I like to know how many people on this site play:
- only electric, or the 2 guitarkinds together
- only acoustic
I play about 80% acoustic and 20% electric, meaning that I have to put myself in the acoustic group. Even stranger is that I can blow everything away playing electric, because of the construction of my house, my neighbours live more than 50yards from my house

EASY???????????????????????????? I think it is worth learning to read tabs, but I think it's not that easy, maybe because I play more "riffs" and "licks" like keith richards, but a lot worse of course. For Keith it is his job, for me a hobby

Topic: fender and gibson why (5 replies, posted in Electric)
why
FENDER & NOT GIBSON
WHY GIBSON & NOT FENDER
A lot, but really a lot have played on a fender strat or tele, and or Gibson.
Fender better? don't buy one becaue your guitarhero has one---> clapton, who's real name is just simple eric CLAPP, or for gibson ---> Jimmy Page. The way I try a guitar: sitting on the amp, like you will sit on a horse: same volume, same tone and the vibrations, well they from an open little hole between the legs, to the head, passing and giving a feeling in the stomach regio. What I mean, you have to FEEL the guitar. My first choice is PRS.
I just heard about the typical distinguished gibson sound, are the character of the wood, and they use heavy stuff. At the same time they told me that the humbuckers are "Directly in contact with that wood" and this should be the reason WHY a gibson sound is very typical, resonance effect on the wood.
There is one thing about GIBSON: difficult to keep them in tune.
Best choice: probably NOS 59 reissue.
I have also fenders, 1 all original 1964, I really don't know, why those prices are so high, even being amazed like a kid when I play on it. Question is it normal to pay 20.000$ for an old guitar?I have no right to complain, I own it. Got the strat and a gibson 67 or 68 custom, anyway the first year they started again producing customs (black), I did change the humbuckers by P-94's singles, You can blow away everything, and for a while I had a BFG gibson, humbucker bridge single neck, I should change again.

It is a long time, and being myself a co-worker (bad stage, mostly doing nothing, just dreaming what if...) the monstrous groups, talking about those old farths, rolling stones, who still remain a value in musicland, (I am afraid that they have to tour, because how many "big bang's did they sell, to see what monstertrucks, even a 747, are needed for 1 gig and in the meanwhile, "stageco" a BELGIAN product, are putting 500 miles more south, the same stage together. Does anyone know how much this costs?

Thanks for the links. My humble opinion is that, if you are 1/ old enough 2/ smart enough, and having problems, the smarter u get by concluding and learning of mistakes you made.
In that case a manager is not needed. But they can achieve "maybe" more. You don't need to be an "educated man", and for some people, money gives a fantastic smell. How can somebody explain why so many good groups are ripped of by their surroundins, manager(s), and a lot of others. Even the Rolling Stones had their "financial bad" period, just because of their manager.
See the sex pistols, a guy named malcolm mc laren had a shop, and in fact he was very clever creating THE PERFECT punk group.
If you open the papers, some groups look or have a conduct, or name to score. Remember Nirvana, they were considered as sh**, and presented the same way. I can tell you a lot of this image, told me PERSONNALY by Dave Grohl, he even invited me at his place, but shame on me, I had token my holiday already, and if you are independent, no work, no money. But this was an unique opportunity. I still regret it. GROHL for instance was originally from a more upperclass family, mother professor, or lawyer, or was it the father. So decent people, NOT FITTING AT ALL IN THEIR IMAGE AND ATTITUDE.
I can write books about musicians.
Thanks
BTW where are you from?

I am sure that there are chordians, who did record a song and put that song on the market.
A label is interessed and no "myspace" or "youtube", just like a few years ago.
The label gives you credit, and don't forget the small phrases, and YIPPIYAHOO, you get studiotime to make your first song.
I am, as gitaardocphil, the songwriter, and another member wrote the lyrics. You do have a hit, selling 2.000.000 copies.
I am very interessed in the way of splitting the money: you have the FOLLOWING FACTS.
- the writer of the tune/melody.
- you have someone who wrote the lyrics.
- your band is performing that song.
THE MANAGER: WHERE IS HE STANDING AND WHAT FUNCTION DOES HE HAVE HERE? BECAUSE AT THE MOMENT YOU GET THAT OFFER YOU DIDN'T HAVE ONE
The Label has also THE FOLLOWING FACTS.
- RECORDING THE SONG: thanks to them you were able to record the song, and recording in a professional studio is not cheap.
- the producer, unless one of your bandmembers produced it.
I hope someone out there knows more of splitting let's say 100$ between everybody, who participated in your song.
Who gets what, better is there a kind of key to pay everybody.
Like the singer who gets for instance 5%, the writer 5%.... Can someone help me with this topic?
Thank you all.

