Very good song Mojo. Need to do that around a camp fire.

Thanks Phill - As for speed, I was playing it more at a quick more bluegrassy speed, which usually gives time for more music. It would be a good campfire song giving people a chance to show off their playing skills.

Hey Scott - Looks like another good one for you. Your words ring true and surly come from deep within you. I'm looking forward to hearing how you play it.

Enjoyed that Phill. I have been through that situation as well with both of my children, and I wish they were both still here or at least close enough to stop by occasionally. Just finished listening to it as well and I enjoyed your performance. The music fits the lyrics and I agree with your use of the keyboard/piano.

Not bad for two guys who have never met in person! LOL

Yep, not bad at all. We're going to have to fix that someday.

Thanks Pete and Graham. Yep, I am staying safe.

Just to add, the verse is mostly [A]La da da, la [E]da da da da, La [E]da da da da da [A]da...and so on. I should know the orgins of this tune because it is familiar, but maybe some of my older and wiser chordie friends can identify it. I believe it is of classical orgin.The bridge changes things up a little and goes with a A to D to B7 then to E, at least that is the way I hear it. I tried to dig out the lyrics listening, but some of the singers words are difficult to understand with my old American ears.

Hey blitz01,
Welcome to chordie! I couldn't find lyrics or chords anywhere, but as for chords, they sound to me like an A E song for the most part. Listen on your own, try playing along, and I'm pretty sure you can figure it out. I did go to The fureys official website (http://www.thefureys.com/) to see if they might want to share and I will let you know if they get back with me. In the meantime, see if you can figure it out from the clues I gave. I find no greater joy than figuring out on my own the chords and lyrics of a song I want to learn. Happy Hunting!

Here's one I wrote tonight. Again, relating to what some of us are going through.

Do It All Again Jeff Gilpin – 5/23/2020

~~~~~~~~~~
Intro Strumming G
~~~~~~~~~

[G]Woke up today the usual way in this [D]weird old time.

Went to make the coffee but found it already [G]made.

Poured myself a cup then I sat my[C]self on down.

[G]Tried to figure out [D]what we’re gonna do to[G]day.

~~~~~~~~~
Well we’re [G]not going to go and have ourselves a [D]shopping spree.
We’re not going to do any window shopping [G]too.
Places all are closed where I would [C]want to go, so
I [G]guess I’ll stay at home and [D]spend my day with [G]you.
~~~~~~~~~

And we might [C]hang out in the yard,

Or [G]dive into a book ,

Or [C]learn to make that recipe

That we’ve [G]always wanted to cook.

We could [C]watch the newest movie,

Or maybe [G]re-watch Gone With the [Em]Wind.

Then we’ll [G]wake up the next day and

[D]Do it all a[G]gain.

~~~~~~~~~
Sure enough the day is starting off with rain again.
Been coming down like this every other day.
Supposed to clear up with the sun rising into the sky
If only the weather will do what the weather men say.
~~~~~~~~~

Doesn’t really matter. We’re not going anywhere anyway

While the world is spinning on like it doesn’t care.

People are acting strange. I’m not sure who all to believe.

The safest plan is not to go anywhere.

~~~~~~~~~
But we might hang out on the deck.
Knock out some D I Ys,
Or maybe today you can pick
Something sure to surprise.
How about we order take out.
Have a nice romantic meal and then
We can wake up the next day and
Do it all again.
~~~~~~~~~

[D]I don’t have a problem

[C]Finding stuff to [G]do.

So [D]long as it’s just you and me babe

[C]Every day is [D]new.

~~~~~~~~~
Repeat 2nd Chorus but end with: [D]Do it all a[C]gain. [G]
Here's one I just wrote. Fits this current mood I'm in, and of the world too I guess. Kind of a bluegrassy finger pickin the chords sort of thing.
My Fingers Bleed- by Jeff Gilpin - 5-9-2020
Intro A// D// A// G// – G// A// D// G/ A/
[A]Can’t go to work
And I [D]Work from home
[A]Can’t wake up
When I’m [G]all alone
~~~

Chorus

[G]Don’t want to write

Don’t [A]want to read

[D]Eyes so tired

My [G]fingers [A]bleed

~~~
Walk outside
Go back in
Day just started
Begin again
~~~

Chorus

~~~
Don’t want a cat
Don’t want a dog
Don’t want to lay
Like a bump on a log
~~~

Chorus

~~~
Play Intro Again
~~~

Bridge

[D]Tell you what I’m gonna do

[G]Get myself on [A]out of this mood

[A]Put on some music

[D]Hum along

[G]Don’t even matter

Don’t [E]know the song [E7]

~~~
Made it through
Another day
Sure enough another
Heading my way
~~~

Chorus  - end on A and let it linger

Is there any way to add original songs to a songbook?

YES! And here's how: 1-Start a new song book. 2-Add a bunch of songs that are already on chordie. 3-Edit the songs in your song book by pasting in your songs. That's it! Just make sure you have it in Chordpro format and it will work!

Thanks jets60
I would be interested in how I messed up, and what you did to fix it :-)
Thanks,
Gord

All I did was add [ s o n g  ] at the top and [ / s o n g ] at the bottom of your song.

Hey Gordo - I tried it out and enjoyed your song Edge of Love. Interesting transition from A G to F G, but it sounded good to me, at least the way I think it goes. I would enjoy hearing your rendition if you post it somewhere. Welcome to Chordie and I look forward to hearing more from you.

All Fixed!

Hey Phill and Pete - Thanks. Phill, you're correct. Lyla as much older than when I wrote the song. She is going to be something special let me tell you. Yes - Chordie does makes me feel old sometimes. Pete, it is the perfect song for her, then and now.
