That is a good song for a great state in which i'm proud to say that i live in. I'm from Dublin/Adrian in mid state which is actually one of the larger small towns that Georgia is made up of. I would like to see more of NC and Virginia someday i'm sure they are just as nice.

The only way i keep pics is i hide them where only i know where they are and buy crappy pics to leave lying around for everyone else to use that may come by to jam.

Hey Z I have also felt the same as you with my practice appreciation. I was told by someone with alot more experience that if you try to play a song the exact same as the original you will never be satisfied. I say try the original but add some of yourself into it  and change it up and you will be alot happier with your progress. It works for me and i have found my  personal sound now instead of copying others.

Both mine stay in tune pretty well but i still fine tune them each time i play especially if i use a capo for a while.

I'm 36 from Georgia U.S. I've been teaching myself guitar for the past 10 years or so but seriously for the past 2 years. I learn something new on it every time i pick it up.

It's easier for me to play in G, E, or D but i usually capo it in A# or B for my vocal to sound right with it.

Selso i'm sorry to hear of you injury and loss. I once worked as a detention officer at a youth correction prison and i know what you went through. It takes alot to stay with a job like that. Your ex employer will have a hard time keeping a good replacement. May you and your wife be blessed through this in some way.

I want to get more relief from the tension on the strings so they won't be so hard to chord. Which way do i turn the hex screw to adjust the neck for relief or back draw? I didn't realize how hard my guitars were to chord until i played one set up this way. It makes a world of difference in playability.

You may want to try the Takamine Jasmine S-35 for $99. While it's not a solid top it is one of the best  lower end guitars you will play. I've had mine for 10 years now and i love it. I actually play it more than my more expensive solid top. Just lower the action on it and put on some phosphor bronze strings and you will be sure to love it.

To each their own but my first guitar was a Takamine Jasmine that i paid $100 for 10 years ago. It hasn't been through any other set ups other that lowering the action and changing the strings. I still choose to play it over my New Takamine that costed 5 times more and it actually plays better than any Martin or Gibson i have tried. Like i said  though to each their own but a cheapy guitar can be a really good friend if you treat it right.

I know i may be a little behind on this but this guy is really good. Does anyone else compare to his acoustic abilities that i might not know of?

I enjoy fishing and camping but rarely get to go. I've always loved classic cars and trucks also but that gets really expensive.

"Amazed" by Lonestar is a great one and not too hard to play.

I've been a member since 7/10/07 but i didn't get active on the forums until late last year.

I just came across an add for  Red Guitar strings which is a new brand of string. They supposedly have a warmer sound than 80/20 and phosphor bronze and last longer too. Has anyone tried them or seen this add?

Craig it sounds like you had alot of fun. The way you wrote the story sounded as if you were telling how you got into the big time. I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.

Have you ever considered playing the lead parts or just the root notes to his rhythm? I've done this before and it sounds really good but timing is very important to get it right.

It looks really nice but i can't quite make out what kind it is. Looks like a strat / tele hybrid. Whatever it is it looks very cool.

Sometimes if a capo is left on for a while it can pull the strings out of tune when it's taken off. Just give em a tune up and they should be fine.

You could try some hammer on and pull offs. Maybe even bounce your fret hand on the chords. Alot of the spice you are looking for comes with a faster strum pattern. Just experiment with everything and stick with what sounds good to you.

Zurf i wouldn't consider myself a mutant. I still have a hard time with the dreaded F chord. I can't seem to barre it and make it clean.

I have seen many use the only the ring finger to "hinge" bar the A shape.  I can't get my ring finger to behave that way and when I do attempt it, I end up flipping the bird.....

This is how i form the B chord and it works good for me. I just drop my middle finger on top on my index to help apply pressure for the barre and to avoid flipping the bird. It's the same with Fm and Gm chords also (two fingers). I guess it helps to have long fingers for this.

***Moderator note. During editing you had deleted the "]" from the end of the quote 'switch on' signal and deleted the 'switch off' ("/quote" within "[]") completely. Without these being absolutely correct the quote box will not work correctly. I have corrected this for you so I hope it helps***