EXAMPLE: I write a song, here in our very small country: BELGIUM.
Someone living in the USA, hears me playing that song. I was, lucky for me, able to handle this song when I wrote it, to the national organisation, called SABAM, here. In contrary to my performance, the US citizen can't forget the tune, he doesn't even remember that he heard me playing that song, and works it out, very professional, with very good structures, harmonies and arrangements, handling the song (lyrics can be entirely different) to the copyright organisation in the USA, and by coincidence his song becomes a million seller. WHERE AM I STANDING IN THIS PICTURE, with proof I handled it first. When you write a song, do you have to handle this song only in your country, or in other countries as well?

Topic: changing style of playing (1 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I play more or less 30 years, the beautiful guitar instrument, it looks in my eyes so simple, better would be complex by it's simplicity. This fact of playing already so long, both acoustic and electric is giving me in fact more problems than benefits. BECAUSE YOU PLAY YOUR OWN STYLE. Some of us play solos on electric guitars from 07.00 - 19.00, others just play rythm, style Tom Fogerty, or David Knopfler, because you don't notice them, because the real guitarist is so good that they are playing at the sideline.
My style of playing guitar is an in between style. I love it when I start playing and people recognise very soon the song I am playing. It is very difficult to determine my guitar skills. I am not a "solo" man, but more a Keith Richards style guitarplayer, loving RIFFS and LICKS. Difference, I am zip compared with him. Other people tell me that my style is more "leadguitar" and somewhere I agree, if I play with other and preferring better players. Due to my job, wich I don't excercise probably for ever, I wasn't able to develop a particular style, but MORE IMPORTANT, I do not have the patience, everything has to happen asap.
So I described my style, I call it melodical strumming in combination with riffs and licks.HERE THE IMPORTANT QUESTION: is it still possible to change style???? I love to read and play tabs, but as I told: no patience. I would love to play my acoustic guitar in fingerpicking style, but I am afraid that after a few moments, I am strumming again, or move the guitarstrings with my plectrum wich is already a kind of fingerpicking. ARE THERE PEOPLE HERE WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM?? and is a number of lessons useful? I try to be honest: I come home again, and what happens is, you start fingerpicking, and after 10 minutes, you play again the style you like since 30 years. IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE YOUR STYLE AFTER HAVING PLAYED ANOTHER STYLE FOR 30 YEARS.
AM I ALONE, OR ARE THERE "CHORDIANS" WITH THE SAME PROBLEM???

Re: "Shopping Cart Cowboys" (18 replies, posted in Songwriting)
James
I love the song you wrote, the lyrics, but I don't have a clue about finding a melody.
Me and my best friend, just composed 3 songs, I will probably put them here on a bright sunny day.
Is there a way to find "the melody" starting with the lyrics? I can't play a song in E or C, if I don't have the melody in my head.I asked it already, if there is a kind of program on chordie, to put the melody? Or to hear songs do you need to go to the world famous, youtube, or myspace wich brings me to the following point: IS IT possible, when a "chordian" writes a song to hear the melody???
I told I wrote 3 songs, with a friend, there is a song more hardrock style, another is a kind of samba-jazz, with FRENCH lyrics, I even found a site http://www.arkade.com/, I don't know if it's a good one, but I just wanted to show the construction of the french song we made.
I will try to put here the chord to start with.
Barre on 5th fret
f f f f f f barre on the 5th fret
x x x f x x
x x f x f x
and once you have this chord in your fingers, you start a blend of strumming and fingerpicking.
Big E-string, alternate with A-string, and with this chord you can go up, you can go down. When I play it I go from the 5th fret to the 3th fret, FINGERS ALWAYS in the SAME POSITION. No matter where you are on guitar, the chord remains, but you can move it up and down, with alternate strumming, big E and A string. It ain't very easy, but I play already a long time.
The "rough" lyrics, still a lot of work is needed goes like: je t'attends, j'ai le temps, meme dans la neige, du très mauvais temps, je me mets a mon aise et je t'attent, bienque je sais que cette semaine, je ne t'endant pas, mais j'attends, et blabla bla bla. I still need a lot of work to work it out, and it is also quit difficult to take these chords (I even don't know the name of the chord), and once I can play them properly myself, the music is resulting in a kind of jazz-samba, and the only thing to do is playing it and trying it out going up and down the frets. We also have that same chord down, and I think it is Amaj7, down on the guitar, or should I say up, you can figure out that those chords played in a correct way, you have the beginning chords of the George Harisson song "something" A Amaj7 and A7

