I did get to play this for the neighbors who I wrote this for.  Sorry for any confusion, but I don't have a wife; just a special girl who lives with me as my wife; just not married in the eyes of the government.  This was written for the neighbors after a conversation with them.   When I played it for them, she cried and got a little emotional.  I played it around the campfire just the other night and everybody there liked it also.  Always nice to get the seal of approval from MKM and the "Old Doll".  Thanks Lena and Amy and everybody else.  A little inspired to try something else; maybe soon.

She picks my dirty clothes up off of the floor
makes me breakfast on the weekend morns
She ain't my wife
but she sure is my Special Girl  smile

So sweet that the neighbor wife got emotional ... so nice to be able to hit home and make someone feel that special something with your words and music!  Fantastic feeling isn't it?  Big ole pats on the back and CONGRATS!

I'm really not sure.  I have a 14 yr old, 5 yr old and 3 yr old.  I try to find songs that they might like since they don't care for "the music of yesterday" that I play all the time.  It seems, if they hear it enough however... they get into it.  I know it's not something "new" but I do "You are my sunshine" -2 here:  http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/?url= … anspose=-2  - My little girls like it!

Here's one that's not too bad and is a newer song for the teens, "Broken" :  http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/?url= … ranspose=0

Good luck!

I wonder fatstrings, would that scare away the Mama Blue?  That would be aweful to hear if she abandoned her young because of trying to keep the magpies away.  Good luck Old Doll... let us know if you figure it out!  big_smile

I'll second that Zurf!  Welcome to the forum Plank Spanker (interesting handle).

Until I get music theory down ... I'd love someone to provide me with a complete cheat sheet of what happens with each common open chord when capo is used on each fret (1-4 anyhow).  That would be far more than anyone is willing to contribute... but it sure would be awesome to have!  big_smile

Make sure you stick around James!  No longer a Mod, but always a member of the big Chordie family!

Congrats Zurf!

Now... who's first to attempt to sell their lovingly used instruments, accessories, and one of a kind musical masterpiece CD's in the new Marketplace? ;D

Stealstrings ... WOW... with the info given, the song makes a LOT of sense now!  Very deep, profound, and sincere.  Therapy through music is a blessing... I sure wish I'd have picked up a guitar sooner myself.  Keep up the great work, inside and out!

Sounds like a heck of a week!  I agree with Kenny... some beers and relaxation.  Sounds like you found a little of that with the boat (and YAY no accidents).  Hope next week is a lot better for you!

Welcome to the forum both of you!  Siminup and ApeDoctor!  smile  Please take a moment to read the stickies at the top of each section.  Siminup - You went through a lot of trouble to help out - THANK you very much, sadly Chordie cannot have any copyright lyrics posted on the forum due to legal issues as stated Here - Song Requests Stickie.  I hope ApeDoctor can figure out what you have here with just the chords and a few lyrics left behind.  I'm sorry sad  Please feel free to jump in elsewhere on the forums as well.  There's a lot of good friendly helpful people like yourself here!

I don't have one, but by all means go check out all the guitars they've got on sale this weekend and find one that speaks to you (and  your wallet).  Any day is a great day for a new guitar.  There's lots of good reviews about this model online.  It's possible this model may have been one that I was considering last time I was shopping, there was a Yamaha in the list of contenders, although I decided on an Epiphone.  Good luck and Have fun shopping!

Wow!  You didn't waste any time Pix!  Good job!  It's beautiful

Welcome to the forum Steve!  Everybody here is pretty nice and friendly!

I agree... it's fun to fiddle with different songs, but when you get around other people (guitar players or not), they want to hear a whole song.  There's nothing worse then going to the campfire and someone bringing out a guitar to tool around on and every time they start playing and everyone starts getting into it - they stop.  I LOVE my Dad, but he's "known" for doing that.  It's frustrating.  At least try to learn one or two so you're prepared for it when someone else is around!  smile  Unless you enjoy being a "closet guitarist"  big_smile

Nope.  I assume it's on your end.  Malwarebytes is a great free program for removing viruses (it's not an antivirus blocker, just a removal tool).

I think it looks good Pix!  I like the angle on it.  Will that design offer the desired effect with the sound port?  Seems they tend to be round, although I imagine sound will come through the hole no matter what shape it is!

Zurf, I'm guessing that change from a whopping $0 per day to $00 just was missed by our senior members big_smile All those zeros are hard to add up when there's no one in front of em!  smile

"Do Not Hump"

My dad took a few of these from the railroad yard and had placed them on friends vehicles years ago.  It actually refers to a method used to couple (or uncouple) train cars.  It's funny to see on an automobile, most people don't know what it actually means.

Hump Yard: A railroad freight yard built on an incline (appears like a hump) where cars are pushed up a hill, and roll down the otherside, where switches and retarders are thrown to put them on the correct track using gravity, instead of fuel. Some cars are not designed to go through the devices in hump yards, and are labeled so "Do Not Hump"

SteelStrings - I think I like it... I'd love to hear the meaning behind it, and a recording when you get around to it!  smile

Thanks GEST for the correction on the link.  Thanks Daddy for finding it for our new member and helping out, funny how one little letter can make a huge difference sometimes sad You did good though!  smile

Arie - please begin a new thread asking for help with this.  By posting your off topic question here you will not be likely to get answers.  This topic was started by the original poster looking for help in purchasing a new electric guitar.  Your question is misplaced, and is considered "post hijacking".  We'd love to help you out, but please start a "new topic" for your question.  Thank you!

The SX, Douglas and Agile guitars are top notch begginer, intermediate, or pro guitars and affordable enough to modify into an outstanding performer guitar. They can be found at Rondomusic.com ranging in price from $70 to $600. The Jay Turser and Xavier guitars are also very affordable and quality made.

+1 on Rondo Music!!!!

I will second that... and fast shipping to boot!  My son's SX only cost around $99 and came with a little practice amp yet it's higher quality materials than a squire.

Ha ha!  That IS a good one Cam!  You're such a good sport for going with her to the "nut isle" too, wondering what in the world she was trying to teach you about walnuts (maybe if you throw them hard enough you could knock a mouse out with a walnut?).  LOL!  Good one!  big_smile

Oh there are MANY different types of scrunchies... some are fluffy, some are frilly... there are even some that are terry cloth like a head band... in fact, there are cloth headbands that girls wear in their hair ... but not like a "sweat band".  Yeah, I guess a scrunchie is kind of like a wrist sweat band though!  LOL!  I guess whatever you name your new invention, will have to be somewhat masculine!

Sounds like you just need a sleeve... cut off the sleeve from an old shirt and try using the scrunchie to hold the top of the sleeve up near your elbow?  Don't make me get my sewing machine out!  smile
