Hi Mabledog
I got the same error message trying to add the song to my Songbook.
I don't know what the error is but if you've got time do what admin says and let him know. It will help Chordie..

Good question......
I think it's probably having a decent guitar that keeps in tune and it's in easy to reach so I can just pick it up and make a noise..
I like to say it was some great need in me that keeps me inspired to make music but no just the fun of it keeps me going.

Hard to choose Just "1".....
But I think it's probably "Something" from the Abbey Road album.
Just love the guitar riff by George..

Sorry to hear of Bert Weedon passing. A true guitar pioneer.

It does for me...
Don't click on your id on the front page of chordie it will take you to the page you mentioned.

Hi brianaubin
Welcome to Chordie..
Nothing wrong with a 3 chorder
I liked the raw feel to your song which is all about the futility of war. A noble subject you could say..
I found being on and off really don't get you very far with the guitar which is fine if your happy with your sound but just keeps you in a rut which is hard to get out of.
Maybe you could share the lyrics and chords as well if you've got the time.
Anyway hope you stick around.

Hi slik
You may have a point..
If you read the Frequently Asked Questions in the Resources page it may give you a better idea to the way Chordie works..
ark
Hi lauralaura
Welcome to Chordie
It may sound obivious but if you can't get your fingers around an F#m then try playing the song in a different key..
with no F#m in the progression.

It's been known for some members to lose their right hand boxes or find them at the bottom of the page with bits missing.
Altering screen resolution may work. That's press Ctrl button and the plus or minus keys.
Try a different browser that may work other than that it a mystery...

Welcome to Chordie.
Are you missing all the right handside boxes which contain amongst other things "auto scroll, print, chopro" links?

hey Jeff
It's always good to be optimistic about actually retiring..
What with the national debt and the way to long life expectancy wev'e all got now I hear retirement will be outlawed so only the bankers and govement workers can stop work..
The rest can just keep working and pay their taxes..

Hi jimmer1971
Welcome to Chordie.
This question been asked many times and the answers yes it's normal when learning the guitar.
You will probably get loads of "advice" which is good in it's way but it all boils down to keeping at it with the guitar.
If it get really painful then stop for a while then go back later your finger tips will harden over time and will eventually not be an issue.
I've played for years but still remember the dents, blisters and some pain with learning it's just another fence to jump on the journey.
Keep at it and as they say "No pain no gain"
Got a couple of Washburns myself nice guitars....

Thank you for your reply and advice. Please excuse my gross ignorance but could you please explain what is meant by " new thread" and "new post"? Incidently, I still cannot scroll my songs. No box's seem to want to open up on my screen. HELP please!!!!
Toolooly
Hi Toolooly
Right to do a new post or thread open what forum you think most suits the post you want to do in your case "About Chordie" is ok for your question. On the righthand side just above the second thick blue line there is a link saying "Post new topic" click on that and you see a link saying "Subject" that's the title of your post and "Message" which is where you type your post. At the bottom there are two links which say "Preview" where you can look at you post and edit it if you want before posting and "Submit" which will post your message on the forum as a new post.

Toolooly
Hi Toolooly
Welcome to Chordie.
As Alleyne says please can you start a new post when asking a new question as it a somewhat confusing and will probabaly will not get answered.
Anyway as you are "very new" to chordie I will try to answer your question.
Yes you can scroll songs that are in your my songbook just click on the song and the scroll button is on the righthand side of the page in one of the boxes if your screen is set up ok.
ark
Hi Alleyne
Welcome to Chordie.
Add the song to your personal songbook. The option to edit is next to the song title in "My songbook"
when added.
Glad see to another Brit.

Hi Rabid
Welcome to Chordie.
An Acoustic electric with a wide neck can sound as loud as you want plugged into an amp and with the proper FX can sound just like an electric guitar.
An electric guitar would have to be plugged into amp anyway so maybe stick with an acoustic electric if you feel more comfortable with a wider neck.

ricktheplumber wrote:I was wondering can i keep making diffirent songbooks for different songs like one songbook of country and another songbook with rock & roll? I would never think of spamming as i have been playing for 30 years now and my memory bank of songs in my head are slowly getting smaller and i love to have the song in front of me while i play.
Thanks for the reply
Hi rick
Hope your not offended by my reply. We try to keep Chordie as free as possible from Spam posts and as your 1st post was some what vague I thought there could be a potenial spammer at work. Glad I was wrong..
As to your question I think it has been answered by benson and bswyers.
I'm a long time player myself so I empathise with the memory thing or lack of
Enjoy the forums

Hi ricktheplumber
Welcome to Chordie.
I'm not to sure what your asking here could you explain your question a little better.
BUT if your thinking of spamming later then don't because you will be BANNED!

Hi MB
A bass walk from C to Am is quite common. Keeping the C chord shape (The five string version) just move your fouth finger down a fret to B note then move it over to finger the Am Chord. If your strumming then just play the note on it's own between the transistion.

rstauffe wrote:i just got my own recording system and would like to record songs that i have done over the years where can i find out witch song i can use without paying for them
I'd go ahead and record the covers if that's what you mean.
The worst that can happen if you put them up on You tube etc is they will remove them.
There must be millions out there on the web and I've not heard of any individual going down for recording one.

Gotta love the interview with Jimmy asked if he going to make music his career he says "Oh no I'm going to do Biological research about germs"
Glad he contiued with guitar and not the test tube..

Hi M.B.
With todays musical technology it possible get mostly any modern guitar with the appropriate FX to sound like anything you want sound wise.
Purist would disagree but in general this true of all electronic generated music.
Un-FX guitars are all total different in sound and looks and all guitarist have there favorites so I guess it will always matter whether Gretsch White Falcon or a Fender Stratocaster is being played.

M.B. wrote:My problem, well one of them, is that when I'm writing lyrics I have a tendency to be too literal, if that's the right word. What I mean is, that I try to make everything too clear, insofar as trying to get my meaning as clear as possible.
Hi Marybeth
Welcome to Chordie.
You don't have to be a poet to be a songwriter clear to the point lyrics are just as good as lyrics couched in metaphoric ambiguity.
Sometimes it's best to play to our strengths in our songwriting at first and develop as we go on and see where it takes us.
Dylan is a master poetical song writing but also written great music to go with them if only we all could....
Good luck with songwriting.