Dear mr MCCORMICK, easier is James of course. I still want to thank you for answering questions, I don't know you as person, but at least you are one of those who have it difficult to say NO.
I saw your song, I suppose, and I really want to play it, as I wrote already, I, and probably a lot can play about 50 different chords, including chords like Fmaj7 (easy, but not that easy) and Edim, Cm, B#7 to name a few unusual chords. I am not a schoolteacher, but this site is SUPER, I can't get enough (isn't that a song). I am born in 1955, Belgium, Europe, and I just write to tell you that I am a fan of every answer you give. I trie to do the same, answering, mostly starters. I think at this moment, MORE THAN 100.000 registred users, it will be more difficult to follow everything, but I will help where I can. I was once a "rookie" too, and my first decent guitar was a Yamaha FG-300, who is getting good critics now, for over 30 years I have this axe. I just have to replace my tuners, it is very difficult, more immpossible to put on a string. I do think that most people here are familiar with the guitar and I even wrote a topic about very cheap BUT good sounding acoustics. Electrics, wich I use also a lot are easier to judge, and playing electric on a guitar like STAGG, sounds almost like a Fender, if you start using distortion and other effects. If I can help somewhere I do it. I just posted this mail, because every little bit helps other guitarplayers.

Re: The Difference between a Gibson Flying V faded and a regular reissue? (3 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I do agree, and I do not agree.
The Korina wood I knew, and if the GOD's are on your side, it is probably possible you can ask Gibson to make a KORINA FLYING V.
The reason that I wrote, longer letters than in my datingperiod, to go and see for yourself on the GIBSON.COM site.
I think like I wrote they are all made in the same wood, except the neck of 1 of these 3, available in EBONY/OR ROSEWOOD. So only rosewood should make the difference then?.
Have you ever been to a gibson "plant", I prefer place where they make a lot of these beauties.
The only one you can visit is the Memphis Factory, where all the "LUCILLES" are made and of course all "semi-hollow" bodies.
People talk about factories, if that is a facory, I am a dwarf. Every worker has his skill, and it looks "factorish" indeed. All work is done so smooth, they even use microscopes. Mainly women are wiring the coils, a special place to treat the guitar after painting, exactly the same technic they use in painting and drying CARS. I paid 20$ to visit the "factory" but it was worth every penny. A thing I really should love, because sooner or later, I will return, is to visit a acoustic guitar company, and/or a full body.
It is incredible to see all those little things, constructed with love, but it is a real pitty that at the end of the chain, a few guys, playing those gibsons for hours, 30% yes THIRTHY, don't make it to the shop, and are DESTROYED. I could cry when I heard it. They DO NOT SELL IT because they deliver a product of QUALITY. Isn't it sad, on 10 hollowbodies, only 7 survive. I told them to make a different brand, and put Gibson on it in very small letters. Is there a way I can reach you, more to have an idea of you working on guitars?

Re: Tanglewood (5 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Altex, cytania is absolutly right. I checked their website, and I found a tanglewoodforest. There are really beautiful guitars, for the better models, you always pay the price, but for an acoustic you have to make choices. It is a lot easier to buy an electric guitar, because even cheap electric guitars "can" sound good, using of course a lot of effects. That's why I always plug an electric in an acoustic amp.
But I saw a few tanglewoods, I have heard the name, but I don't know the fame. I also have the impression that they are not built in China, Indonesia or Korea, but still here.
I don't think you will regret your new guitar. We all have a certain budget in mind to spend when we buy a guitar, (but it happens a lot that you have a budget of 800$ in mind and that finally, you will spend 1000$), try to stay in your "budgetplan", because, before you know, you spend an incredible amount, buying guitars.
I have got a bad car crash back in September 2000, started again working, if you work for yourself: no work, no money, but I had to stop working, because of the pain becoming worse month by month. So I stopped finally in November 2004. I was and still am, very high insured, and receiving money from my job and insurance, were co-responsable for buying at least 7 guitars, very good and real collector guitars AND not to put them behind bars. But after stopping my job, I had a very bad "mental" period, I couldn't, and still can, not accept that this happened to me, and I try to make my problems a little bit easier, buying another "stash" of guitars. Well, I paid for the guitars, and my sins. Now I (try to) think before I do something. I did not notice that I was so greedy.
Good Luck

