Glad to be of help Zurf!  If you also fret the first string first fret then it's a true Fmaj7.  I can get that B7 but I am so slow to get it fretted... good for me the few songs that have called for it so far are at slow spot in the song where I can pick it out one note at a time as I'm getting my fingers in position.  I'm also working on a "cheater" Bm using just the three high strings.  I do continue to TRY the others tho!  Thanks to your advise I found the B7 actually fits just as well as the Bm in that spot in the song!  LOL

Robyn, when I looked at your site, I did see links to Chordie as well as well as other useful free sites and commercial sites.  I looked again, and you're right, you've done a lot of work linking to free information.  So first off, I am sorry for saying "most of the links".  That was an unfair statement.  You do have commercial sites listed, but no... those are not "most of your links".

Regardless of the content, your link still does fall under "unauthorized advertising" of your own website, and other moderators agree.  I understand you are trying to get some helpful information to add to your site, and that is why your post was left here and only the link was removed.

Again, I do think your site could be useful to other members, and you will need to contact the administrator to obtain permission to advertise on Chordie.  Yes, that is an authorized advertisement on the side of the page.  There are no membership fees to belong to this website and hosting a site such as this is not free, it has to be paid for somehow.  Those advertisements are what helps to keep this site going.

If you have any further questions about this, feel free to email me privately or email the website owner admin@chordie.com

Wow!  I did not even look under her name, I had just done the search by song name.  Good find Icecubetray3pak!

Interesting thing I learned today... finding songs converted from guitar to ukulele tunings is not so easy and Chordie does it again.

How does this work for you, as an actual ukulele player Lizzy?

Ha ha!  If only it were that easy ... tongue

Lizzie... I suggest starting a new thread in "Other Stringed Instruments" and titling it "Help converting song from guitar to Uke" ... explain that you have the guitar chords for this song and ask if anyone can help you convert it to Ukulele.  Remember to keep all copyrighted lyrics and chords off the site.  You might be able to get some help via emailing one another.

I just edited the title of your thread and added in the word Ukulele, maybe that will help grab the attention of those who may be able to help!  wink

So TonyBlue what you're saying is that I could officially get out of dish duty if I started using a standard pick more often?  My thumb pick doesn't fall out of my hand and I just bought a couple new ones yesterday (they look like a normal pick with the thumb attachment!)... hmmm... I guess I was a day late on this one.  sad

Hi Robyn and welcome to the Chordie Forums!

Please take a moment to read the stickies at the top of each section before posting, such as this one on Chat Guidelines:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9795

Your link had to be removed.  While it looks like it will eventually be a good resource for guitar players, at the moment most of the links take users to outside commercial websites to purchase products.  Once your site is more complete, if you would like it to be included in the resources section (as a reciprocal link) you may contact the web admin, Per, at admin@chordie.com to request such.

We wish you luck on your project.  Please feel free to jump in and talk with other members throughout the forum about guitar playing etc... as I'm guessing by building this resource you have some valuable experience that could be of good use!  smile  Thank you!

Amy

So far, I found this... wonder if it'll help?  Pretty incomplete, but it's a start and of course you can change the tuning on the right side of the screen to UKE in C or D

Do you mean "Blues Man"?  I searched for the exact phrase you typed here and these came up as possible matches, available right here on good ole Chordie!  Welcome to the forum Kalep!

Hi Lizziewort!  Welcome to the Chordie Forum!  I saw that you accidentally started this thread twice and I deleted the duplicate.  When I get a little more time I'll do a search online for you and see if I can find anything.  Do you know who the author or original singer is?

I agree with our lovely Doll... bouncy even just reading the poem!  While the recession has taken a lot away from us, it has also given us something to write about and music to play!

Stransongs very nice writing.  There were so many wars that we had to learn about in our American and World History classes in school that I often daydreamed during class.  I can say I didn't know much about the Mexican-American war at all myself.  Very interesting reading about this however.  I would choose to have an Irishman on my side any day.  That battalion appears to have been quite a strong force in body and spirit.  It sounds to me that without them, Mexico City would have become part of the US.  Mexico and Ireland have a lot to celebrate in these brave men.

Buvvy, the lyrics to this remind me of so many heavy metal songs that people will enjoy the catchy tune and sing along with, never really knowing what the song is actually about.  Then, one day someone will point it out to them and suddenly they will love the song even more.  My husband listens to a lot of Korn and their songs are like that.  I'm usually the one having the meaning pointed out to me.  I think you have given this topic of injustice justice with your lyrics.  I'd love to hear how it's played!

funtimesman...  you've posted the same question in three different threads.  It is not necessary to continue asking the same question in more than one location.  Please be patient and someone may be able to help you.

I can't even begin to imagine being capable of playing like that!

I love the lyrics Jim!  You should try adding some walk ups and downs in there!  It would make that country feeling really ring through in this one.  Excellent job on your Open Mic!  Thanks for sharing this with us smile

Jim you have a very impressive list here, but like Selso, I am a bit confused as to what you're getting at with posting this huge list.

Chordie is actually a search engine.  None of the songs on Chordie are actually hosted here on this website.  The songs are found on other websites and indexed here to make them easier to find in one place, therefore Chordie has very little control how the songs are titled or formatted.  There is a little formatting that can be read (chopro) and then configured into an easier to read layout which Chordie translates for you when they are found in that format.

So, I understand you're annoyed with some misprints and incorrect information, however the people that originally submitted these songs online are not being reached with your comment.  They come from all over the web.  If that was your intent, I don't think posting up your entire songbook content was necessary.

If you look at the FAQ's link, you can get some more details about this in a way that might make more sense than how I'm putting it here:  http://www.chordie.com/faq.php

Or, are you just trying to let us all know about all the hard work you did putting these songs into your computer?  I am confused.  Or were you offering to send people your "corrected songs" and listing what you have if they were looking for them?

Mike that's a very cool story!  I tried not to be too loud as I didn't want us to be the "jerks at the beach" too!  We just brought the guitars with to do something while the girls played... I never thought myself to put out a tip jar.  Toots, your story is pretty neat also.  I personally don't like gulls too much, they will steal things off your beach blanket when you go into the water around here!  We worry about them stealing things more than we worry about people stealing things! smile

WOWIE... I just came across some really cool multi-track recording on Youtube, and A Cappella at that.  Look some up, there's a bunch on there, I had no clue.  Here's one very talented young man that just blew me away!

Did a little Google search.  I'm not sure if this is it, but it appears to be what you're probably looking for.  Anyhow, it's C F and G, check it out here:  http://www.chivalry.com/cantaria/lyrics/allaround.html

Some of our UK and Irish friends might have more insight as reading the writings on this it seems a popular folk song for them.  Perhaps they'll chime in here when they get some time.  Have fun!  smile

Thanks Al and Doug!

When I first joined Chordie I was unsure if I'd be welcomed as it did seem very "fraternal"... turns out this place is about guitars and music as it would suggest, someone who plays is someone who plays.  So ladies... get in here.  The guys treat us right and very equal here at Chordie.  I too hope it helps Doug wink
