare prices.
The MARTIN D-20 -12 strings is quit expensive.
I have a Martin D-1-12 SOUND = SUPER.

Topic: THE PRODUCER (6 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I read in a few interviews that if that "particular band" in casu U2 would have vanished in thin air if they didn't have "THAT PRODUCER." So U2 wouldn't be that big if it wasn't for Brian ENO, LANOIS, QUINCY JONES
which brings me to the following Q:
A/ WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF A PRODUCER? 40 years ago, a band had 4 albums a year and now 1 album in 4 years.
B/ Is this a "GOOD LIST" of TOP PRODUCERS
1) Quincy Jones
2) Daniel Lanois
3) Brian Eno.
And not to forget: George Martin & Phil Spector

If you watch a serie like "PRISON BREAK" or other "JAIL HOUSE (rock) MOVIES, there is such a typecasting
- The Afro-Americans
- The ARIAN brotherhood
- Other groups
50% of watching a movie, they are "stabbed" in the kitchen, raped by a "big bad guy", and other "guests" in control of everything.
Probably it is exaggeration, but Smoke? = "Fire"

This isn't related with prison, but about songs.
- Bob Marley: great song but I don't understand what he means.
- Rappers: "anti-police"..
As well what is the difference between a SHERIFF and a POLICEMAN, STATE TROOPERS, FBI.
Why is a sheriff elected, and can people as Russell, or UYK (he is already king) or Roger Guppy or me, be elected?
Is there still a "rappers-war"between East and West?
How many bands sing about this subject?

Re: PRISON (20 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
There is a difference indeed.
We (BELGIUM) DON'T HAVE THSE CATEGORIES.
I believe that once you have been in jail you must be very strong to get on with your life.
It isn't easy to judge people, and also: IS IT TRUE THAT EVEN A LITTLE CRIME STAYS IN THE RECORDS FOR GOOD? Or does it dissapear after 10 years? = once a "crook always a crook"

Watching all kinds of programs, I wanted to know something.
- Didn't Johnny Cash perform once in a prison?
- Is this a "one time gig" or are there more artists who played in prison?
- Are convicts allowed to have a music instrument?
OR IS IT THAT BAD IN PRISON, (minimum versus maximum) security.
I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LIFE IN PRISON, IS IT THAT BAD AS SHOWN IN MOVIES? Like Prison Break.

Topic: ADDENDUM CRACKED HEAD + NECK & BODY (2 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I had a crack on my gibson hummingbird, went to my luthier who fixed it (use professional blend). and you must have very sharp eyes to see the line. I had 2pieces= headstock & neck + body.
Worse: A hole or a big crack in the body or the sides. What are the criteria you use (and I noticed that there are more than one luthier here) to REPAIR a guitar like this, and repair it, so well that you have difficulties to see the reparation?
Why this addendum: I have a MARTIN D45V and while in hospital she went at my place to take this guitar. (reason=too expensive)
I don't know what went wrong but in the GUITAR SIDE was a "hole & crack"
Luthier ---> must go to Martin for repair, no replacement by new side on the body, so repair.
PRICE: 2200$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, probably covered by insurance.
I wrote this in an "ADDENDUM" because head - neck - body are discussed here.
The price is high because the guitar had to go back to the USA. NOBODY HERE WANTS TO REPAIR OF A "FORTUNE" guitar. SO PROTECT THEM ALL.
WHAT ABOUT THE VALUE? I payed 5000$ at GRUHN, here in my musicstore she goes over the 11.000$, a sad day. What can I do? going back to the US? I don't think so.
it was a difficult decision, for that money you have a new one, but no D45V

Re: Martin DM cracked neck (17 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I have a GIBSON HUMMINGBIRD with a "decapitation" of the head stock.
These are expensive guitars, and Martin too.
ADVICE: my headstock is glued or fixed by a luthier, I payed a 120$ (3 years ago)

50 years old and still a child.
I hate and do not understand that parents let there kids stay in neverland, knowing the allegations. WOULD YOU, BEING A PARENT, TRUST KIDS TO STAY FOR A WEEKEND WITH A MAN WHO WAS ALREADY ACCUSED? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, and those parents should have been on trial
If we should do exactly the same = jail time
As told MJ was still a child in a grown up body. I also believe, being a MD that he was taking female hormones:
- almost no beard.
- singing AND speaking with a very high voice.
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION HERE?