Topic: composing: wich instrument to use (4 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Why this topic?
If you look at the songs here, you are able, even if you are a beginner, to see a difference in chords, sometimes so called easy songs are very complex. Most of the "chordians" are guitar players I think, correct me if I am wrong, and you can see very clear if a song is written using a piano versus using a guitar.
QUESTION: If I am in the mood to create a song, I USE ALLWAYS MY GUITAR, easy, because I don't have a piano. HOW DO YOU GUYS CREATE A SONG, WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY YOU? Do you use your guitar, or are there musicians using a piano, or BETTER a kind of synthesizer, like ROLAND, YAMAHA, there is so much choise, and I know that if I had the money now, I would purchase a full option synthesizer, to "mimic" or "adding" other sounds, bass, drum, harpsicord (listen to the beauty of some songs written by the Rolling Stones, using hapsicord, like LADY JANE, or on the Voodoo Lounge: New Face.
So what instrument do you use to "fabricate" a song? GUITAR??? classical-electrical-acoustic, is guitar for me.
By the way, if I should buy me a non guitar instrument, I love very much, the sound of a harpsicord, on one hand it looks like a piano, on the other hand it sounds a bit like a guitar.

Re: Mesh of Flesh (13 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Well dear american chaos, I really love your work, BUT, I can't read notes, I CAN read chords (A B C.., also A7 B7, Am, Bm, I think I can play around 50 chords. I don't think it is bad being able to play at least 50 different chords, and still I am amazed like a kid to hear the difference in sound using for example Em in stead of E, or E7 in stead of E.
Do have the abibility to put this song on myspace or youtube?
What I really should like is a "chordiesystem", by putting songs on this, or another site, made by "chordians" and only for subscribed members. I think, if this should be possible, we can really discuss about a self written song, because most of us are die hard music lovers, AND MORE IMPORTANT, MOST OF US ARE AT LEAST TRYING TO BE A MASTER IN CONTROL YOUR GUITAR. I hope that there is a person out there, who can give you, me, and all the others, a kind of advise concerning this: in stead of putting the song on youtube, myspace, see the song here, and having the privilige of HEARING the song you wrote. It has been always difficult for me, and I speak about a period where you only could go to a store to buy songbooks. I spend a fortune on buying "decent" songbooks, like the complete BEATLES songs, and just to notice that 80% of the songs were written in chords like B#, or C#maj7. This makes this site so interesting and so GOOD, you can go up with 1 semitone, or more, and go down the same way.
If one of us, we have to be not selective because everyone must have the possibility to write, or perform, has a beautiful song, it is a pity that we can only judge the lyrics, we can give comment, I MEAN CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENT, it is already difficult enough to play something we don't know, or we can make suggestions. Probably, friends-moderators it will be difficult to make a site like that, OR you can put the song, if you are shy, just play it in that position we can only see a piece of your hands and/or instrument, and give us the link.

Topic: The Difference between a Gibson Flying V faded and a regular reissue? (3 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
As far I am surfing on the web, I was fascinating by musicsites and online stores like zzsounds and music 123. But there is one thing that can or will answer the following question:
Go to the Gibson site to have look, I will just write about the Flying V, but the topic goes for a lot of guitars.
- Gibson Flying V: V-Factor New Century, Flying V with neck pick-up 496R & 500T bridgeposition, both ceramic magnetic humbuckers, on both Gibson Flying V's( I believe it is a reissue of the 1967 model.
Body Species: Mahogany NECK: species Mahogany FINGERBOARD: ebony.
On the other Flying V, you will find the same wood, except from the fingerboard: rosewood, ebony.
- Gibson Flying V faded: neck: 496R ceramic magnetic humbuckers and bridge 500T humbucker, Body Species: Mahogany NECK Species: Mahogany and finally fingerboard: rosewood. PRICE: in EURO here 1050€ and in dollars 594$ !!!! in EURO again 439€ !!!!
So ARE WE TALKING ABOUT A SORT OF COMMERCIAL STUNT, or not. BECAUSE OF THE RETAIL PRICES$$$$, there are, as far I wrote 3 kinds of Flying V, same wood, usually mahogany, only the fingerboard wood "can" be different. So 3 different guitars, all constructed in the USA, same humbuckers, same coils. BUT THE PRICES??????????????????? The description is: The Gibson Flying V '67 V Factor is a modern update of Gibson's classic axe.
PRICE around 1100$ (online), and I am totally not scared at all to purchase in the USA, it gets even better, because of the very strong € (EURO), it is at this moment very attractive to buy there. Even after she was in the hands of the customs working at the airport, and the extra money you have to pay, it is still unbelievable cheaper, and I tried to find an easy system to know the price here when she arrives: put the $ price the same amount in € and you will have an idea of what you are going to pay, before delivery. And you will still have a SUPER DEAL: the retail price of Flying V in EURO is €1499,00. You can even order a trip to the USA, and buying this axe. 1100$ = €812, a huge difference and even unbelievable if you see the price asked by the biggest music store in Europe, so MORE THAN 600€ = $812, yes you can buy 2 guitars for the price of 1 guitar. This is maybe useless or completely irrelevant what I just wrote, and for "chordians" who will travel soon to the USA: buy there your guitar of your dreams, try even to cross the border HINT, try to have the serialnumber, ask a friend a certificate that he sold you guitar X, with serial number 11111 and you have a big opportunity to avoid all the extra charges.
Except for all the tips and hints, WHAT IS NOW THE REASON, OR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE 3 FLYING V's, same wood, same humbuckers, but no reason found on the internet.
I am sure that there are people on this site, who can tell me "the why".
I would really appreciate reactions

Re: What is your electric "dream guitar", even if you don't have it. (35 replies, posted in Electric)
Didn' defintely expecting so much answers, but I think it is somewhere logical, even with 100$ you can purchase a guitar. EBAY is at this moment a prominent seller.
I live in Europe, purchased some guitars, even a "CHINESE FAKE LES PAUL". And this chinese is not so bad at all. I have even a proposition, because they are maybe good, the feedback is terrible, BUT, there is somebody I know, he likes that guitar so much, used it 4 times on stage, and he wants to buy it. I am even able to ask the price, you purchased it for 1$, but you had to pay 200$ transport. He keeps that guitar for a few weeks, and will have every single $ back.
I have somewhere a topic concerning guitars and divided in 3 main chaptres
- cheap, but good, and a very affordable price.
- in betweens, from 500$
- expensives.
You should check it out on that site and read the topic. It took me a few hours to put my topic accurate.

Re: you tube and my space (4 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
I do agree, I think the "puppet on a string era" is ending, and the real players and not the sharks are taking over what should been done already years ago. See Creedence Clearwater Revival and JOHN FOGERTY with Fantasy, probably so overwhelmed that they would put there signature on a piece of toiletpaper. After years of court, discussions and trials, the STRANGE thing is that he signed again for Fantasy, but I am sure that he is getting now what he deserved all those stolen years, a big fat contract, especially being their best selling act and moneymaker.
My opinion: there will be hard times for those companies. And like I read, you can't make a racehorse from a donkey, talented and gifted artists, and I don't mention their playing skills, will ALWAYS come up, just because they are a league to high, even not knowing it.
You have to see all the opportunities: give the people what they want, and I am not speaking really of "GIVING". Show the "surfers" what you have in you, play your song who is let's say 4 minutes long, for 2 minutes, a kind of teaser, show them as much as possible, there are always professionals to help if necessary, and just enough to give the people a sweet taste of your music, and than the people who like what you play, well they pay a small amount to download your songs, without all the in-betweens, running away with your work and money. BUT DO NOT FORGET, THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD DEVICES, EVEN VERY LOW PRICED, SPEND A BIT MORE MONEY TO BUY A DECENT RECORDING DEVICE, PLUG IN THE INSTRUMENTS AND START PLAYING SOMEWHERE, LIKE IN YOUR HOME, ADD A GOOD VISUAL RECORDING, DON'T BE AFRAID, PLAY THE SAME SONG 100 TIMES, YOU ARE NO LONGER IN A STUDIO. And to be more perfect concerning producing, arrangements, there are people who can help you a lot. I even think that there is a great future if you start following college to become a soundengineer.

Is there anybody out there who knows the royalty system. If you take 100$ for instance, how much is going to
- the melody writer
- the writer of the lyrics
- the performer(s)
- the manager
- the others, entourage.
- I think all the rest goes to the record company.
It is just to have an idea and to share this idea with others, to avoid "mal treatments".
I am also talking about serious deals and offers, by serious people.

I am from near BRUSSELS, in BELGIUM EUROPE, 51 years old and retired. Just have a lot of fun and joy playing guitar and surfing on the web, always starting at "chordie" and ending at the same place.
I can't work anymore due to a severe car crash, but I AM STILL STANDING, I am very well insured, and originally my occupation was/is medical doctor. I passed a lot of real difficult moments, having a verteber exploded in 5 pieces and 32 fractures in 1 foot. I have to tell the picture is good, but the guitar looks "fabulous", the concept, she's having it all, I never heard of this brand, WESLEY I taught. Playing this guitar must feeling good, it is a real JEWEL, and concerning Gibson Flying V's or Gibson SG both "faded" are not very high in price, I mean compared to other Gibsons, and until now it is still a mystery for me that you pay at least double the price for an SG Gibson, equiped with the same ??? kind of pick-ups.
On the faded guitars, they speak about smoky coils, and in case of the Flying V, they are equiped : neck 496R ceramic magnetic humbucker and bridge 500T ceramic magnetic humbucker.
The same humbuckers: ceramic magnetic humbuckers (neck 496R and bridge 500T) are also on the regular flying V, except for the price at 123music, you pay for the "real"??? flying V let's say $1200 and for the faded Flying V $550. SO MY QUESTION IS, WHO CAN EXPLAIN ME AND A LOT OF OTHERS THE DIFFERENCE!!! because I just see the same guitars. Or.... are the cheaper V's maybe made in a cheaper country, in secret????????
Difference is gigantic for, I repeat what looks in my eyes the SAME guitar.

Re: ROCK in Illinois (4 replies, posted in My local band and me)
Well, this is something I always wanted to do, playing in a band. I played a few times with others, I like to bring new ideas, I am able to tell that I play quit good, but as a loner, and it is never to late to start playing in a band. What kind of music do you play? I love almost everything, I did not say that I am able to play almost everything, but I have good basics, I can play at least 30 different chords, probably more, but the problem is that I live near Brussels (capital of Europe) in Belgium.
You can make it international, concerning the members, and sh**, sh**, sh**, I was accepted last year, speaking of Valentine's day, on the 14th of february 2006, to be Senior Officer, and Captain on a cruise ship, Carnival Cruise Lines, as medical doctor. But on a blue monday I got the news: send us again a CV, AFTER those guys told me that I was the best candidate since 20 years: graduated as MD in 1980, so a lot of experience, speaking fluent: DUTCH, GERMAN, FRENCH, ENGLISH, and my Italian is really not bad. I answer, just to tell my feelings. I read a lot of things you write here, and I even have the impression of knowing you, but.. how can I stay in the USA, last year I was promised to get a green card, because of the promised job, finally cancelled because of my condition: a lot of physical problems due to a car crash, also the reason that, it happened on 09/02/2000, starting again in the summer 07/02/2001, against doctor's decisions, and finally I had to stop because of too much pain (I lost conscience at least 10 times), caused by the heavy pain. They had the right to contact my collegues, a neurosurgeon, and an orthopedic doctor, and I am very sure they did, because I started to get mails: there might be some medical issues...so, no green card, no USA.
Do you play as a professional, or do you combine working & playing. If I was able to go and stay in the USA, I receive a lot of money being over insured, every month, and I still like to leave everything behind to move to your country. Do you know more about this issue? Do you need somebody, or something to be accepted (not for work, I can't work no longer because when I do too much, I can't stand the pain). I mean somebody, who tells me how I can get a green card.
In fact this is not an answer at all for your band, but I just wanted to know how to get there, and start playing. I still have a lot of regrets that I didn't say YES when DAVE GROHL (Foo Fighters, and Nirvana) invited me on a popfestival, to call him (private), he would pick me up, and the plans where to go to a studio in Seattle, jamming together, maybe recording a few things, going to visit his musician friends, REM, Smashin' Pumpkins, even Neil Young. This is still the biggest deception I ever had, and I am always thinking that I blew away a once in a lifetime opportunity, and he was one of the guys who liked what I played. Problem was, I had my MD job, and I was just back and working again 6 weeks, because I went to South Africa in 1996 with my girlfriend. I deserve a severe punishment for not going. Strange how things can go
